“If you don’t want to end up like him. Then shut your mouth and focus on your revenge.” He grabbed my chin. “You’ve been getting on my nerves lately. Just shut up and stay put, if you don’t want to end up as one of my escapades.”
“Sihwa.” She drew his attention.
A female in a black attire, including a fitted red top and a black jacket. Black bum shorts and knee-high black boots, and has the cold piercing red eyes of a wolf, knelt on one knee behind Sihwa.
“Everything has gotten solved. The other clans wouldn’t intervene in your affairs anymore or try to stop you.”
Her voice. Who is she?
“They’ve gone. I wiped them out.”
What! Is that Chelsea?
“Chelsea.” I shouted in excitement, but Sihwa’s right arm stretched out to stop me from moving any further. I stopped and Chelsea didn’t flinch one bit at my calling. What is happening around here?
Why is Chelsea in such clothes? It’s not what I think it is, right?
Does Chelsea know Sihwa?
“Stop at where you are, Wendy.” He warned, still looking down with his hair on his face. “She is not your friend anymore. She is my puppet and the mother of my child.” He revealed. “Step aside before I do it for you.”
The mother of his child? Wait! What?
She is the mother of Shiva?
“No. No. No. It can’t be.” I shook my head in disbelief. When did she become the mother of Shiva?
Has everyone gone insane?
I couldn’t take my eyes off Chelsea, still kneeling on the ground, waiting for Sihwa’s orders.
No, this isn’t possible. Why is she behaving this way? Did Sihwa brainwash her or something?
Wait a minute. I hope he isn’t planning on killing her.
I turned to Sihwa in tears. “Let her go.” I screamed. “Let Chelsea go this instant. She is my friend, not your puppet. I swear…”
“Shut up.” He nonchalantly ordered. “Should I shut your mouth for you instead, because you wouldn’t shut up?”
She stood up nonchalantly behind Sihwa.
“Let Chelsea go.” I screamed so much, someone out of nowhere slapped me on my cheeks.
I stopped, and it was Chelsea who glared at me with nothing but anger. “Just shut up. You are disturbing the others here. Just shut your mouth and stop interfering in Sihwa’s issues.” She seriously warned me and bodyguards out of nowhere dropped bodies on the ground before me.
Larcade and Courtney lay unconscious on the ground. Each of their ears went missing, their eyeballs, fingers and their toes were also missing.
This scene killed me to the core. I couldn’t breathe enough to think of the next step to take.
My heart ripped.
I did the next thing that popped up in my mind without a blink.
I dug out my claws at the verge of attack and Chelsea got in the way and attacked me.
We both morphed into our wolf forms.
my wolf’s fur bristled as I faced her-my best friend.
Her cold eyes, once so full of laughter, now blazed with fury and pain. I tried to speak, but in our wolf forms, words meant nothing. Only growls, snarls, and the language of battle remained.
She lunged first, her teeth snapping inches from my throat. I barely dodged, the force of her attack sending me stumbling back.
“Please, stop,” I wanted to say, but a low whimper escaped my throat. She hesitated for a fraction of a second, her wolf ears twitching as though she heard the plea for my growl. But then she struck again, her claws raking across my shoulder. Pain blossomed, sharp, but it was nothing compared to the ache in my heart.
We had shared secrets, dreams, and endless laughter. Now we were tearing each other apart under the stony gaze of the sun.
I countered, instinct taking over in full force. My jaw clamped around her flank-not to harm, but to hold her back. She yelped, twisting out of my grip, and her paw slammed into my ribs, sending me sprawling.
Tears blurred my vision, but I forced myself up. Every step, every movement, felt like a betrayal.
Her growl softened for a moment, and our eyes met. Was that regret I saw? Or hesitation? It didn’t matter. We were both trapped in this cycle, driven by forces larger than us-pride, betrayal, duty.
With a cry that was more human than wolf, I lunged forward, pinning her to the ground. My teeth hovered over her throat, but I couldn’t do it. I released her, backing away with a trembling whine.
She rose slowly, her chest heaving, her fur matted with blood-mine and hers. For a moment, we just stared at each other, panting in the hot air. Then she turned and ran, disappearing out of sight.
I collapsed onto the ground, my wolf’s form shrinking back into my human one. I didn’t care if I was naked. My body ached, but my soul felt shattered. I buried my face in my hands, tears falling freely now.
I had fought her… and lost her, including my other friends.
Larcade and Courtney were dead. Once again, I had lost more people I cherished in my heart than the ones I hate.
I cried on my knees and couldn’t stop crying at the dead bodies of my best friends. The people who followed me to help me in defeating Sihwa died before Sihwa.
What happened to Chelsea? Why did she turn against me?
My God!
Will I ever get over this pain and the enormous hole in my heart?
How long do I have to keep being tormented like this?
~Gerhard’s Pov~
The day turned dark when rain poured heavily on the Grimwolf clan. I folded my arms on my chest, staring at the view of the drops of rain glistening on the enormous glass in the living room. I turned away from it and saw Wendy’s unconscious body on the couch.
She fainted after crying so much because of the death of her friends by collapsing to the ground.
Sihwa, in his position, didn’t flinch at her falling to the ground. Instead, he stood properly and walked back to his quarters.
I sighed and moved closer to Wendy and covered her body with a little blanket and walked away from the living room. I knew the others will come in soon since they’ve heard about Wendy staying at the estate.
I took off my suit with my long sleeve on and my trouser as I strolled majestically to my quarters, ignoring the echoes of my black shoes and the chilly breeze around me.
Four years, huh!
Time had gone by so fast. I stared at the rain, not stopping anytime and remembered Aiden.
He loved the rain.
I still can’t believe he is gone. After Sihwa ordered us to kill him on the day of the fire outburst at the clan.
I forced my gaze away from the rain outside and saw Chelsea coming into the living room, soaking wet from the rain. She stopped as she stared at me.
I hung my suit on my right arm. I gazed at her without a blink. She turned her attention motionless on the door.
