Chapter 56

MONALISA P. O. V

After a lengthy journey, the car came to a stop in front of Mob Bobby’s mansion. I swiftly unbuckled my seatbelt and attempted to exit the car, but Doven grabbed my arm, preventing me. I looked up at him.

“What’s wrong?” I inquired, frowning. I was curious as to why he was holding onto my arm.

He gazed at me as if studying my facial expression, “You’ve changed,” he murmured, shaking his head, “a lot.”

I let out a dry chuckle, gazing out the window and sucking on my lower lip. After a few minutes, I returned my gaze to him. “In what way?”

“Your attitude has changed. I can see the hate and disdain in your eyes, no matter how much you try to hide it. I know your anger and feelings are related to Gardy’s death, but why are you taking it out on Derek?” He said, releasing his grip on my hand.

When Derek’s name was mentioned, my blood ran cold and my face turned emotionless as I shot him a murderous glare. “We’re not having this conversation,” I said, trying to walk away in anger.

However, he unexpectedly grabbed me and pulled me towards him, locking his lips on mine for the second time, I remembered.

His lips softly pressed against mine, and he sucked on my lower lip, but I didn’t respond because I didn’t want him to think I enjoyed his kisses whenever he pleased.

“You don’t have to kiss me whenever you want. Understand?” I pulled away forcefully and shouted in his face.

I was disgusted that he always did that without asking for my permission. Without hesitation, I pushed him away and stormed out of the car, slamming the door to show my anger.

I crossed my bag over my neck and walked towards the gate, which opened automatically, allowing me to enter the mansion. I didn’t look back as I walked in.

I entered through the main door and pushed it open without knocking since it wasn’t locked. As I walked towards the sitting area, I heard whispering that made me stop in my tracks. I tried to listen to the voices, tiptoeing closer and leaning in to catch their conversation.

“Did you talk to your son about what you found? Did you talk to him about the girl from thirteen years ago?” San asked Bobby.

“Yeah, I told him to find the girl, who is now a lady, and kill her,” Bobby responded nonchalantly.

Instantly, I knew they were talking about me, so l listened to them attentively.

“And he agreed? I thought the last time, he told us that he would never soil his hands with innocent blood. How then did you manage to convince him?” That was the voice of the betrayal, asking.

That dick-sucking bastard!

I heard Bobby chuckle softly, “I have my ways with my son. I used his most precious possessions and threatened him with it. I guess he had no option but to obey my order,” he bragged, and they all laughed out loud.

I clenched my fist in anger, trying to resist the urge to barge in on them. I was stunned to hear that Bobby shamelessly involved Derek in his evil act and bragged about it. They all must pay, and their children will pay too.

I took a deep breath to calm my nerves and softly knocked on the door, but there was no response. I chuckled inwardly, shaking my head. “Bunch of old fools,” I muttered through clenched teeth as I knocked harder.

“Come in,” Bobby said. I quickly entered, forcing a fake smile. I sat down next to Bobby and suddenly I received a message from Peter.

(IDAN AND STEFAR IN MY CUSTODY) his message read. I smirked as I read it from my phone.

(I’m here with their father. Torture them beyond recognition and send a picture to their fathers. Don’t make it too sensitive, I don’t want San and Robert to die of heartbreak yet. We still have a lot to catch up.) I replied and sent it to him.
He instantly messaged back. (OKAY, MONALISA), popped up on my phone.

I quickly stashed it in my bag and looked up to see them staring at me. I burst into laughter to avoid their suspicious and intimidating gaze.

“Derek doesn’t want to come with me, so I was texting him to explain,” I said, retrieving my phone and waving it at them.

They all nodded in agreement and chimed in with laughter, “I really admire your relationship with Derek. You both make a nice couple, though.” I smirked as the betrayal chimed in.

“Bobby, you need to start preparing for a wedding,” San added, and they all nodded in agreement.

Suddenly, Bobby cleared his throat and asked, “Joanna, I didn’t see your moon-shaped necklace around your neck. Did you take it off?” He inquired with furrowed eyebrows.

My hand instinctively reached for my neck and I realized my necklace was missing. I was puzzled as I couldn’t recall where I had placed it. Then, my thoughts went back to my conversation with Diane and I remembered that I had taken it off and given it to her.

Damn! I forgot to retrieve it from her. I hope she keeps it safe until I return.

“I left it…” I trailed off.

“No way!” San screamed, his eyes glued to his phone screen, almost falling off his seat in shock as his eyes widened.

“What’s wrong? What happened?” They all asked in unison, on high alert.

San broke into tears. “L-Look at my son. W-who did this to him,” he sputtered as tears streamed down his face. He raised his phone screen for all of us to see, his son’s image displayed boldly, covered in blood. “Who did this to my son, Idan!” he cried and slumped back into his seat, sobbing harder.

‘Woah! Peter did a fantastic job. This was just the beginning. I was impressed.’

Robert erupted into laughter, surprising
everyone with his amusement at the situation.

“These are clearly faked They’re just trying to scam you out of money. Have you tried calling him?” he suggested once he had regained his composure.

With trembling hands, San attempted to call his son, but there was no answer, after so many attempts, causing him to become even more anxious. “He’s not picking up!” he shouted in frustration.

I made so many efforts to stifle the laughter bubbling up in my throat. I wanted to avoid raising suspicion, so I remained calm and quietly observed the situation. As everyone appeared tense.

After some minutes, San’s cell phone rang out loudly. “Idan is calling me back. I hope he’s okay. He’s my everything,” San shrieked as his eyes sparkled with some little hope in them, and his hands shaking as he answered the call.

“Stop talking nonsense and pick up the call. Idan is perfectly fine. Don’t forget to put the call on speaker,” Tony scolded, urging him to pick up his son’s call.

San nodded and picked up the call, turning on the speaker so we could hear the caller talking.

“Idan, my child. Are you okay? Are you hurt?” San bombarded the caller with questions.

“Relax. Relax. Relax. Your son is unable to talk or move a finger. The person I sent to you a few minutes ago was indeed your son,” Peter’s voice boomed loudly on the phone speaker. “I just sent you a video,” he quickly added.

Instantly, a message popped up on his phone, and he turned to show us his screen. He played the video for everyone to see. The video showed his son being tortured, with Peter’s face well covered by a mask.

Perfect!

San began to plead, “How much do you want? Please spare my son. I will pay whatever you ask.” He yelled in desperation.

Peter chuckled softly and replied, “I don’t want your money. I want his life.” He then disconnected the call, leaving San speechless.

“Hello? Hello? You can’t kill my son!” San yelled out frantically at the caller, unaware that the call had been disconnected. He turned back to us with bloodshot eyes. “My son can’t die.

Bobby, you have to help me, please.” He quickly knelt in front of Bobby, begging with tears in his eyes.

Everyone was stunned as Bobby gently shook his head….”I can’t help you.” He answered nonchalantly, without feeling any remorseful about the situation.
