Chapter 106
Lilia’s Pov
I was grinning here and there and smiling like a high school kid who got rewarded , feeling all giddy and excited about nothing. I just felt good and it’s all thanks to Lex whose countenance faltered the moment he saw my mother.
Dad was present too and he noticed her attitude. I went to hug my father and kissed him on the cheeks and he gave a satisfactory smile.
“I’m sorry I came back late, I didn’t want to bother you cupcake. I’m glad you’re fine..” Her eyes strayed to Lex who looked like a teenage boy who was nervous about my father’s presence. “… and happy too.” My dad completed the words and I smiled, pulling Lex to sit down and my Mum stood up instead, dousing all the happy mood in me instantly.
“Sit down Lilith!” My dad ordered but she glared at him.
“You won’t order me on what I feel like doing Tyson. I feel irritated sitting around here!”
Tears welled my eyes instantly at her words and I watched her carry her plate of food.
“You’re disrespecting the Alpha of Midnight Shade Pack, that’s enough! You said horrible things yesterday and I can only imagine what you said to the Alpha!”
“He disrespected my daughter First! His brother, his family, his whole pack disrespected Lilia, sent my girl to the dungeon, exposed her wolf, and made her go through some shitty hell that could have gotten her killed! ” She yelled, letting her tears fall and Lex clenched his fingers hard that I saw his claws sinking into his Palms.
I didn’t like this at all, I know he messed up but that was all in the past and not some cold-hearted beast.
“It doesn’t give you the right to disrespect him!” My father yelled and she growled back at him, making me gasp.
“Have you ever witnessed a trauma in your pathetic life before Tyson? I watched her suffer and I won’t let her relax in the same path again. She was raped! Battered, broken, and denounced from her pack! She thought she fell in love with an angel but he turned out to be a monster and sent my daughter’s nudes viral! Now the blood related to that monster, married her by force, by threats and I swallowed it all up!
I endured because I wanted to cover my daughter’s shame, If I had known that that monster was the brother to this Alpha! I would never have allowed Lilia into Midnight Shade!” She yelled.
“He remains the Alpha, he won’t be here if he’s not sorry. We all make mistakes Lilith.”
“No, you’re all about the title, fame, and useless positions you cherish. I don’t think you care about anything other than that, I don’t think you know what it means to have dignity as long as position and money are concerned. You’re defending him because he’s an Alpha, you’ll be in the grave by now if Lilia didn’t say something to the media or my girl would be dead by now if you had opened your big mouth to force words out of my daughter!
I will never accent Alexander Wilson as my son-in-law! The signed contract is sent to the lawyer and by the end of this week, I want him to sign the divorce papers and annual agreement of the contract.”
I stood up and stared at my mother in horror.
“You’re joking, right? You didn’t just make that decision without consent!”
“Yes hun, I did it. You’ll be safe here at home. I’ll get your fashion house back so that you can get on track.”
“And you think I want that now? You think I care about a fashion home, you have no right to go through my stuff and rummage through my items to get that contract. It was confidential!”
She smiled and came closer to me but one already brimming with rage.
“You’re my daughter, I’ll do anything to protect you from another monster. I’ll break any laws I’ve not broken to make sure you’re safe so it’s not a big deal!”
I shook my head and sniffed, getting tired of the whole mess and meeting my family idea. It was a bad idea, my mum was too buried in her rage to even see me. We haven’t had a decent conversation, I’ve not hugged her, and she hasn’t even talked about my pregnancy aside from how she feels.
“I’m in love with that monster Mum! We may not have started right but he’s not the monster, his brother might be everything evil but don’t refer that to my mate…ever again!”
She gasped. “Your what?”
“It seems you’re so busy and worked up in your emotions at the moment, my feelings and what I want are of no importance to you at the moment so I’ll leave. Maybe the real parents know what their daughter wants and would not nag and hurt their feelings. Until you’re calm and cool-headed, I will be staying with my mum in Midnight Shade!” I spat out and got inside to carry my bag, and I could hear her asking my father what she meant by real parents.
I didn’t mean to tell her this way but she pushed me, she was going overboard with her words and I couldn’t help it. That came as a huge slap and shock to her but I had to remind her that she wasn’t the only one that has a right and a say in my life no matter what happened and her emotions.
“Let’s go, Lex!” I told my mate who was washed with confusion and guilt, dropping every Alpha aura and ego before my parents and bowed.
“I know I messed up Mrs Tyson and no amount of words would take away the painful memories I’ve caused you all but it’s a painful hell I’m stuck with, something that would hunt me all the rest of my life. But I’ve promised to make it up to her, to protect her even when I’m just imperfect and failed.
