Contracted to the Wrong Alpha
Chapter 9
*****
Lilia
The hairs at the back of my neck stood as I looked at the Midnight Sin behind me, staring at his phone and fixing his hot gaze on me.
My skittering heart was a mess, affecting every fiber of my body and something tells me, I’m being followed or watched.
All thanks to the stupid Airport I chose to board a flight today.
I should have just used a train or maybe a car to another airport to save this stress.
Pretending not to notice whosoever it was, I held the handle of my pink box and dragged it forward. To get the hell out of here before things escalate.
People still know me as the slut on the sex tape, so my face cap and fluffy joggers with tank top didn’t do justice in hiding me.
My Saliva caught my throat, almost choking me up when I felt a hand on the box and the most deep voice that felt like rushing waters from the sea spoke up.
“I’ll help you with that ma’am.” He said curtly and simply, taking my box to leave but I gritted my teeth.
“I never asked for your help!” I told him but it looked like this guy was done talking to me.
“Who. the. fuck. are. you?!!” I was growling, trying so hard not to draw attention as people were already throwing glances outside and appraising him for being so cute and giving us titles for being a sweet couple.
I walked after his towering figure, running after him with my box.
“I can’t leave that door, I have a flight to attend. So please, drop the act and speak.” I had to resort to begging, perhaps his mingy aura would reconsider.
“You have a wedding to attend, Miss Lilia. Everyone would be so happy to see you there than flying ” He said with sarcasm dripping from his tone and it’s as if I felt two Invisible hot slaps resounding in my ears. That was a bomb to my heart which rolled down to my stomach to dump a sickening feeling of dread.
Lex must have sent this man, the first thought in my sudden pounding head was Melody.
Is she okay?
Did she get caught? What the hell happened?
The dangers behind my actions might be great if I ever followed this man back to Lex, I could get into serious trouble with the President as a whole and his sweet mother who was nice to me might tag me as a witch who wanted to disgrace his son and break his poor heart.
I could remember Melody’s voice reminding me not to get caught.
[Don’t get caught, don’t get caught, Lilia]
Her voice echoed in my ears and a heavy nauseating feeling washed over me knowing I was doomed, without any warning: I took some slow steps backward, feeling my eyes reel in disappointment and the guy in the dark suit stopped.
“I would advise you not to do that and walk quietly with me to the car please.” He said and I didn’t stop but like a sudden bolt, he was right before me to hold me and I let out every damn thing that rolled out of my stomach, spitting all the fear, nauseous feeling, and dread on his perfect shoes and soiling the line of his trousers, earning a gasp from the others.
“Fuck!” He cursed sharply which I found somewhat cute but my face burned with embarrassment as I tried to pick a run but he scooped me in a bridal style, ignoring the crowds, ignoring my yells, and taking me to the most fancy cars ever outside the airport.
Lee whimpered, shaking and growling. She kept yelling at how she warned me, she was so pissed and angry and I was devastated.
“I’m sorry,” I told him sincerely as I knew I messed him up but he didn’t say a word.
I didn’t know what he told the driver but the car zoomed off when he walked out of the car.
I trembled in the car and I’ve never wished to have a superpower right now. I could be a vampire to speed up the car to San Francisco or become an alien to get the hell out of the moving car.
I wanted to talk to this driver to speak to him about what happened but his countenance and focus on the road told me he wouldn’t spare a glance. What’s it with their strict attitude?
Or maybe I could just fly out of the window. The drive was now taking too long and I noticed they even passed the route of the Presidential Villa going farther and farther which left me in dread and confusion. We were so far away from the City of New York and entering another City, Far classier and busier than But it gave off the Vibe of an ancient setting in a modern city.
I couldn’t apprehend where exactly we were until we came to a large Gold gate that gave off and ohGoodness!!
It’s as if I entered another Paradise of green earth nature.
I couldn’t smell where I was or the species in the place but it was a different Pack.
“P.. pplease where am I?” I asked the man shakily who finally stared at me through the rear mirror and shook his head in Pity.
“This is Midnight Shade. I’ll drop you off at the reception Hall.”
I was so shocked that I was soundless. Why was the reception here where we were supposed to get married in the heart of the city in New York?
My body shook and expected the worst, I’m here now so what’s the big deal?
The car came to an abrupt halt in front of a beautiful Duplex whose color radiated brightly at the sun.
The car door slid automatically open upwards and I sighed shakily, calculating how my Embarrassment would be.
However, my Dad’s angry face was the one that greeted me, and a hot slap landed on my cheeks which sent me to the ground.
My lips cut from the impact and I bled, I deserved that.
“I’m so disappointed in you!” He yelled in fury and I clenched my hands, still not saying a word. What got me was the crowd that was now gathering outside instead of attending to the music and enjoying the meals served at them.
I hate public attention and disgrace, so I need to avoid it.
“I’m here now already, can we go in, please? I’m sorry.” I choked out my words and I saw Tessy, who came out with Felix. She was dressed in a red Satin gown that had sequences at the neck cape. Her silver hair was packed up neatly and she looked like a model.
I swallowed hard, avoiding her gaze and biting the lump that was piling in my throat.
“I’m here”. I said again but this time, my voice failed me.
“Let’s go and-”
“The Alpha has been insulted and we’ll act on it, we won’t tolerate that in Nightshade.” Tessy’s mum said and I wanted to snort.
Who the fuck is she to say such?
“I didn’t Insult him, I- something came up.”
“You sent your assistant to take your place after delaying him for hours. You allowed the President of New York to stand on the Aisle looking stupid and made other Visitors leave in anger? You might become the Luna of Midnight Shade but this is something so intolerable, breaking the law of Principles in Midnight Shade!” She yelled at me and the crowd nodded in approval, murmuring amongst themselves.
My mum’s face was laced in panic and my father’s head was hung low.
What’s happening?
I’m here already, let’s do the goddamned wedding!!
I couldn’t even see Lex in the crowd aside from these hungry attention maniacs who were eager about what would happen next.
“I don’t know why you’re making a fuss when I’m here already. I deeply apologize to your Alpha and President but let’s continue the wedding.” I shakily said and She stepped forward.
Her Magenta gathered gown made her look like a Luna of authority as she stood before me facing the crowd. I’m close enough to know Tessy’s Father who works as an Auditor at Crisps Microfinance Bank but I didn’t know much about her mum because she was never around.
Looking at her now, something tells me she wields some kind of supreme authority as my heartbeat picked up hastily.
Felix’s gaze was fixed on me which was devoid of emotions, all I could see through those eyes was hatred, wishing I vanished from this place and was so eager to know what would befall me next as he tore his gaze from me and fixed it on Tessy’s mother.
“The Blue Moon Ritual is in seven days and we can’t have a stain or accept any act of disrespect amongst us, for her to be the Alpha’s Luna, Lilia Tyson would have to face the punishment of being in the Sacred confinement room for the next seven days!” She pronounced and felt life draining from me as the crowd gasped in shock.
