Callie’s eyes lit up, and she suddenly shouted, “Help! I don’t know this person, someone help me!”
Nelson was stunned for a moment.
By the time he reacted, it was too late. Two traffic police officers had already rushed over, cuffing Nelson’s hands behind his back and pressing him down with their batons.
Callie fell to the ground, her arm hitting the pavement.
“What are you doing! Kidnapping a woman in broad daylight!”
Nelson had never been treated like this before. If he hadn’t been caught off guard, these two wouldn’t have been a match for him. He sneered, “If you want trouble, let go of me!”
The officers, dedicated to serving the people, couldn’t tolerate such threats and tightened their grip. “You’re quite arrogant. You look decent, but your behavior is terrible!”
“Miss, tell us what’s going on.”
Callie rubbed her hand. This was her only chance to get rid of Nelson. She opened her mouth but couldn’t utter a word when she met Nelson’s restrained, bloodshot eyes.
The roadside had been cleared, and no one dared to watch. If this got filmed and posted online, it would cause a scandal involving luxury cars.
The traffic police urged her. “Speak up, miss. Who is he to you?”
Callie snapped back to reality. “I… I don’t know him…”
Nelson’s gaze could have devoured her, seemingly saying, “Fine, well done.”
The officers tightened their grip even more. “Kidnapping a woman? This car probably isn’t legally obtained either. The police will be here soon; you can explain it to them.”
Nelson’s fierce appearance was typical of high society, something these officers had never encountered. They only saw a good-looking but bad man.
Nelson finally cursed under his breath, “Idiot…”
They heard him. “What did you say?”
He raised his voice and repeated, “I said idiot!”
“You punk!”
Nelson’s aura was overwhelming. Callie breathed rapidly, stepping back slowly, hoping to leave.
When the police arrived, it would take time to communicate and mediate. She could use that time to get into a car and leave. Nelson might not find her.
Even if he did, delaying a few days would be good enough.
Nelson saw her intent to flee and suddenly stood up, kicking the two officers holding him several steps away.
Callie couldn’t move anymore. She wasn’t worried about herself but about the two officers who helped her. If Nelson sought revenge later, he could ruin their families.
She wasn’t as cold-blooded as he was and stood frozen in place.
The officers couldn’t tolerate such provocation and immediately engaged Nelson in a few rounds of combat. Nelson narrowly won.
They realized one thing: this man was trained, making the possibility of kidnapping even more likely.
They exchanged glances.
Nelson freed himself, shaking his hand. His eyes were fixed solely on Callie as he walked towards her with a determined expression.
He uttered four cold words, “Come back with me.”
The police car drew nearer. Callie’s breathing quickened, her pale collarbone visible as she shook her head slowly, staring intently behind him.
One of the officers raised his baton and struck Nelson’s back hard. He finally let out a muffled groan, and Callie’s heart clenched.
The police arrived and restrained Nelson. “Is this the man causing trouble?”
Nelson lifted his head silently.
He kept staring at Callie, his gaze burning into her. She turned her head away in fear.
