Her voice was faint and distant, but Nelson still recognized it. He grabbed her wrist, his body temperature almost burning her.
The grip was firm and unyielding.
Callie winced in her hair stood on end as she pushed the pills one by one to his mouth and held the water to his lips. But he didn’t open his mouth, so the water just spilled out.
Sweating profusely, Callie called out, “Nelson, Nelson?”
The pills melted in his mouth. Didn’t they taste bitter?
Callie had no choice. Seeing that he didn’t spit them out, she didn’t give him any time to drink water. Let him suffer the bitterness!
She then laid him back down and tried to get up.
Her wrist was grabbed again, and she fell directly into Nelson’s arms.
His hoarse voice whispered in her ear, “Stay with for me.”
The warmth of his touch seeped through her clothes to her skin, making her frown. She tried to pull away but found that she couldn’t break free from his grip.
He never opened his eyes, but he knew it was her and held inside her even tighter.
He whispered, “Just for a while.”
Callie’s back stiffened, and she dared not move as she listened to his calming breaths.
Nelson gradually fell asleep, but it was hard for Callie. Even in sleep, his grip was strong. She used all her strength to find a more comfortable position.
When she looked up, Nelson’s face was right in front of her.
He was quiet in his sleep, a stark contrast to his stern and cold demeanor when awake. He looked almost cute.
His eyelashes trembled slightly, and his lips were tightly pressed together, still restless in his sleep.
As they were this close, Callie could see the stubble on his chin. It would be prickly to touch.
She watched him for a long time.
After the injection and medicine, Nelson began to sweat. After a while, when she touched him again, he was no longer burning up.
Taking advantage of his deep sleep, Callie got up to fetch a towel and wiped the sweat from his body.
While waiting for him to wake up, she sat by the window and noticed a folder next to his personal computer labeled “Blank.”
Callie paused.
It was the name of her studio.
Before she realized it, her inside the folder, it contained detailed plans for the studio.
Pages and pages of text, with notes written in pen where things needed improvement.
Callie read through it page by page and then looked at Nelson lying in bed, incredulous.
The president of Oconnor Group, who handled billion-dollar deals daily, had actually taken the time to create a plan for her studio.
In recent years, anything Nelson personally worked on was highly sought after in the market.
Callie couldn’t help but smile as she read. She hadn’t mentioned anything about her studio to him, yet Nelson had managed to draft a plan that was about eighty percent accurate.
On the last page, he had written a line in the blank space.
“I want to apologize to her. It’s my lack of attention to detail that ruined many of her expectations. I don’t know how to love.”
Nelson’s handwriting was usually quick and messy. The Paucaster Villa was filled with Oconnor Group documents with his scribbled signature.
But when he wrote carefully, his handwriting was beautiful.
This line conveyed a sense of “regret” in every stroke.
Callie thought that when it came to strategy, no one could outsmart Nelson. He had figured out her thoughts and knew she would see this.
As he wished, Callie finally believed that this time Nelson was here to apologize and atone.
She slowly closed the folder.
When you’re young, you shouldn’t meet someone too amazing.
This saying was true.
