Ethan and Aiden’s POV
Today was the happiest day of our lives. We finally found the spy among us. He turned out to be the brother of the girl our father had killed and left to decay. Everything he did was to seek revenge on our father. He went to the extent of forcing our sister Isabella to be mated to us. He begged for forgiveness, but our father never accepted his pleas and killed him on the spot. In our Lycan pack, members were either punished or killed. Rogue behavior was not tolerated.
Our father ruled his kingdom with strict rules, and no one dared to defy him. We were thrilled that we would be able to see and hold our mate’s hand every day. Although we were going back to school, we had to be cautious because we knew our father would likely send someone after us. With our pack problem resolved, he would focus on discovering who our mate was.
“Ethan, we have to protect her no matter what,” I told my brother.
“Even at the cost of my life,” he replied. “I will always protect her from any danger. I’m glad we’ll be going back to school soon.”
Ava’s POV
I walked down the hallway alone since my sister was at home, down with a fever. I wanted to stay with her and take care of her, but she insisted I go to school after giving her the medicine to take. The school would be boring without my sister.
The math teacher entered the room after I took my seat.
“Good morning, students,” he greeted, and we all replied in unison.
“We have a new student joining our class, and I want you all to be friendly towards him,” the teacher announced.
The new student walked in, and I was shocked to see who it was.
“Introduce yourself, new student,” the teacher instructed.
“Hello, everyone,” he said, winking. “My name is Lee Leo. Nice to meet everyone, and I hope we can be friends with each other,” he said, blowing a kiss.
What a flirt.
“Okay, you can take a seat anywhere you like,” the teacher said.
What the heck? Why is he walking towards me? What does he want from me? I hadn’t seen him since the party.
“Hi, do you still remember me?” he asked as he took a seat beside me.
“Sorry, I don’t know you. Who are you?” I asked.
“Oops, it seems you’ve already forgotten who I am. But don’t worry, we still have a long way to go, and we’ll get to know each other soon,” he stated, but I ignored him. I didn’t want anything to do with him. He gave off a bad vibe.
Finally, the class ended after what felt like forever. I stood up to go to the cafeteria but was dragged back by that dangerous guy.
“What do you think you’re doing? Who the hell are you?” I exclaimed.
“Easy, love. I just want us to be friends. I want to be your friend,” he said.
“Do I look like someone interested in being friends with you?” I retorted. “Go away, please.”
“I’ve never asked anyone to be friends with me before. You make me break my rules. You’re the first person who rejected me. Why are you so arrogant?” he asked, pushing me closer to him.
“Can you stop talking to me? I’m not interested in talking to you or being friends with you. Stay the hell away from me,” I stated firmly.
“Okay, I’ll give you some time, but I want you to know you’re mine. There’s no way you can escape from me,” he declared, but before he could finish his statement, he was suddenly punched by an unknown person.
“Who is yours?” a voice roared. “You’re trying to claim what is mine.”
I looked back to see Aiden and Ethan. They were back. I felt a mix of happiness and sadness. They didn’t love me; they had been keeping secrets from me.
“Who the hell are you?” Leo asked.
“Ava is mine. How dare you claim what is mine? Do you want to die?” Ethan spoke out.
“An ant like you is trying to claim what is supposed to be mine,” Leo sneered. “I saw her first, and I’ve already set my eyes on her. No one is allowed to snatch what is mine. This Lord here has already claimed her.”
Aiden walked towards Leo, grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, and whispered to him.
“Consider yourself lucky that we’re in school. The next time I see you with my woman or try to claim what is mine, I will rip your head away from your body,” he said.
“Oh,” Leo smirked. “What can you do? You’re just a weak human, and you dare threaten this Lord? I’m scared. Oh, I’m petrified. She is mine. She is my bride.”
“Enough! Can you stop all this already?” I spoke up. Aiden immediately let go of Leo and walked up to me.
“Hi, baby, we’re back,” they both said.
“And what should I do about that?” I said. They looked at me with confusion.
“What’s wrong, baby?” they asked.
“Did I say something’s wrong? Just let me be,” I said, walking away.
“Ava, wait, baby,” they called after me. I finally stopped.
“What do you want from me again? I must be a joke to you guys, right?” I said.
“Ha, we don’t understand what you’re talking about. Can you tell me what’s wrong, please?” Aiden asked.
“Why? Why did both of you lie to me? After I told you I wanted to build our relationship on trust, I still can’t believe you kept your secrets from me,” I said. “I already know everything.
“You rejected me because I’m human. You think I’m not good enough. Do you think I’m not worthy of you guys?”
“Brother, she knows. I told you we should tell her, but you refused. Look at what you caused,” Ethan’s mind linked to Aiden.
“We’re sorry, baby. Please forgive us. We were scared. We thought you’d reject us if you found out we’re not human,” they said.
“You’re not human? Then what are you? Are you werewolves?” I asked.
“No, no, we’re not,” Aiden stated.
“Then what are you? Tell me,” I insisted.
“We’re Lycans, and our father is the king of Lycans. As for the rejection, we’re scared of our father. If he found out you’re our mate and you’re human, he would have you killed,” Ethan explained.
“Oh, my God. Is your father crazy? You’re just my boyfriend, not my husband. I never said I’m getting married to you,” I uttered.
“You’re our fated mate, our future Queen. You shall rule beside us when we become Lycan kings, and we will protect and love only you forever,” they said.
My heart suddenly fluttered. They would love only me forever. They explained everything to me, and I understood they were only trying to protect me. I forgave them.
I was happy that we finally solved our problem, and everything was going well between us. Roy and Oliver were already in a relationship, and they were in love. They were always seen together. Roy, Aiden, Ethan, and I kissed, cuddled, and did a lot of crazy things together, but they never went further with me. They were waiting for the day when I would be ready.
We were out on a date.
“Aiden, Ethan, wait here for me. I want to get something,” I said.
“Okay, let’s go together,” they both said.
“No, it’s a surprise. I’ll be back. Wait for me here,” I told them as I placed a soft kiss on their foreheads.
I was walking alone when Leo suddenly appeared in front of me.
“Hey, I’m here to take what’s mine,” he sneered. “I’ve been waiting for you to be alone, and you finally gave me the chance to claim what’s mine.”
“Hey, what do you want?” I asked, getting scared. He was giving off a dangerous aura. We were all alone here. There was no one passing by. It was just him and me. Oh my God, I should have allowed them to come with me.
“Scared, right?” he sneered. “Don’t be, baby. But first, I have to taste your delicious blood.”
His eyes turned red like blood, and his fingers became long. His canines grew long and sharp.
My eyes went wider.
“W… What are you?” I stammered.
“I am Lord Leo, and you shall be my bride,” he said.
“Help me!” I screamed. “Aiden, Ethan, help me!”
He let out a horrible laugh. “Help you? Baby, no one is going to help you. Be obedient and don’t call those weak humans here if you don’t want them to be killed by me,” he said as he moved towards me. But he was suddenly knocked down by a gigantic creature.
“Oh my God, what have I gotten myself into? Another creature? Where are Aiden and Ethan?” I wondered as the unknown creature and Leo started fighting each other.
Before I knew it, Leo fell dead, his head ripped away from his body.
It’s over. Now it’s my turn. I’m going to get killed here.
The creature approached me. It was my turn to die.
