Chapter 79
Lilia’s pov
I know I’ve seen Lex in different forms of expressions and attitude but this would be the third time for him to express a side that scared the shit out of me. I overlooked the scene if his expression at Ryker when he got feral and suddenly snapped Into a deadly venom that made it seemed he erupted from a dark burning abyss, another was at the office where he almost killed Isabella and now, he’s doing that again with Jax who simply just let him have his way.
His eyes looked like fire, deep red balls that lost its emotions, I could see his claws and I knew it didn’t look like a wolf’s. It was so different, his skin changed too almost as if he bore scales and I wondered what Jax meant by those last words he said because it definitely had an effect on Lex who paused instantly and stared at him deeply.
He could kill him and I’ll never forgive him or myself if that ever happens. This was all on me and I let my selfishness kicked in, putting Jax in trouble.
“Please, that’s enough Lex. Let’s go already, I have a test to carry out this morning.” I tell him hoping for the words to get him distracted but he wasn’t. His stare was sending a very strong signal and I bet he was passing a warning, slowly his eyes returned to the normal royal gold I knew and his claws returned back to normal.
“We’ll know what happens when you cross the line again Kenzie! Ask your father what happens to Alphas who defile me, I carve their heart out and take over their territory. Yours won’t be an exception!” He spat out and walked away and I didn’t care to spare Jax a glance. I messed up terribly and I wonder how Lex was going to react towards me. He was looking so dead cold and angry like a rock, my wolf had gone silent too even though I badly wanted her to say something to make my giddy self be at ease. We had the most awkward walk ever and the moment we both reached the pack, Lex ordered me harshly.
“Go to the arena, now!”
“Lex…Lex let me explain please. You’re so mad that you won’t even look at me.”
He scoffed and unbuttoned his cufflinks at both sides, His hair fell to the side of his face naturally and I swallowed at the mess I’ve made.
“Explain how you badly missed your betrothed and met him at my my back in disguise of undergoing a training? No Lilia, I’ll rather pass!” He sounded so gruffy and pissed. Jethro approached us and I felt even tensed, I was scared he was going to add more fuel to the fire by telling him that this won’t be the first time I would be sneaking out.
“That’s not true, I just wanted to be strong.”
“Bullshit Lilia!” He roared. “You disrespected me and broke the rules. You’re not meant to see any mother fucker not especially when it has to do with your Ex! And you know I don’t take rules lightly especially when they’re being violated!”
His voice was way too loud, he was grabbing the attention I didn’t want and people were watching while some were giggling and I felt my eyes burn.
“Lex…can you please tone it down? I got frustrated. I…” my words choked in my throat as I spoke.
“You were not here and he was willing to help, do you know how hard it was for me?”
“Do you ever tell me shit Lilia? I ask daily like it’s your responsibility to tell me things! I’m willing to crush anything and everything to make sure things work out fine but you keep pushing me away like I’m a plaque. If you needed someone to train you then, you would have spoke! Not cross over to meet Jax!! ”
He yelled again, taking off his shirt and passing it to Jethro, curiosity and anger filled me up immediately and I nodded my head. Trying not to get distracted at the perfect skin and abs that was Sinfully bare for my innocent eyes.
“Spoke to whom? You? Are you ever present as an Alpha? You said I’m breaking the rules and that’s a lie Lex, you’re crossing the line, interfering in my business. You were going to stay out of my affairs, but you’re doing more and you say I don’t tell you shit? My life is bare before you but I know not a pin drop about you!”
I yelled at him but Lex swallowed, sizing me up with a blank expression that one would think he was checking me out before dropping his voice calmly.
“You never asked for a pin drop Lilia, I was ready to tell you anything and the law I set revolves around me, not you. I set the rules and change them, all for you. The next time I see you with Jax, or with any other existence of a gender that has a dick in between his legs, you will take the blame for their death! You’re the only law I’ll set my eyes on, the only thing I’ll follow and set till you become vulnerable to my existence.”
Every word he spewed was like imprinted matra on my skin and blood.
Was he claiming me as if, I’m sort of tied to him for life?
It sounded beautiful to my ears, I wanted to hear more but that didn’t like it would happen anytime soon
“Get into the field, you will train till evening with me!” He ordered and I gasped in dread and shook my head.
“That’s not happening, I could die!” I gasped, despite the excitement coursing through my existence and body. I was having another thoughts swirling in my head.
“Then you would have thought of telling me, before cheating on me!” He used another wrong word and I looked like the most confused soul on earth. Why was he acting so rational and inconsiderate?
Jethro didn’t say a word but watch in silence, I swallowed and followed Lex to the arena and regretted immediately. The group of warriors stopped instantly and all turned to us and bowed instantly. All activity stopped and eyes were centered on Lex who seemed as If he was looking at a mere stranger. Cold and dead that made me have instant cold and so nervous.