I won’t let a dime happen to her again, I’m not promising, I’m making a vow and swearing an oath because she’s mine and I love her more than I’ve ever loved anyone in my life.
My brother is detained and it’s going to be for a very long time, I have no idea that he had a hand in her past. I didn’t do enough, I would have found out earlier and maybe avoided the marriage, but it already happened and she’s stuck with me.
Please don’t fight it, don’t take Lilia away from me because I’ll fight back and I’ll win. I hope you understand and forgive my flaws, same to you too Mr. Tyson.” He said the words so calmly as if he had prepared himself for a long time and bowed.
The house went stiff with silence and I grabbed his arm to leave them alone. They could sort out their differences and let them think.
“Do you think they would be fine?” He asked me the moment we were in the car and I nodded sadly.
“My mum is the calmest of all but I’m surprised at her actions, she would be fine. I don’t know how she would react about my real parents, she looks shaken. I’m regretting saying that out too loudly.” I told him and he kissed my forehead and smiled.
“You would have still told them sooner or later, so don’t blame yourself.” I nodded and held his palms mine and kissed it.
“You should stop injuring yourself when you’re mad about something. I hate it.” I told him and he nodded.
“Alright Flower, I’ll keep that in mind.”

We didn’t reach the Pack Mansion after we left my parents but went straight to Raven’s. Lex said he feels comfortable there so we can rest there a while and go back to the Pack at night which made me excited because I was looking forward to seeing my brother and parents.
We arrived safely and the first thing she did was cry helplessly on my shoulders and thanked Lex countlessly.
Dad was usually quiet and cool no matter his mood but today, he was unexpectedly chatty.
“Something ugly has occurred, Alpha Alexander.” My dad said and Lex looked up at him, eating the chicken sauce with the mashed potatoes prepared for him.
“What?”
“Your Dad’s position is threatened by the Parliament.” Lex swallowed and drank the water beside him and nodded.
“Well, he should have thought of that before taking up the blame and refusing to give up his son.”
He said nonchalantly and passed the bowl of bacon and fresh fries.
“What I’m trying to say is that, your father might be impeached,” Dad added and I stared at their reactions curiously.
“Okay.” I gasped at Lex who was unbothered by that.
“Eat love, don’t stare at me like that.”
“It’s going to affect him Lex, won’t you do something? Look for Felix or try to get him out of the station.” I asked in worry and he shrugged.
” He knew what he was getting into by turning himself over, Midnight Shade is my business and my Luna. I’m not interfering with that especially when it has to do with Felix!”
I bit my lips and nodded, eating more food and giggling at my mother’s excited expression at the same time, Raven came in looking like a gang leader in his ripped black jeans, black shirt, and gloves in his hands.
I stood up and went to hug him before he could come closer and Lex scoffed.
“Raven!” I cried excitedly and he carried me in a twirling manner.
“I was about to book a flight for New York, If I didn’t see you here, I’m glad you’re okay Lilia.” He kissed my hair and passed a bag to me which I hastily opened and squealed in excitement
“Oh, Raven! I’ve craved this since this morning! Thank you, you’re the best!” I grinned excitedly and brought out the mint chocolate ice cream and my mum glared at Raven.
“You taught her to eat too much of these, now…it’s an addiction!”
“What Mum? She loves It!” Raven chuckled and sat down beside Lex who scoffed and glared.
“She ate three plates of that as breakfast instead of eating man! I don’t want my child to get such an addiction to some cold cream! What if it affects her health!”
I scooped the ice cream and moaned at its savory taste while they argued like I wasn’t there.
“That’s your business, whatever my sister wants, she gets it.” Raven winked and I giggled, enjoying the frustrating look on Alexander’s face.
Despite my nonchalant attitude and giggling towards my parents, I paid full attention to Raven’s whispers.
“He’s in the basement but you left New York without checking that out! How would you leave and not check on the Psycho and what if your parents go paranoid when they need him, especially your father?”
“I’ll tackle that later, anything else?” Lex asked and he nodded.
“Yes, I’ll show you in the office. Your Seraphina has been seeing a witch lately and I don’t think it’s for a good motive Alpha.”
That piqued my interest instantly and his eyes dimmed with irritation.
“Something’s wrong about her, she was here last night, lying to your mum about my mate’s whereabouts to get you out, I confronted her but she was mad, saying she wanted fuck you since I won’t do that after, I had mistakenly kissed her.,” I froze at his words and I think he felt that too because he tore his gaze from Raven to stare at me.
“Were you eavesdropping Flower?” He looked stunned and bit his lips but my father interrupted.
“The full moon is in full days Alpha, do you plan on marking my daughter so she can push on with the Mating ceremony or do you ”
My father didn’t get to complete his words because Lex froze for a moment and walked out of the room, leaving me stunned.
