“Elder Carmelo, do you know him?” asked the guard, stunned.
Before he could finish his sentence, the elder’s eyes narrowed slightly, and the guard was instantly thrown a thousand meters away, crashing heavily and spitting out blood.
“Mr. Billy is an esteemed guest of our Shadow Hall. How dare you be disrespectful? If it happens again, you will die!” The elder glanced at the guard.
Turning to Billy, he said, “Mr. Billy, please forgive any discourtesy in our welcome!”
“It doesn’t matter,” Billy replied with a faint smile.
Seeing the elder’s reaction confirmed Billy’s suspicions. He had suspected that after his last encounter with Shadow Hall, they had begun to question his identity. Now it seemed he was right.
“What brings you here?” the elder asked.
“I have two friends who were captured by Shadow Hall. I wonder if you could do me the favor of releasing them?” Billy asked with a smile.
“Who are Mr. Billy’s friends?” the elder inquired.
“The eldest lady and second daughter of Gate of Serenity,” Billy responded.
“As far as I know, Mr. Billy has only recently arrived in Deadland. When did you become friends with the Pearson sisters?” the elder asked with a smile.
“It felt like we had known each other forever,” Billy replied with a smile.
“Mr. Billy, what a good joke,” the elder laughed as well.
After a brief pause, he continued, “The Pearson sisters are honored guests of our young master. If Mr. Billy doesn’t mind waiting inside, I will go and seek his permission.”
“Sure,” Billy agreed.
“Mr. Billy, please,” the elder gestured invitingly.
Soon, they arrived at a grand hall within the estate.
“Mr. Billy, please wait here while I seek our young master’s permission,” the elder said with a slight bow.
“Thank you,” Billy replied with a faint smile.
The elder then left, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.
About fifteen minutes later, footsteps echoed as a group of people entered.
Leading them was a man who appeared to be in his forties, with a handsome but pale face and an aura of coldness. This man was none other than Sonny Joseph, the young master of Shadow Hall.
Billy assessed Sonny’s cultivation level; it was quite impressive-third-rank Mystic Kun Realm.
Among the group following Sonny, the highest cultivation level belonged to an elder at fifth-rank Mystic Kun Realm, including the elder who had greeted Billy earlier.
“Mr. Billy, let me introduce our young master,” the elder said to Billy.
“I’ve heard much about you, Mr. Billy. It’s an honor to meet you,” Sonny Joseph said.
“The honor is mine,” Billy replied with a smile.
“You’ve come for Miss Pearson and Miss Janelle?” Sonny asked.
“Exactly,” Billy responded. “I wonder if you could…”
“Of course,” Sonny interrupted smoothly. “However, I have a small request. I hope Mr. Billy can oblige.”
“What is it?” Billy asked with a faint smile.
“I heard that you possess three volumes of the Heaven Book,” Sonny continued. “Would you be willing to part with one? One Heaven Book for one person.”
“Only the Heaven Book?” Billy smiled again. “I also have the Nine Dragons Cauldron. Are you not interested?”
“I know my limits. The Nine Dragons Cauldron is beyond my reach. Even if you gave it to me, it would be useless,” Sonny replied.
“You are quite perceptive,” Billy responded with a smile. “What if I refuse to give you the Heaven Book?”
“Then I’m afraid Mr. Billy will leave empty-handed,” Sonny replied with a smile.
“In that case, I won’t trouble you any further,” Billy said and headed for the door without hesitation.
Sonny thought to himself: Is he really leaving? Not following the script?
“Mr. Billy, please wait!” Sonny called out as he followed him.
“Is there something else?” Billy asked.
“There is indeed something I want to ask you,” Sonny said, fixing his gaze on him. “Ten days ago, did you visit Soul Valley?”
“I did, and I asked your people for two bottles of soul water. Why?” Billy responded.
“You know what I’m asking about,” Sonny said, narrowing his eyes. “I admire how you managed to steal all the soul water right under everyone’s noses.”
“But that soul water took us countless years to accumulate. Taking it all at once seems rather unfair.”
“I don’t understand what you’re talking about,” Billy replied.
“How about this? I won’t ask you to return all of it-just half. How about that?” Sonny suggested.
“I’m curious, how are you so sure I took your soul water?” Billy responded.
“Enough games, Mr. Billy!” said the fifth-rank Mystic Kun Realm elder sternly. “Our young master has been very patient. Don’t push your luck!”
“In the past month, only you have come from outside to Deadland. There couldn’t be anyone else!”
“If you don’t return the soul water today, you won’t leave here alive!”
“So you’re resorting to force?” Billy glanced at him. “Let’s see if you have what it takes to stop me!”
With that, he took to the air.
“Stop him!” the fifth-rank Mystic Kun Realm elder shouted as he pursued him into the air, forming a seal with his hand and hurling it at Billy.
Billy’s eyes narrowed as he countered with a slash of his blade.
After a loud clash, Billy was thrown seven or eight kilometers away, spitting blood as he steadied himself and flew towards the estate gate without hesitation.
“Block him!” Sonny Joseph commanded as his followers moved towards Billy.
In a few blinks of an eye, several men and women surrounded Billy.
“Move aside!” Billy slashed at one of them, a first-rank Mystic Kun Realm cultivator.
“Overestimating yourself!” The first-rank Mystic Kun Realm cultivator didn’t retreat but countered with a punch.
The blade flashed, and an arm flew into the air amidst a spray of blood as the man groaned and was sent flying back.
“You deserve to die!” As Billy attacked, a third-rank Mystic Kun Realm woman punched at him.
Billy barely had time to block her attack with his arm.
After another loud clash, Billy was sent flying several kilometers away again, his breath becoming erratic.
Meanwhile, another fourth-rank Mystic Kun Realm elder launched an attack at him with thunderous force.
Billy’s eyes narrowed as he countered with full strength using Slaughter Sky.
Both attacks exploded at the same time, sending both combatants flying several kilometers back and worsening Billy’s injuries.
“A fourth-rank Controlled Kun Realm cultivator with such combat power-impressive!” The third-rank Mystic Kun Realm woman shouted. “But you’ve picked the wrong opponent! Shadow Hall is not where you can act recklessly!”
With that, she formed a seal with her hands, causing the void to crack inch by inch.
This time, instead of confronting her head-on, Billy spat blood and activated Nether Wings to dodge aside.
Despite reacting quickly, he was still thrown four or five kilometers by the shockwave’s aftermath.
