“Kenneth Young,” Susan explained.
The name wasn’t familiar to Hannah, but the last name reminded her of someone.
“He’s Sarah Young’s brother. Your husband’s ex-girlfriend,” Susan continued.
Hannah immediately felt uneasy. Why was Alden working with a company connected to Sarah’s family? Was it intentional or just a coincidence?
However, Hannah tried to think logically. In the business world, such things could happen. Personal matters shouldn’t interfere with work. Besides, didn’t Alden say that there was nothing between him and Sarah anymore? Everything he felt for that woman was gone.
Hannah had no reason to worry. Or did she?
“Hannah, are you okay?” Susan asked, noticing Hannah had gone silent. Susan looked guilty. “I shouldn’t have brought this up. I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay, Susan. I was just trying to remember if Alden ever mentioned Goldtime, but I don’t think he did.”
“Don’t worry about it. I only overheard it, and that was wrong.”
“So, Alden told Bernard?”
Susan nodded. “What I heard from Mr. Gulfman was that there was nothing to worry about, even though Kenneth is part of Giantic’s board.”
Hannah understood that maybe Alden was concerned that Sarah’s family would mix personal issues with business.
“Alright, I should get back to work,” Susan stood up. “Don’t worry, Hannah. Your husband won’t think about going back to Sarah. You’re the one who helped him become the man he is now.”
Hannah smiled. “Thank you, Susan.”
Susan left the room, and Hannah sat there, chin in hand. Even though she didn’t want to think about Sarah’s family, she couldn’t help but feel a bit anxious. No one knew where Sarah or her family went. But suddenly, they appeared again.
It was as if the universe didn’t want Hannah to have a peaceful life.
“Everything will be fine,” Hannah muttered to herself.
Just as Hannah was about to resume her work, her phone rang. When she looked at the screen, it was Alden calling.
“Hello, sweetheart,” Hannah greeted cheerfully.
“Hi, darling. Can you come home early today? Around three or four, I’ll pick you up from the office.”
“I just got to work, and you want me to come home early?” Hannah chuckled softly.
“I miss you.”
“Don’t be silly.”
“Alright, there’s a gala dinner tonight with representatives from Giantic and Goldtime. I don’t want to go alone because you’re my wife,” Alden paused, “and the owner of Texco, of course.”
“Hmm… You want to introduce Texco to Giantic?”
“You can read my mind.”
“Alright.” Hannah nodded. “Pick me up at three.”
“Okay, see you later.”

Alden arrived at Texco just before three in the afternoon. After Hannah said goodbye to Susan, she hurried downstairs to meet her husband. Alden quickly drove her to a boutique in downtown Summerhill, and Hannah was sure he was going to buy her another dress.
“I still have dresses; why are you buying me another one?” Hannah sighed as she got out of the car.
Alden didn’t answer right away. He got out of the car, then took his wife’s arm and walked toward the luxurious boutique in front of them.
“All your dresses have been worn,” Alden whispered.
“Yes, and? What’s wrong with wearing them again?”
“No, I don’t want you to wear them. You need to wear something new.”
“That’s not very economical.”
Alden just pinched Hannah’s nose and said nothing more.
They were greeted by a saleswoman who immediately provided very friendly service. She showed various dresses in different styles, but Hannah was more interested in a white dress, with covered shoulders, reaching down to her ankles.
“Why not buy the black one? You look sexy in it,” Alden teased.
Hannah squinted her eyes. “You want me to be seen by many people in such a skimpy outfit? Fine, I don’t mind.”
“Don’t.” Alden immediately hugged Hannah from behind. “I don’t want anyone looking at you and fantasizing. You’re mine alone.”
The saleswoman held back a smile, seeing Alden and Hannah’s affection.
After buying the dress, Alden took Hannah to a salon and spa. Despite Hannah’s protests, Alden insisted she go for a beauty treatment. Hannah stood next to the car, pouting.
“I can do my hair at home, sweetheart.”
“No. Go to the salon, spa, and do whatever you want. I’ll pick you up at seven.”
“But…”
“I’ll pick you up when you’re ready,” Alden said before he went back home.
Hannah just sighed softly because she wasn’t very comfortable going to the spa and salon. Though it was actually quite important. A woman who takes care of herself will be more charming because both her soul and body are well-maintained.
Finally, Hannah entered the salon and did what Alden asked.

Hannah was already wearing her new dress, her hair styled, and makeup done. The makeup artist smiled, pleased with her work.
“You look gorgeous, dear.” The makeup artist gently patted Hannah’s back.
As Hannah stood and headed toward the cashier, she saw someone hurriedly leaving the dressing room. The woman’s hair was blonde and half-wet. She was wearing a short red dress, very sexy and sensual.
Hannah was shocked to see her.
“Sorry, I must have caused a ruckus, right?” The woman chuckled softly, and even her voice sounded so sweet.
Hannah just shook her head. “Ah, not at all.”
“Today’s event was so sudden. I have to attend the gala dinner. Luckily, my regular salon here could still help with my makeup and hair,” she said at length.
“Ah, yes… quite a coincidence.” Hannah was really awkward, not knowing what to say.
“Your dress is so beautiful. You’ll definitely be the center of attention,” the woman complimented, winking at Hannah.
“Thank you.”
She extended her hand to Hannah. “I’m Sarah.”
Sarah Young, Hannah couldn’t believe it.
“I just arrived in Summerhill after a long time away.”
“Nice to meet you.” Hannah shook her hand.
“Sorry for taking up your time. Well, good luck with your event tonight.”
“Sure.”
Hannah hurried to the cashier and paid with mixed feelings. Her body felt so cold, and she wanted to get out of there quickly.
Why did she come? Why? Those questions swirled in Hannah’s mind, and she felt very uneasy.
Hannah waited for Alden to pick her up by the roadside. Should she cancel attending the dinner? Because she was sure Sarah was also going to the gala dinner.
