The moment Dominic opened the door to Elena’s ward, he froze. The lights were completely out, and he could feel a layer of dread settle over him.
He reached to the wall for the switch, but couldn’t find it. But he was sure what he was seeing on the mattress.
Nothing.
No Elena.
“What the fuck!”
He made his way into the room and grabbed the sheets on the mattress, his jaw clenching in fury.
In a moment of sheer panic and confusion, he darted out of the room. At the same time, the lights came on.
Only for him to bump into someone on his way out.
“I am sorry, Sir… I..”
On recognizing the voice, Dominic raised his head to take a look at the person.
He blinked sharply realizing it was one of Angelo’s men.
“Oh, good gracious! Have you seen the Boss’s girl? Elena? Have you seen her?” He asked in a breath.
“What? No, I haven’t… isn’t she in?”
“She isn’t!” Dominic gritted out as he made his way past him. His fists were clenched, as he stomped his way down the halls.
Suddenly he paused and turned to stare back at the man.
“Head out right now, and find the Boss. He is in a bit of a situation. Gather the others as well!” He said in a commanding tone.
The man stood there gobsmacked, hesitating for a second, and then he was nodding quickly as he made his way down the halls and towards the exit.
He had initially wanted to check in the room for Eva, when he saw Dominic stepping out. With the look on his face, one thing was clear to him. Eva was not in the room as well.
His heart beat furiously in his rib cage as he wondered where she could have been or if he had screwed up in some way.
Some of his colleagues who were lounging around, saw his distressed face as he approached.
He informed them of the new development and in no time, they were making their way out of the hospital.
However, some of Don Massimo’s men were still keeping guard outside Eva’s ward. They had absolutely no idea that she wasn’t in the room anymore.
Dominic, on the other hand, made his way to the doctor’s office and barged the door open with so much force.
“I need the exits and entrance of this hospital sealed right this moment!”
The doctor, who was reading something off a sheet, looked up in surprise at the sudden entrance.
“What?”
“I said, I need this hospital sealed right this instant! Do your thing, or this hospital will be burnt down to ashes in no time!”
Without waiting for his response, he turned on his heel and made his way out of his office.
Heading directly to the control room. He was a confused mess. Clenching and unclenching his fists as he carefully scanned everyone he passed by, pushing every door he passed by as well until he got to the control room.
The force with which he barged the door open was enough to make the security personnel almost fall back on their seats.
“Hey! You’re not supposed to be here.”
Dominic was by his side in no time, and with a hand, he wished him aside, sending the man flying down the room.
The others, who were engrossed in their screen before he entered stared at him in utmost shock.
“I need the footage of the wards at exactly an hour ago!” He ordered with a commanding tone.
Their gazes swept at him in shock. Glancing at their colleague who was now writhing on the floor, and then back to him.
“I’m sorry Sir. But that is simply not allowed.”
Dominic was impatient. He swiftly brought out a gun from the waistband of his pants. Their eyes widened, and he brought out another, as he pointed it at them.
“I will not repeat myself any further. I Need the fucking footage, or I bury these in each of your skulls.”
They were so shocked at his words, but without wasting any time, they carefully sat back down in their seats and searched for the footage.
A few minutes later, they began to sweat. Confusion was etched on their brows as they kept clicking on their keyboards, staring at their screens with a blank look.
“What the fuck is taking a whole lot of time!? I do not have the luxury for this!”
One of the men who was seated directly in front of Dominic, leaned closer to his screen like he was taking a look at something a bit tiny.
Dominic noticed it, so he tilted his head to take a look at what caught his attention.
But he couldn’t see anything fathomable on the screen
“What is the matter!? Have you gotten it?” He asked impatiently.
“Um…” The personnel frowned, his brows creasing at the edges as he spoke, “There is nothing here for the past five hours…”
For a moment, there was silence.
“What did you say!?”
Dominic could feel his heart rate increase. Elena was of utmost priority at the moment, and he knew something terrible had happened.
He pointed the gun pointed at them, and they immediately froze, “You think I’m here to play? You take me for a fool?”
They all raised their hands, trembling in surrender.
But before they could say another word, Dominic had pointed to his right, as he pulled the trigger on one.
“Arghhhhh!!!”
The screams filled the little room, as the personnel who had just been shot, clutched at his bleeding arm in utmost pain.
Tension filled the room, and some of them were practically shitting their pants.
“I wouldn’t ask again,” Dominic sneered, “I need the fucking footage, or I blow your brains out!”
The security personnel stared at each other, fright evident on their faces.
They had never experienced something of this sort in the hospital before. They couldn’t even understand why this strange man was asking for footage of the hospital.
As a norm, it was against the rules that they’d been imposed, but at this moment, their lives depended on this.
“The footage has… s.. somehow been wiped out. Exactly.. fi… five hours cut out…” One of them stuttered, with wide eyes as he stared at Dominic.
But Dominic wasn’t buying it one bit. There was no way the footage could have been cut out if they hadn’t tampered with it.
Five hours was way before he had even stepped into the hospital, so that was like telling him to his face that the footage was intentionally wiped out..
Unless…
His eyes widened at the sudden revelation.
“Fuck!!”
His eyes flashed red as he understood what might have happened. He knew bringing her to the hospital was a bad idea at the start, but she was losing consciousness, and even though they had a rule of no hospitals, except the doctor comes to the house, he had broken it for emergency sake.
Something flashed in his eyes, and even though he had a guess what the answer might be, he still asked, “Why was there a lights out just few minutes ago?”
The look on their faces gave him the answer he needed.
Sweat coated his forehead as he hit his fists on a chair, sending it tumbling backwards. He quickly made his way out of the room in quick hurried steps.
