VIKTOR
Knock.
Knock.
Knock.
“Are you going to answer that or do I have to kill someone this morning?” Rowna grunts from over my chest, her eyes still closed in sleep.
“I might settle for the killing,” I tell her grumpily as I slowly blink open
A glance at my alarm clock tells me it is just past five.
In the goddamn morning.
Death, it is.
Knock.
Knock.
Knock.
With an annoyed growl, I get off the bed and stall toward the door.
“What?!” I snarl as I pull it open.
Andre rears back from me with a wide eyed look.
“Whoah!” He says. “Calm down. Why are you in such a mood?”
“It is barely five in the morning and you are asking me that?” I growl at him
“You have been up earlier than this before!”
“Well, I didn’t have my beautiful mate sleeping by my side before, did I?!”
“All right, fair point. I am sorry.”
“Just tell me what was so urgent that it couldn’t wait.”
“Ah, right. Dominic is here.”
It is… beyond annoying how almost all my problems and issues seem to revolve around that man.
“What does he want?”
“He is demanding for his wolf,” he answers.
Right.
Tommy.
“Tell him to get lost,” I say
“What?”
“Tell him to get lost and come back at a more reasonable time.”
“He is not going to agree to that,” he responds.
“Well, too bad. I am not attending to anyone a second before nine. Am I clear?”
“Crystal.”
“Good, now get lost,” I tell him before slamming the door and heading back to bed.
“Was that wise?” Rowan asks as I pull her into an embrace
“What do you mean?”
“Leaving Dominic out there. He might get destructive.”
“As long as he does his destruction outside my pack, I don’t care.”
“Hmm, fair point.”
“Glad you agree. Now, go back to sleep,” I murmur into her hair.
Her chuckles rumble over my chest and lull me to sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Is he still there?” I ask as both I and Rowan head down the stairs
Andre as well as three other wolves and Lisa are waiting by the stairs, all of them sporting matching scowls, except Lisa, who just looks amused.
“Yes, he is still there and he is a bloody nuisance!” He answers.
“He has been threatening to take our heads and throw our bodies to dogs all morning,” another says. “What does he think this pace is? His pack?”
“Can we hit him?” The last wolf asks. “Please. just one blow and I will be satisfied.”
“Unfortunately, I can’t permit that,” I say. “But don’t worry, we will take it from here.”
As I and Rowan walk past, I notice the curious looks they send towards her.
I am going to have to address why the leader of the rogues is still in my house and sleeping in my bed.
If they were smart, some of them would have figured out the truth by now and are just waiting for me to confirm it.
Later.
Right now we have a nuisance to attend to.
We head towards the gate and before we can even get there we can hear the madman raging.
Seeing him in person is even more amusing.
His eyes are red while his hair is dishevelled.
His claws are partially elongated and he is trying to break down the gates.
“What in the blazes is going on here?” I demand
“You!” He snarls. “Did you not know I was here?”
“Did you not know normal, sane prowl would be sleeping by that time?” I retort. “I mean we are not even remotely close enough that I would get out of bed for you, why would you even think that would happen.”
“Give me my wolf!” He snarls.
“What wolf?”
“The one you have locked up! I know you do”
“Ah, you mean Tommy,” I say with a smirk. “I can’t do that.”
“Why the hell not?!’
“Because he tried to kidnap a fellow alpha. Attacked him, really. That is a crime. If you want him back, you will have to prove his innocence during his trial.”
“Trial? What trial?”
“The one I called when we found him. You know that an average wolf attacking an alpha, outside of war or a duel is seen as a crime. He will have to justify his actions. So, I called a trial.”
“You-! Why are you doing this?!” He snarls.
“Doing what?”
“Attacking me?! Is it because of her?!” he says while pointing at Rowan
“Don’t be ridiculous. I am just following our laid down rules. And speaking of attacking, I think you have forgotten, that it is you and your pack that tends to attack people unprovoked, and if I remember correctly, it is also you who has been charging for a fight with me. You can’t exactly blame me for finally responding.”
“Fine!” He snaps. “You want a duel, you can have a duel! Right here, right now.”
“No.”
“No?!”
“No.”
“Why not?!”
First of all, when I kill you, people are just going to blame me and secondly, it is your wild under trial not me. It is just unfortunate for you that he ended up in my pack.”
“VIKTOR!” He snarls.
“Stop caring my name you lunatic,” I tell him. “It doesn’t do shit to me.”
“How dare-!”
His words are cut off by the sounds of cars driving toward us and not too long after, we see a convoy of cars heading this way
“Ah, finally,” I say.
“What… what is happening?” he asks.
“I told you I called for a trial,” I tell him. “This is it.”
“You bastard! You didn’t inform me of this!”
“But I did. I sent the message last night. You must have not received it if you had left before it reached you. Try looking into your organisational structure when you get back,” I tell him with a mock smile.
“Fuck you!”
“No, thank you.”
Yeah, I am having way too much fun.
We watch as eleven cars slowly head our way, the first one gaining speed upon getting into the long tract of land that leads to the gates.
It heads straight for Dominic, almost like it is trying to hit him and he barely jumps out of the way before the car comes to a screeching halt.
“What the hell?!” He screams at the car. “Don’t you have eyes?! You almost hit me!”
The passenger’s door opens and a woman steps out of the car.
Standing at nearly five feet eight inches, with thick black hair that falls to her waist and startling blue eyes, that are set in a blank looking face, the woman is stunning.
“Who is that?” Rowan whispers, her first word since she came out of the room.
“That is Kaylee. Donald’s Luna.”
“Wow.”
Indeed.
We watch as she stumps up to us, with power and authority in her every step.
“Alpha Viktor,” she greets with a shirt nod, completely ignoring the bristling Dominic by her side.
“Luna Kaylee,” I greet through the bars of the gate. “Welcome.”
“Thank you,” she says. “I am told you have my alpha here.”
“We do.”
“Take me to him.”
