Aiden’s POV
What went wrong? Why were we Isabella’s mates? For goodness’ sake! She was our little sister, our baby sister. I didn’t want anyone else but Ava. I didn’t need any woman to replace my love. Rescinding her would be best for all of us.
“Aiden, can I talk to you?” Anna asked, stopping me from trancing.
“Why? What do you want to talk about? Say it fast. I have a lot to do,” I hissed.
“Aiden, what’s the problem? What’s happening between us? What did I do wrong to deserve your ill-treatment?”
“Don’t you get it, Anna? I’m no longer interested in you. Let us both go our separate ways,” I grumbled.
“Why? What is it about me that you abhor? Tell me, Aiden, and I will change. I will change for you,” she cried out.
“Are you saying you’ll change for me?” I repeated, giving off a cold aura. “Why? We mean nothing to each other. We didn’t have a relationship to begin with. We’re only fucking each other for fun, but you make it known to the rest of the pack by spreading rumors about us dating. Do you think I’m unaware of your intentions? I do, Anna. I know everything, but I chose to stay silent.”
“What are my intentions, Aiden? How can you be so cruel to me? Is it my fault that I’m in love with you? Is it my fault that I want to be with you? Why are you acting this way? What has changed in you?” she shrieked.
“Could you please stop shrieking at me? Nothing has changed. This is me from the beginning, and please keep your distance from me. I have a mate I’m in love with,” I said, sneering at her startled face.
“What? Don’t tell me you’re in love with your sister. This is absurd, Aiden! It’s a forbidden relationship.”
“Who told you I was talking about my little sister? Do you have anything else to say, Anna? If you don’t, I’m going to leave. I’m too busy to get involved in this type of useless chat. Stay away from me from now on. I don’t want my mate to get a different idea about us if I bring her to the pack,” I stated before sauntering away from her.
“Don’t you dare walk away from me, Aiden!” she screamed. “Tell me, who is that bitch? Tell me her name. I need to know what kind of person is squabbling with me for your love.”
I came to a halt and turned to handle her, my fist clenched.
“Bitch? You called my mate a bitch? How dare you? Count yourself lucky that I don’t smash women because I could have mercilessly whacked that hideous face of yours. If you dare to call my mate, your future queen, a bitch again, I don’t mind shredding your head off your body,” I growled, threatening her.

Anna’s POV
I flopped down on the floor, watching him disappear from view. I had never seen Aiden like this before. He looked like a monster, ready to amputate me apart.
How did it get to this point?
Aiden was never this way. He was a nice guy, and I knew he loved me. He was just conceived. He just had a sudden change of heart. He’d come back to me. That bitch must have bewitched him. She must have casted dark magic on him.
Aiden had always been mine. I was the right Lycan woman to be crowned and reign alongside him as his queen. This was the kind of dream I wished for. Everyone in the pack already regarded me as their future queen. Both the queen and the king adored me as well.
Even if Aiden never told me he loved me, I was never wrong. I knew he loved me a lot. He was just waiting for the right moment to tell me, and I was waiting for the day when I would rule over the Lycans as their queen. I wanted everyone to bow down at my feet. I wanted every one of them to worship the ground I walked on.
He was destined to be mine. Aiden belonged to me. I’d kill whoever stood in our way. I needed to figure out who the hell she was.
Was she a witch, a werewolf, a lycan, or a vampire?
I didn’t care who the hell she was. All I knew was that she had to perish. She must die.

Lycan King’s POV
What was going on with my children? My little girl was Aiden and Ethan’s fated mate. Something wasn’t right. Something was erroneous somewhere.
Who was fiddling with my family? I was unable to unravel who was working for the rogues, and another problem surfaced. I underestimated my foe. I wasn’t sure how Mia was dealing with the difficulties we were having. I couldn’t feel her emotions through the mate bond. I must check on her right away.
I moved as fast as my legs could carry me into the bedroom I shared with my mate. I opened the door and heard her sobs. Mia was sobbing.
“Mia, my love,” I called her. “Why are you crying? What’s the problem?”
“Miller, are you asking me what’s the problem? Are you pretending not to understand what’s going on, or do you just choose to ignore everything?!” she yelled in my face.
“I’m sorry, my love. I’m not ignoring what’s happening to us. I’m sorry if I made you feel like that,” I apologized, trying to tug her to my chest, but she pulled away.
“Let me go, Miller. Leave me alone! I’m too sad to be intimate with you. My children, they are each other’s mates. What is happening? Who have I offended, Miller? Why did the Moon Goddess do this to me? Why?!” Mia screamed.
I could feel all of her emotions; her pain, fear, and anguish. I was devastated that she had been hurt. What could I do to make her feel better?
“I will do everything in my power to make this right. You just have to believe me. Trust me on this, my queen,” I whispered.
“I should put my trust in you. You have a lot of enemies who want you dead. You made enemies all over the world of werewolves and Lycans. You’ve been called numerous names. You went to war, shedding blood. I advised you on this, but you never heeded. I advised you to stop declaring wars. I’m sure if I hadn’t been your queen, you would have waged war on my brother’s pack. You were so brutal and selfish that you never considered us. I warned you, but you never listened. Look at what is happening right now, and you expect me to trust you? Why should I put my trust in a man who never listens to anyone’s advice?” she howled, her eyes firing with rage.
I was lip-tightened. I was at a loss for words. I should have listened to her. I should have heeded her advice. If I did, maybe I’d have fewer enemies who were all after my life right now. I was well aware that they were constantly after my life, but no one dared to openly oppose me. They only lured me into the darkness to plot their evil schemes, and I vowed to show them no mercy.
“Idiot. This is not the time to be thinking about whom to kill or not. We have a problem at hand. We have to figure out how to amuse our angry mate,” my demon snapped.
I almost forgot about my angry mate. My rage consumed and dazzled me to the point where I forgot to gratify my mate.
“I’m sorry, my queen. I know I’m wrong. I should have listened to you. I should never have waged or declared war,” I apologized as I drew her into another hug, coaxing her. “I promise you, Mia, I will always listen to you. I will make things right, and I will never disappoint you again.”
She didn’t respond. She only nodded her head and leaned her chin against my shoulders.
Two weeks after.
We had been looking for a clue for two weeks and had come up empty-handed every time. I was getting frustrated, and Isabella was screaming and pleading with me to let her out. She told me she needed to see her mates.
This was fake. Someone was playing a trick on us because Aiden and Ethan had no feelings for her, and the mate bond was supposed to affect both sides, not just her. My little one was the only one who was suffering.
Who did this to her? She was just a young girl who was eager to meet her chosen one. It pained me to see her in the dungeon, screaming and yelling, and seeing Mia in such an awful spot made my heart bleed. I’d never seen her smile so genuine again. It faded away, and she was no longer smiling. She was not the same woman I had met before. She started being moody all the time, and I hated to see her like that. I knew she was like this because of her children.
My twins and warriors, including myself, Beta, and my third-in-command, had been scouring for a hint to entice our enemies, but we had failed. It was as if the enemy had never existed in the first place.
