CHAPTER 74: ARRIVAL

Book:A SECOND CHANCE FOR BULLIED LUNA Published:2024-12-6

ROWAN.
Am I crazy?
I definitely am, right?
What else can you call me coming to The Vale pack, with not only my child and trusted friends but with also twelve other wolves.
Rogues.
In the vale pack.
For a conference where alphas would be in.
Where he would be in.
It probably wouldn’t look well if I slit Dominic’s that at the table, right?
“No, it will not,” my wolf remarks. “So control yourself.”
“I can control myself just fine, thank you.”
“Are you talking to your wolf?” Lisa asks from my side in the car.
Rina is sitting up front with Alden while Jhnelle is tucked between me and Lisa.
The other twelve wolves are in three car convoy behind us, all of us waiting for the gates to open and let us in.
Jhenelle had nearly jumped out if her skin in excitement when I had told her that we were going to Viktor’s pack.
A very clear mistake as she has not been able to calm down since then.
Even now, her eyes are trained outside the window as she leans across Lisa to watch.
Lisa and Rina just seem curious, undisturbed and calm like they weren’t about to drive into one of the dreaded Alphas in the world
When people gear dreaded Alpha, they think it is some barbaric, monstrous killer who has no control
That is not what makes Viktor feared.
It is his mind.
So critical thinking and clear headed, his plans always come to fruition, so when he plans an attack on someone or a pack, you can most assuredly know that he would win.
What is the point of strength when you have no wisdom and Viktor had an abundance of both.
And he is mine.
My mate
Really, what was the goddess thinking when she oared me up with Dominic?
“Hmm?”
“Sorry, can you repeat that?” I ask. “I got lost in thought.”
“I asked I’d you were discussing with your wolf?”
“Yeah, she told me to control myself and not kill Dominic the moment I see him.”
“That goes without saying. Where you planning on doing that?”
“Of course, not. I am not that impulsive.”
“That is good to hear,” she says just as the gates slide open and we drive in.
Where the settlement’s ground is coarse and with patches of dry grass, the Vale pack is a lush green oasis.
Large trees and well mowed lawns, perfect to just lay down on and have a picnic
“Wow!” Jhnelle exclaims. It is pretty mummy ”
“Yes, it is.”
The cart drives up through the turning corners until we arrive at a large mansion.
The mansion stands tall and proud, totally leaving me in awe.
“Damn,” Rina says before whispering beside me. “That is one hell of a building.”
The main house is like a regal palace, that blends effortlessly with the surrounding environs. Majestic columns reach towards the sky, with the stone walls painted a warm, honey color that goes well with the expansive windows, that glisten like diamonds.
As I take in the view, my gaze strays to the well manicured lawn that stretches on either side with vibrant flowers that burst with color, while perfectly trimmed hedges adds a sense of order to the picture.
“Rowan!”
The sound of Viktor’s excited voice has us turning towards the side to see him running towards us with a wide smile in his face, while a familiar man hurries to catch up.
Andre
His beta.
He had told me about him after we had made up.
“Louis!” Jhenelle screams as she breaks away from my hold and runs to him, hands outstretched for a hug
He scoops her up and throws her into the air, eliciting giggles from her as she flies and falls back into his hand.
“How is my like princess doing?” he ass as he hooks her on his waist and walks towards me.
“I missed you.”
“Hmm, I missed you more. Do you know if your mother missed me?” he asks as he sends me a small smile.
“Uh, I think so.”
“That is good enough for me than,” he says as he stops before me. “Hi,” he whispers before leaning forward to place a kiss on my cheek.
“Hey you,” I greet with a shy smile. “Did you miss me as well?”
“Oh, you have no idea. How was the drive?”
“Long. I haven’t had a reason to travel this much if a distance before.”
“Thank you, for coming,” he tells me quietly
“Well, I had to. Our lives depends on it.”
A very fake cough sounds from behind him and we both turn to see Andre smiling at us.
“Oh, sorry,” he says with a look of surprise on his face. “I got something stuck in my throat. I am Andre by the way. It is an honor to formally meet you.”
“Same,” I reply. “Viktor has told me a lot about the beta who is like a brother to him.
“Aawn,” he gushes as he looks over at Viktor. “, I am a brother to you?”
“Don’t let it get to your head. You are more of an irritating brother than anything else.”
“You live me,” he continues and Viktor just rolls his eyes at him.
“Lisa, Rina, Alden, welcome to The Vale pack,” he says, turning to them
“Thank you, Viktor,” Rina says. “You have a beautiful pack.”
I look over at Lisa and I see her behind Alden, almost like she is hiding, her gaze fixed in Alden.
What is that about?
“Who is Viktor?” Jhnelle asks with an ado6but confused frown.
Right.
She still calls him Louis.
“I am Viktor,” he replies.
“But I thought you re Louis?”
“Ehn, Louis… Louis is my other name. But everyone calls me Viktor.”
“But I like calling you Louis,” she retorts with a pout
“Then you are free to call me Louis, my princess. Only you.”
“Okay,” she says as she Evans at him.
He chuckles at her excitement before turning to me.
“Shall we go in?” he asks.
“Please.”
As we all head inside, I notice the lingering looks of a slow gathering crowd and the whispers that follow us.
“You haven’t told them about me?” I ask.
“No, not yet. I figured I should discuss it with you first. The only person who knows your relationship with me, is Andre.”
“I see.”
We head into the mansion and straight for a winding stair case.
“The wolves you came with, as well as Lisa, Rina and Alden have the third floor. It is private and reserved for only family mad friends. They will be safe there.”
“And what about me and Jhenelle?” I ask.
“You both have rooms close to me,” he responds with a cheeky smile. “Andre, lead our friends to their rooms.”
“Okay! Come in, let’s-”
His sentence cuts off as he looks over at them and I turn I see what happened .
“Andre?” Viktor calls.
“Huh?”
“What are you doing?”
“Sorry. Sorry, just… sorry. Shall we?”
We both watch in concern as he leads them up the stairs while we follow at a sedate pace. We part ways at the second landing.
“You will be informed when dinner is ready,” Viktor says as he watches them leave. “And now, my ladies, your rooms are this way.”
“Is Andre alright?” I ask.
“Hmm, I don’t know. He seemed… lost for a moment,” he answers. “I will check up on him later. Here is your room.”
“Wow. You really went all out.”
The room is bathed in the calming colors of green and silver with the walls painted in a gentle, muted green, like fresh grass.
The king sized bed is laid out with luxurious pillows and a lavish duvet, with a strong silver frame with ornate designs around it. There is a chic understated dresser and nightstand, both featuring silver accents, next to the bed, while a cozy green armchair and ottoman is set on the other side of it.
A dazzling silver chandelier hangs from above, casting a soft, warm light throughout the room with the floor laid with a plush green area rug.
But what really catches my eye is the magnificent floor to ceiling window, draped in flowing silver curtains that gently filter the light and showcase the stunning view outside.
“I thought of your eyes as motivation,” he responds.
“My eyes?”
“Emerald green.”
“Oh.”
“What about my room?” Jhenelle asks sleepily from her place on his waist.
“Don’t you want to stay with me for tonight?” I ask with a pout.
“I am not scared,” she replies.
“But I am and I need my little baby with me.”
“How about this?” Viktor says to her. “After dinner, I will show you your room, huh?”
“Okay, that is fine.”
“Alright then. Your bags will be brought in soon. You all should rest up. After dinner, we will have a conference call with the others. Is that fine by you?”
“Yeah, I am good.”
“Alright,” he says as he hands Jhenelle over to mw an spaces a kiss in her head and then on mine. “See you then.”
