Chapter 85
“Who are you!?” She asked as she lay on her bed staring at Dominic, who was at the door.
Dominic’s eyes widened in shock as he processed her question. He stood there, frozen, before speaking in a cautious tone, “You’re joking, right?” His expression turned serious as he stepped closer, his voice laced with concern, “Did you… perhaps lose your memory?”
She shook her head, a faint smile playing on her lips as she composed herself. “Maybe,” she said with a hint of mischief, “but I was just kidding. Come on in.” Dominic’s gaze lingered on her, his eyes searching.
Dominic strolled to the bed which she lay and sat beside her. He quietly brushed a strand of her hair.
“I was so scared.” He said softly as he stared into her eyes. “I thought… I was afraid I had lost you.” He added while she just looked at him with big bulgy eyes.
In the next minute, before she knew it, he had pulled her close to himself and held her softly before he began to kiss her.
Dominic kissed her with so much emotion that showed that he was scared he would lose her, but she just remained stiff in his arms.
Then his hands began to roam over her body, feverishly, and desperate to touch every part his hand could reach, while his mouth kept devouring hers in a breathtaking kiss.
They were in this position and kissed for a long while before she finally pulled away from him to catch her breath.
Dominic pressed his forehead on hers to catch his breath, too, and he noticed that her cheeks were flushed, d, and she suddenly seemed shy or embarrassed about their intimacy.
“Um….. I think you should leave.” She said with her face down after she had caught her breath and the look on Dominic’s face spelled surprise. ” I mean… Angelo might walk in any moment. I’m not trying to pursue you or something like that,” she immediately explained, and she knew she was safe when Dominic sighed and reached out for her face.
He held her face in his palms for a while until she turned away from him.
“Since when did you become scared of Angelo?” He asked with raised eyebrows.
“It’s not about being scared. I’m just taking precautions.” She responded and stood up from the bed she stepped away from him and walked to the bathroom door.
“Excuse me.” She muttered and slipped into the bathroom, locking the door behind her.
Dominic sat on the bed staring at the bathroom door for a few minutes before he sighed and finally stood up with a shrug. After a few minutes, he decided to take his leave, which he did without caring to inform her he was on his way out.
When she heard the door close, she sighed in relief and went back to the mirror in the bathroom which she had been staring at since she walked in.
She frowned at the image that was displayed in front of her and took a tissue to wipe her mouth, after which she removed the bandage that was on her arm as well.
Her clothes followed, and in minutes, she had stepped into the bathtub to take her bath. She scrubbed every cell off her body until she felt her skin ache, and then she stood under the shower to wash the feeling away.
She stepped out after she was done with the shower, walked out of the room straight to the wardrobe, looked at the dresses, and cringed.
What sort of dresses are these? She wondered as she stared at them in disgust. What the hell was she supposed to wear this? She hissed and turned to check out more clothes at the edges until she saw a black lingerie.
She slipped into the lingerie, the soft fabric caressing her skin. With a newfound sense of confidence, she stepped out of the room and made her way to Angelo’s office. The hallway was dimly lit, the only sound was the soft hum of the air conditioning.
As she walked, the lingerie seemed to hug her body, making her feel like a completely different person. She felt empowered, confident, and ready to take on whatever she would face with him.
