Ava’s POV
“Hi, Oliver,” Roy greeted her the following day at school.
It was another day in school. We met Roy as soon as we stepped down from the car.
“Oh, no! This stupid man whore again,” Oliver muttered.
“It’s okay, sister. I think you should try to get to know him better. Give him a chance. You won’t regret it,” I suggested.
“But I don’t like him and you know it,” she said.
“I know. I know you don’t like Roy, but try to give him a chance. Start by being friends with him.”
“Okay, sister. Anything for you. I’ll be friends with him,” she sighed.
“Thank you, sister. I will forever protect you from bad guys,” I said as I nuzzled her to my chest.
“Hi! Good morning, Oliver,” Roy greeted her.
“Good morning to you, Roy,” she answered back, as if she was compelled to do so.
“Ava, did I just hear her response to me? Oh my goodness! Am I in the dreamland? Am I dreaming? Oliver talked to me!” he chatted happily.
I smiled at the childish Roy. He was cute.
“You were not dreaming Roy, and yes, my sister answered you back. I hope you guys can stop fighting and be good friends.”
“Oliver,” he called her name, blushing. Oliver looked into his eyes.
“What?” she fired back.
“Oliver, be nice,” Ava said.
“What is it, Roy?” she gently asked.
“Can we be friends? Oliver, I promise I will never treat you badly, and I will cherish and respect you as my friend,” he said.
“Okay, I’ll be friends with you since my sister asked me to give you a chance to get to know you better. So don’t think it is me who is interested in being friends with you,” she mumbled.
“Okay, thank you for being friends with me and I know you won’t regret your decision,” he retorted. “Since we are friends now, can we go to the class at this moment?” I jokingly said.
The three of us walked down the school hallway. When we finally reached the classroom, I was supposed to take it.
“Oliver, I am having a class with Roy. I told her if you are over with her lecture. Come and find me for lunch.”
“Okay, sister,” she said. “I’ll be going now.”
“Bye Oliver,” Roy waved his hand, but she ignored him. Blockhead.
After the lecture with Mrs. Eva, my sister came jumping in my arms.
“Hi, sister. You seem happy. What is the deal?” I asked her.
“Can’t you cuddle me first, before asking? Well, I am happy, and I want to show someone who my sister belongs to. He has no chance with me here,” she said, turning, and throwing an eye dagger to where Roy was sitting and watching us. I realized who she was talking about.
“Sister, stop being childish. You are a grown up already, and I don’t think Roy is interested in me because I do tell him about my boyfriends. I think he is more interested in my sister, so I clarified everything with her.”
“Oh, stop joking sister. Don’t you see how girls flocked around him? His look and his smile screamed he is a playboy. And why would a playboy be interested in me? And he can never handle me,” she arrogantly said.
“He can’t handle you. I don’t understand you,” I asked.
“Yes sister, he can’t handle a tough girl like me because I would never agree to anything he says.”
“Oh, now I get it. Oliver, do you like him?” I asked her, but she flared up as if I said something wrong, before saying it.
“No! I don’t like him. Why should I like someone like him and stop teasing me, sister?”
“All right? Okay, okay. I won’t talk about him again, but I’m not teasing you. The way he looks at you, that gaze. But since you don’t like him, I will stop talking about him,” I said.
“Good sister, stop talking about him, and let’s go and eat our lunch,” she said as she dragged me.
“Where are you girls heading to?” Roy asked as he walks toward us.
“None of your business,” Oliver said.
“Sister, be nice,” I told her.
“We are heading to the cafeteria to eat our lunch,” Oliver said.
“Can I join you, girls? If you don’t mind,” he said.
“We mind, don’t join us,” my sister said.
“Of course, Roy. You’re welcome to join us,” I told him, smiling.
“But, why sister? Why can he join us? I don’t like him,” Oliver said.
“Oliver. I am not forsaking you, my darling sister. I just want you guys to stop fighting, please?”
“Promise?” she said, showing me her hand for a pinky promise.
“I promise you, sister,” I said, and the three of us headed to the cafeteria to eat.
Oliver was no longer mad at Roy. It was a new week again and everything was going smoothly until one particular day, a bitch walked up to my sister.
Her name was Evelyn. She was one of the girls who were in love with Roy, who proclaimed herself as the queen of the campus.
Oliver and I were chatting when Evelyn approached us. She slammed her hand on my desk. Her face was smashed with layers of the makeover.
“Hey, are you one of Roy’s toys he is fucking fooling around with?” she pointed at her, with her long artificial fingers. “Let me tell you. Do you ever think you can snatch Roy away from me? He’s mine and mine to fuck. You have nothing to attract him. Your boobs are flat, just like bones. You’re in bad shape. Your skin is not flawless like mine. I know he’s just fooling around with you. When he is fed up with you, he will come back to me.”
“Are you done?” I asked her, standing on my feet.
“Sister, it’s okay. I can handle this since she walks in here herself to warn me. I think I should prepare a send-back gift for her,” Oliver stated.
“You want to prepare a gift for me?” she asked. “Who do you think you are? You are just a lowlife and a dirty girl whose parents are poor”
Before she could finish what she was about to say, Oliver sent her away.
“Wow!” I heard our classmates mutter.
I was shocked. This was the first time Oliver fought. She was exactly like a badass girl. She arrogantly walked to where Evelyn was, struggling and holding her belly on the floor. She hauled her long hair and enunciated.
“Next time you do this to me, prepare yourself. I will make you regret coming to me. And the useless guy, Roy isn’t worthy of lifting my shoe, talk more about him being my boyfriend. I’m not interested in him or his shadows,” she sai before whacking the beauty queen on her nose.
“Blood, blood!” she cried out before she fainted.
