Lex’s Pov
“What happened?” I asked my Beta immediately she left for the duel and glared at his naked skin that was already drawing attention from all sorts of ladies but he didn’t care.
Raven was already a mannequin when fully clothed, how much more this which seemed as if he was showing a 18+ PG rated scene.
“A lot happened Lex, she fucking came to my rescue and saved me.” He groaned in anger, and his claws were out.
“I’ll kill them after this whole thing is done.”
“That’s why I’m asking what the fuck happened? Fill me in Raven!!”I asked impatiently and raked his hair.
“Someone else knows about my secret!” He seethed and I frowned deeply at that.
“I don’t know how it happened, but after breakfast, we all felt unconscious. I didn’t even know it happened to my mun until I saw myself under the hot sun and Lilia came to save my ass.”
“What the fuck? Lilia knows you’re a…. shit Raven! this is fucking bad. I can’t let this get out more than this.” He scoffed at my words as If I was speaking nonsense.
“Someone already knows, before sedating me with a very powerful drug to keep me unconscious, take me out to the middle of the world and tie me to a tree under the sun!” Xander growled in hot fury at the treatment towards Lex, and I swallowed hard.
I couldn’t remember concentrating on the damn duel again.
We’ve managed to come his far and hide this so how and why the fuck is this happening?
If words ever get out about Raven, then I’m going down too.
“Lilia saved me. She fucking did and I don’t know how or what she was thinking. But one thing I know for sure is the fact that I’m interrogating Jethro.”
I shook my head in disagreement and groaned.
“Not him, Raven! He’s my gamma and you know he wishes well for us.”
“No way Alpha, he’s your gamma and I’ve known his scent for years! I can pick it up even in a damn coven and I don’t even trust myself not to mess up when it has to do with anything. The same way you’re blinded to your beloved brother antics but he was fucking with Lilia and messing her up.” I swallowed hard at my Beta’s words and diverted my eyes to the arena which was a bloody mistake.
Lilia was covered in blood and not even a scratch was on Gracie’s skin.
“You never liked my brother Raven and I understand but You’ve never had an issue with Jethro, don’t jump into conclusions.’
“That’s the thing with you Alpha, you fucking trust blindly! I don’t!
I heard Jethro’s scent and he’s fucking dead. Better start doing something with Alveria too because she used her Priestess powers on me to bind those ropes so that I’ll die. I don’t trust a soul, Alpha Alexander and I’ll get into that pitch and pull my sister out before she dies because everything in Midnight Shade is turning into a fucking deathtrap of evil politics!” Raven spat out and growled even more at the scene before him at the arena and I felt my heart squeezed in a pain I never thought existed in me.
“I made a promise to protect you Raven, I’m still on my word so don’t fret. We’ll get to the root of this.”
” I don’t need your protection because you can’t even protect yourself and your Luna from the hands of these fake people. I won’t only die if words get out, my parents would be a victim. Don’t also forget who you are, Alexander! The Pack would turn into an uproar and letting Alveria know about your secret was the worst thing on earth!”
“It was all my father! It’s because we trusted Alveria! I don’t know why she’s suddenly this way and using her veto power to rip everything apart! It’s freaking annoying.”
“She’s doing everything for her daughter, I’ll do everything for my sister!” I groaned and glared at him.
“She’s not your sister yet, you psycho!”
“Well, she is. The results came out positive and I’ve been giddy as hell to tell her. I just want all this bullshit to get done and I’ll take her out.”
“I won’t let you do that, she’s my Luna!”
Raven shook his head as I was spewing rubbish.
“It’s fake!”
“Well, not anymore. I want her for real and I’m crowning her as mine before m” A loud yell that definitely looked like Lilia’s echoed and we got distracted.
The scene was so mortifying and Xander writhed and groaned with agony.
“They are using the bane on her while fighting, she’s so damn weak!” He snapped and I frowned at his words, taking a clearer look at what he said to confirm it and he was damn right.
I could see a trinket of white substances flowing in the air and I cursed.
“Shift!” I ordered Lilia through the mindlink but she was way too weak to even say anything. She tried to turn but Gracie was swift to throw a punch to her face and sink her claws into her thigh.
“She needs to get out of there right now!” Raven yelled and tried to move over but I held him.
“Stop, let me talk to her.”.
“What’s there to talk about, she’s fucking bleeding and dying!”
“You are always the calm one Raven, stop losing your shit and let me tell her to do something before that bitch finishes her off with the bane or whatever substance she’s holding at the moment!” I yelled and his eyes went wide.
“Listen to me flower, take her by surprise and fucking shift into your wolf! She has the bane before it kills you!”
I ordered and I heard a whimper from her.
“Isn’t that against the rules?”
“When it comes to your safety, there are no fucking rules! She broke the rules by using a sacred item to fight. Use your wolf Lilia, she’s dangerous and Xander believes in her too.” I tell her and immediately and shifted and sprouts Into a fucking bright beauty!
What followed wasn’t a moment to invite the shock of the spectators, she finished Gracie without a second thought and crushed her before she could even think of trying to escape.
Her bones cracked and when Gracie shifted, a dagger fell from her own clothes and Lilia was so fast to pick it with her mouth and ran to her hard, colliding against her to roll on the floor.
It was a battle but Lilia’s wolf was deadly. Her eyes shone as she tore Grace’s limb and fur, stabbing the dagger straight into her chest and the whole crowd stood up.
I heard a smell, distracting me from focusing, from telling her not to feel relieved because Gracie might still have enough strength to turn her over and do the same.
But Lilia’s wolf scratches out a large amount of sand and dips it straight into her eyes.
“What’s this scent Raven?” I asked my beta absentmindedly and he shrugged, denying to perceive anything.
It was so sweet of a smell that no description could fit it. Or would I say it looked like I was in a vineyard or a garden, Jasmine oil and royal pine wood would have to be extracted together to bring such scent.
It was too much that I groaned and slammed the rails behind me.
“Alpha?” Raven asked in concern and I seethed, my focus was still on Lilia but my heart was ripping into two.
“My mate is here Alexander!! She’s so here?”Xander blurted out those cursed words while he felt excited.
“Your mate? Seraphina?” I asked him and he denied it straight away.
“No it’s not. She’s dead! My mate is here!” He growled excitedly and the duel was over, I didn’t care about what at that moment because all I could see was Lilia, she limped and Raven went straight to carry her while she burst out in tears and I felt disgusted at Raven’s hands on her.
“Go get my mate off him Alexander! That’s my mate!”
He yelled and argued and I felt relieved.
“She’s our mate?” I asked again.
“Yes! Go now, go and get her!”
“Why didn’t I know of all this since, why didn’t you tell me you foolish wolf” I bit my lips hard in excitement.
“Because her wolf was locked up, it’s still locked up because of the effects of the curse but I could sense her today. I could smell her fully today and I know she’s mine!”
I nodded in excitement bursting through me and took a step to meet her when I felt a familiar hand wrapped around my torso and everything stopped.
“Alex?” A tiny voice sobbed and my body shook.
I froze for a while before turning slowly, slowly to meet the last person I thought I had erased from my memories.
“It’s me baby, I’ve missed you so much!” She cried and hugged me so tightly making me shake my head in confusion.
“Seraphina?” I called her name and she stared back at me with those perfect hazel eyes.
