Contracted to the wrong Alpha
Chapter 29

Lilia’s Pov
“Water?” He asked me and I nodded eagerly.
He walked to the fridge to get a chilled bottle of water and passed it to me.
“Thanks,” I muttered and opened the cap before drowning the cold liquid down my throat and I felt refreshed.
The ping sound from the microwave alerted me and it made me notice that there was a mini microwave in the room when it was supposed to be in the kitchen. I was dressed in a tank top and shorts and I felt more refreshed staring at Raven in silence in this room. I wanted to talk to him and ask him a lot of questions but I withheld it before I got ignored in the face and felt hurt.
“Eat up.” He ordered, pushing the plate of lasagna and the peppered fried fish by the side which made my mouth water. Despite not being hungry, I’ll do anything to savor this right away which I did, feeling the crispy taste of the fish in my mouth.
I didn’t realize how hungry I was till I finished everything.
The silence in the room was killing me but I won’t say a word.
“Go to sleep.” He said and paused to examine my reaction before he continued.
“Don’t worry, Felix won’t be here.”
“You don’t know that,” I told him with fear and he sighed, ruffling his beautiful hair.
“I know that Luna, I won’t let him come an inch close to you.” He said with a stern face and certainty and I nodded, believing him, and snuggled into the sheets. I’ve never seen this part in this cold stone feature but I’ll admit that he’s cool.
He masks his act so well as if he isn’t doing anything, but I know that Raven saved my ass, served me, and made me feel better. The moment he walked out of the room, I reached for my bag and brought out my pills, throwing two into my mouth and drinking water to gulp it down.
My pills, my sleep.
No pills, no sleep.
I’ll just toss on the bed and face my insomnia misfortune or I travel to that unforbidden nightmare of me getting raped in the dark.

The past few days have been a hell of a boring hole for me. I wondered how on earth I was going to fulfill my wifely duties to a great mansion.
I remembered the days when I sneaked out to visit Melody or go to my Fashion house but Jerry would kick against it and Raven would appear nowhere in a flash to stop me, saying that his Alpha is against it.
I haven’t seen Lex since that night and as stupid as I may sound right now, I just wished to see his face. No matter the dark and dangerous personality he carries, he is too beautiful to be ignored.
I wanted to work, I wanted to sow and I wanted to go to school. Five days in this mansion was tiring and I felt glad that Felix never stopped by.
Raven remained cold and distant but reflected a little bit of concern for my welfare.
I wondered if he ever had friends, if he had a mum to talk to, and how he reacted to them. Something in me tells me that there’s a reason for his attitude and Lee hummed in annoyance.
“Don’t tell me you’re falling for him? I’ll reject him even if he happens to be my mate.” She tells me and I chuckle at her, she dislikes Raven. She feels that he’s too distant and strange and they could never align together.
“I’m not falling for anybody Lee, I’d rather stand tall than become a victim again and no, you can’t reject him. He’s a hot snack.” I told her and she sighed sadly.
“You would have accepted Felix’s offer, Lilia.” She started and I shook my head in disgust.
“No Lee, I can’t.”
“Why? We could have gone to Russia and stayed at Uncle Morphyl’s pack or looked for a pack to accept us so that I could be free. It’s not always about you too Lilia!” She suddenly said and I gasped.
“I’m not being selfish Lee, I’m protecting you. I will not leave because of Felix, I will leave on my own. And don’t forget that we are in the city, a very expensive one that has terminated all the ecosystem that had to do with wildlife, I can’t shift and I can’t expose you or we’ll both die!” I snapped at her and she curled back in anger, no longer saying a word.
Raven walked in and I ignored him, not that he was coming to tell me anything great. I appreciate his presence and the fact that Felix is out of the way but he’s more depressing behaving like a cursed monument.
“Do you do Yoga?” He asked out of the blue and I nodded dryly. It’s been a long time since I did that as my instructor was out of the country.
“Go get dressed then, we’ll sneak out,” He said casually and my eyes sparkled with excitement.
“For real?” I shrieked and he nodded, fighting so hard to hide his smile.
I rushed inside to rummage through the already-made wardrobe that was barely mine but every outfit in it was my size. I wore a black singlet, a black sporty leggings and a white canvas. I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and flew out before he changed his mind but he was already in the car right in front of the mansion and I hopped in.
“Thank you, Raven, this is my best day.” I squeaked but he didn’t say a word and drove out.
I didn’t know how long I did the Yoga thing, but I could tell I was exhausted. From the way my back hurts and how my legs cracked with every move.
“Ready for the next session?” Raven asked and I shook my head.
“No please, the instructor is harsh and my legs are on fire.”
I told him and he smirked.
“Just one more session and we’ll leave.” He said and I didn’t know whether I should argue or not. It was more of an order than a statement and I found myself nodding.
I waited for a few more minutes exercising myself and doing mock stunts to make my muscles more flexible when I felt the presence.
I turned sharply and an excited gasp tore through me immediately.
“Oh my God! Melody?”
I shrieked and she was also surprised to see me, taking hasty steps to crash her body into mine and a sob broke through her.
“Thank goodness Boss, you’re fine. You’re so alive.” She hugged me tightly and I returned the same heat until we disentangled.
“I didn’t know you were already back in the City.” She stated and I nodded.
“Yeah, I didn’t know about you either after crying countlessly to let me see you.”
“How did you survive it?” She shrieked. “The Midnight Shade accusations and the fight with their warrior? I was scared as fuck and I thought you will die ”
“I survived it Melody, I’m just stuck in this bitter reality and I’m extremely sorry for putting you through that stress. I shouldn’t have asked you to do something despicable.”
“It’s okay.” She shook her head. “After seeing the kind of jerk you were getting married to and the hostility in the pack, I would have done the same thing.”
“Did your dad find out?” I asked her and she sighed sadly and nodded.
“Yeah, he grounded me and warned me to stay away from you. I had to forcefully close down Bells and More Fashion, no one was willing to work again.” She said and my heart dropped in a painful dread.
“What? How? What happened to the manager team and other proposals we had received.”
“It stopped abruptly when I came back, everyone became so distant, cold, and uncooperative. They began to resign and use your scandal as an excuse to leave.”
I felt tears burn my eyes and my throat became dry in pain. I worked so hard for Bells and More, I didn’t deserve this.
I need my fashion house back. It was one of the reasons I married Lex, to save my mess and protect my reputation and business.
“What do you think, Melody?” I asked her and she sighed.
“I don’t know, I think they were paid off and I heard a scary rumor that ” She bit her lips and I stared at her in anticipation.
“I heard it was sold.” She finished the statement and my eyes almost popped out of my socket in disbelief.
“It’s a lie right?” I asked hoarsely as I thought about the possibility of someone selling my hard-earned sweat I had developed for years and couldn’t find the right word to explain.
“I’m so sorry Lilia, but a rumor from your workers might be true.” She said and I laughed, a heart-wrenching laughter.