“You’re sparring with me, if your back hit the ground, we’ll go all over again!” He ordered and the arena went silent as a grave yard.
I gulped hard and stared at him to look for any hint of unseriousness but he was serious.
“She’s going to die today, I bet she made him angry.”
I heard that murmur, sharper than anything.
“She’s fighting with death, hehe, I told you it would only be a matter of time when he realizes how useless and worthless she is! Only Beta Raven can be up against the Alpha!” Another cried and I gulped hard.
“It’s high time he sends her away than letting her go through unnecessary punishment, she’s seen enough these past days. The tests are deadly.”
I turned back to Lex and his countenance remained though and cold.
“What are you doing Lex?” I asked through the mindlink but he acted as if he was suddenly dead and invisible.
“I can’t lift a finger against you and you know it. Stop…st.. stop already.” I cracked in fear, I didn’t even want to raise my hands against him but before I could tell him what was on my mind again, he charged at me and I saw Felix at the corner of my eyes.
Just one powerful hit from Lex , I dropped down to the ground and sustained a cut.
Anger worked through my throat, I couldn’t believe he did that, I wasn’t expecting him to be serious enough to hit me. He didn’t even had to try and I was already on the ground.
“Tch! What a weakling!”
“I guess it’s time to watch a thrilling fight of history, a couple sparring to death sounds exciting!”
“Get up bitch! Follow the rules and prove you’re not a rogue!” They yelled and began to chant loudly.
This wasn’t Lex, he was consumed in a rage that scared me.
I struggled to get up and my legs were shaky, I wiped the blood on my elbow with my fabric and fisted my tiny hands.
I was never going to attack first as it’s so useless, he was going to finish me and he knew it, he took a slow stride towards me and when he tried to send a dab at me, I dodged but he was so unpredictably fast to dive his legs on me making me fall! He didn’t even touch me!!
I wanted to yell.
Was I so weak not to avoid his unexpected hits?
I got up again to attack, but ended up falling again and again and again without him lifting a finger on me. I was bruised and angry, I would dodge a few more time but end up on the floor.
This time, I went fully at him, attacking him with all of my might and Throwing punches on his face since he wasn’t going to touch me.
Lex was swift, he avoided all my antics and when I thought he was going to hit me hard, he only grabbed my hair and made me fall down hard to earn a crack in my bones and I yelped in pain.
The tears I withheld fell and I struggled in pains, I felt weak as hell from too much hitting my body on the ground. I saw stars dancing around my vision, my throat was suddenly dry and Parched and my stomach growled.
“Lex please….. stop this!” I pleaded at him but he was blank as always.
I got queried and scolded for delaying to get up. I didn’t notice that the place had suddenly become crowded, we’ve suddenly turned into an interesting show for the people and a display of my weaknesses was one important feature for them.
These bloody people! Always wanting to see my downfall.
“Seduce him Lilia” my wolf suddenly cowered and I raised my brows in confusion.
“What?” I gasped.
“Well, he’s consumed with rage and jealousy and probably his way of training but I can’t take it anymore, I’m exhausted.”
“This is wickedness Lee and not Training!”
I scolded my wolf.
“Tell him you love him?” I chuckled at her words and immediately , a wave of hard punch almost flew to my face. Lex didn’t care, he just wanted me down.
“Yes Lilia, he would be confused and from there, you let him fall. Say something to him, anything. Defeat him emotionally!”
She said and Lex was swift to use his long legs to sweep the sand and dust into my eyes but I blocked it..
“Lex wait!” I called but he ignored me as usual and reached to launch another attack.
“I love you.” I blurred out with a sensuality.
Everything stopped.
My heart beat faster than anything in this world that I wondered why I was the affected one.
He froze at the spot and stared at me.
“I need you Lex…so much, all over me so please stop already and let’s leave!” I growled seriously and his eyes darkened, he cocked his head and at me trying to shake it off but I kicked a large amount of sand into his eyes and pushed him down with a force of energy that I never knew where it came from, making him land on his back.
The crowd went silent instantly and I stared at him, looking at his eyes which held sudden admiration.
“You little witch!” He chuckled suddenly, and I couldn’t believe he suddenly switched his expression.
“That’s not part of the rules. You tricked and distracted me with those words!” He cupped my cheeks, totally disregarding the crowd and I swallowed.
“Why are you still mad at me?” I asked him softly, my body pressed against him, my laps firmly resting on his crotch.
“Because I’m so mad flower….” He breath in exasperation and I huffed.
“I’m sorry, can you just…” he kissed me straight up in the lips before I could say anything and I gasped.
We were in public, so fucking exposed.
“Kiss me Flower, our rules was to display emotions in public.”He breath into my lips desperately and I kissed him back so hard that he growled, pushing the back of my head to meet him deeply.
We were so lost in each other assault until a loud gasp and yell erupted and we broke free, staring at the distance of the commotion.
It was Raven.
He was beating the hell out of Felix.
