“Pregnant? Did you mean our queen was pregnant?” they inquired. I was pregnant. I still couldn’t believe it. I was carrying my mate’s child. No wonder I couldn’t speak with Camilla. I guessed she was also weak. We were pregnant, and we had shifted for the first time to fight off the enemies. This was good news. I was so happy. I would become a mother soon.
Ethan lifted me and began rolling me around. He knelt and put his ear on my belly, unable to contain his joy.
“Our baby is in here,” he muttered happily. “Thank you, my love.”
Aiden tugged me to his chest. “My Queen, you don’t know how happy I am. Thank you for this wonderful gift. Thank you so much.”
“Cough! Cough!” The healer coughed.
“I think I need to be on my way, my king. My service is done here,” he said before walking out of the room.
“Thank you so much, Sir James,” they both cried out.
“This calls for celebration. We can’t wait to meet our little one,” they said.
I was not allowed to leave the bed. They took care of me. Was this what pregnant women went through? I was showered with gifts. Ethan always carried me to bathe me in the bathroom. He cleaned and dressed me up.
“You don’t need to lift a finger,” he said. “We are here to do all these jobs for you.”
Aiden fed me my food on the bed.
“I’m so full,” I groaned. “I need to do some exercise, darling.”
“You can’t do that, honey,” Ethan said. “You need to rest.”
“You guys have been doing everything for me for the past two days, honey,” I whispered. “I think I’m going to gain some weight at this rate. I need to exercise.”
“Okay, you will,” they said, “but we need to accompany you.”
They held my hand and led me to the garden. I was forced to sit, and they began to chat with me about the baby. What was the difference between being inside the room and being here?
“Baby, how are you feeling?” Ethan asked.
I smiled sweetly. “I’m fine.”
We chatted for a long time.
“I need to go back inside,” I announced.
“Okay, let’s go, honey,” Ethan said and lifted me.
My sister’s wedding was in two days, and I was unable to help her with anything. The former king and queen would be arriving today as well. They had been enjoying themselves in the human realm.
“I’m hungry. Can you get some food for me?” I asked my mates.
“Yes,” Ethan said happily as he rushed out of the room.
“Baby,” Aiden called, licking my earlobe. “I never regret the day I met you. Thank you for accepting us. I can’t wait to tell my parents the good news about the baby.”
“I have to go see my sister after eating, even if I can’t be of help to her. I should be there for her.”
“No worries, my Angel. We will drive you to your house,” he said.
Ethan came in with a tray of delicious meals.
“Time to eat, sweetheart,” he said as he started feeding me.
After eating, I took a nap before we went to my father’s house.
“You are here, Anne,” my father said.
The first person I met when we arrived was my father. He was busy talking to someone outside the house.
“Good evening, father,” I greeted him. My father hugged me tightly.
“My beautiful daughter,” he whispered.
“Good evening, father,” my mates greeted him.
“Good evening, my king,” he replied, bowing his head.
Was it necessary to bow his head just to greet my mates?
“You don’t need to bow for us, father,” they said. “We are family.”
“Sister!” Anna screamed as she rushed to hug me. “You are here!”
I smiled and returned her hug before saying, “How are you, sister? How’s your mate?”
“I’m fine, sister,” she replied. “Aamon is fine as well. I’m angry at you. Why don’t you come to check on me?”
“Let’s talk inside,” my father said.
Anna took her seat beside me as she started chatting with me.
“I miss you so much, sister,” she said. “And why don’t you check on me?”
“Why are you just coming now?”
“I’m sorry, my dear sister. I haven’t been feeling alright,” I let out.
My busy father immediately rushed to me when he heard what I told her.
He asked, “Tell me, baby, what is wrong with you?”
“Ah, father, I’m fine now,” I told my father, who was busy checking my body. He was worried.
“Father, there’s nothing wrong with her. Don’t be worried,” Aiden explained. “She’s only weak, and she’s getting better.”
“Why is she weak?” he asked them. “Why are you weak, Darling?”
Ethan smiled, proud that I was carrying their child.
“She’s pregnant, father,” he declared. “The pack healer told us the good news.”
“Oh, my goddess! Wow!” My sister exclaimed. “This is good news. Good! Good news! I’m so happy and proud of you, my darling sister. Congratulations, my king.”
My father went silent. He was smiling and suddenly lifted me. “I’m so grateful. I’m so happy for you, Anne.”
He did the same for my sister, Anna. I never knew he was so strong. I realized it when he lifted me as if it was nothing. My family loved me. Everyone around me loved me.
“Sister, where is your mate?” I asked when I didn’t see her possessive, loving mate.
“He’s no longer in our kingdom. He went back to prepare for the wedding,” she replied.
“Okay, he did the right thing,” I said.
We had a nice time with my family, and it was time for us to go back to the palace.
“We are leaving, father,” I said. He hugged me one more time before bidding us goodbye. Ethan drove us back to the palace.
We met our mother in the palace. They were back.
“Mother,” I rushed towards her. She gave me a motherly hug.
“My baby, I missed you,” she said.
“I missed you too, mother,” I replied.
“Come, I brought you so many things,” she said. “I’m sure you’re going to love them all.”
She led me to her room, where she showed me the beautiful things she brought for me.
“This is so beautiful,” I said.
I picked up a long red dress that was among the precious things she bought for me.
“I know you are going to love them. I took my time choosing all these gifts for you,” she muttered. “They are all yours, darling.”
“Thank you, mother,” I mumbled. “Thank you for the gifts.”
My mates walked in with their father. He was sending me a deadly glare.
“Oh, I forgot to tell you. Miller accompanied me to the shopping mall,” she whispered. “He helped out by helping me carry the gifts I bought.”
Jazz! No wonder he was sending me that deadly glare. He was unhappy.
“Thank you, my king,” I murmured.
“Mmm. Uhh,” he groaned.
“Mother, father, we have good news to share with you,” they began. “We just found out from the healer that our Queen is pregnant. She’s pregnant with our child.”
“Are you sure, sons?” she asked.
“Yes, Anne is pregnant with our baby,” Aiden announced.
She turned to me. “Thank you. Thank you for this wonderful gift of life. My gift is nothing compared to yours. I will also be a grandma,” she happily uttered. “I can’t wait to meet my grandchild.”
Mother was very happy. She kept thanking me. The king said nothing, but I could feel he was happy and pleased.
Everything went smoothly, and the D-day finally arrived: Anna’s wedding.
My sister was beautifully dressed in her wedding dress.
“You’re so pretty, sister,” I admired her.
“Thank you, sister,” she replied joyfully.
I watched as our new sister dressed her. She did her makeup so beautifully.
“Wow! You’re so beautiful, sister,” Amanda said.
(Remember, Amanda is their former maid and now their sister because their father adopted her.)
“Thank you, darling,” she smiled sweetly.
Father took her hand and walked her to where her mate was patiently waiting for her. He walked her down the aisle.
The wedding started and went on until the priest announced them as husband and wife. “You may now kiss your bride.”
Everyone was happy and congratulated them.
Anna was so happy. She finally found her beloved, the man she was going to spend the rest of her life with.
After the wedding, she left the kingdom with her mate.
“When will I be able to see her again?” I mumbled.
“Are you thinking about your sister?” they asked.
“Yes, I’m going to miss her so much,” I said, and I don’t know when I will see her again.
Ethan sighed. “You will see her soon, darling.”
“When?” I asked. “When is that?”
“We are having our wedding soon, and we’ll invite her,” they said. “Won’t you see her then? So don’t be sad, and you can always communicate with her through mind-linking if you miss her.”
“Oh yes, that’s true. I can always talk to my sister through the mind-link,” I said. “I almost forgot about it.”
Mother kept bringing me different kinds of healthy tonics.
“Drink this, darling. It’s good for you and the baby,” she said.
I never refused anything she gave me. She pampered me all day.
“Good, I can’t wait to see my grandchildren,” she said. “Have a good rest, my darling. Your body needs it.”
“Thank you, mother,” I smiled.
I’m blessed. She treats me like her own real daughter. She never makes me feel like I don’t have a mother I can call mine.
“Don’t thank me, baby. It’s my duty to care for and protect you as your mother,” she announced.
