“Don’t worry, they are safe. You will see them soon. Go inside and have a good rest.”
I sighed. “I just want to thank you-”
“When you heard about your grandfather’s death? Why did you still come back?”
His question took me aback.
“Why did I still come back?” I murmured.
“Yes, you are quite bold for an Omega like you. I’ve always wanted to know why you took such a huge risk to come back.” He broadened his eyebrows a little. “If I were you, I wouldn’t come back. My grandfather died to save me from my mates. Instead of staying where I was, I carried my two fucking legs and came right back to the same spot my grandfather died for.”
No! What is he trying to say to me?
“Don’t you think you are the foolish one here? Let me guess, you’ve started having regrets, haven’t you?”
“Don’t say what you don’t…”
“I believe I know enough.” He cut in. “Your grandfather will be so disappointed in his granddaughter for going back to the alphas she ran away from.”
“You know nothing about my life.” I clenched my fists. “JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP.” I yelled at him. “What are you saying? I should have stayed back and hid under my bed without knowing why my grandfather died? All of you caused his death. If it weren’t for you guys, he wouldn’t have died. Do you know how long I’ve been suffering because you guys are my mates? All of you keep chasing me for no god-damned reason. When I try to reject each of you, my life is on the verge of death. I have to come up with another way to take you guys out. Do you know what I went through because all of you marked me without my consent?”
“None of us marked you. You just couldn’t reject us. That’s the truth. Because you didn’t allow us to mark you and you didn’t reject any of us, of course, you will get tormented by the bond between us,” He explained. “So what? Your revenge is to wipe us out for killing the people you love. And you think you can fucking do it? Do you think you can kill Sihwa?” He mocked. “You don’t know how to kill a puppy, but you think you can kill a lion? How absurd are your thoughts?”
“I don’t care but-” I don’t know why he is saying this to me, but I’ve got to stop talking. I can’t tell this alpha I want to kill his brothers because of some revenge I planned. It wouldn’t make any sense. Just have to keep my mouth shut and do as I’m told. “I’m so tired. I want to have a good rest.”
I just want him out of my way this second.
“Have a good day.” He brushed past my shoulder. I left him at the doorway and slammed my door shut. I can’t believe I just opened my mouth and nearly told him about my revenge. How stupid can I be? Did I think if he learned of my revenge, of wanting to kill them, he would remain quiet?
Damn! I shouldn’t have burst out in anger. I feel so stupid for leaving Twilight Springs. I think Chris is probably right. Should have just stayed at the Twilight Springs. My grandfather died because of these alphas.
I came back to them.
I gasped.
What had I done to myself? How could I have come back to them again? Wouldn’t it be like my grandfather died for nothing? I put his death in vain by coming back here?
What the hell have I done?
For the first time in years, I slept so well and woke up by noon the next morning.
But I felt a huge hole in my heart.
I came out of my room by opening the golden doors as I came out. The sun brightened my face. I looked around and everyone, the guards and the maids, seemed so busy working around the estate.
I motionlessly walked barefooted, going to where I had no clue. I came across Sihwa sitting on the porch in his quarters. His long black hair waved with the wind. His eyes were darker than purple. When did his appearance change so much?
I hid behind the walls and ambled off. I remembered Chris telling me to avoid him at all costs.
I moved around and saw Chris and Donovan having a conversation. Chris’s hands were in his pockets and Donovan stood before him in his black overcoat with a clenched fist.
Chris looked like he was in a rage.
What will both of them be conversing to put Chris in such a rage?
He is still attractive when he is mad though.
“Get out of my way. I want nothing to do with you, Donovan.”
Donovan wrapped his hands around his toned abs and smashed his lips against Chris. Chris nonchalantly pushed him and slapped him hard on the cheek and swift his claws on the right side of his neck.
Donovan gritted his teeth, staggered a little with a horror look at Chris.
“The next time you do that again, your neck won’t be where I will attack. I will dig my claws through your heart. Stay the fuck away from me.”
“You can do whatever.” Donovan panted and put his hands on his neck to hold in the blood. “You want to do it to me? I don’t care as long as it’s you.”
Chris snarled. “You are bloody sick.” Chris pushed Donovan out of his way and dashed out of the porch.
Donovan sighed and sat down on the porch, holding his neck until it got healed. For some unknown reason, I can sense his sadness. Why am I feeling his emotions?
The tension between them wasn’t some quarrel. It was a lover’s quarrel. Wait a second, could it be Chris and Donovan are lovers?
I hope it isn’t what I think it is.
I felt a gentle, firm grip on my mouth and gasped with a struggle.
I ripped the hand off my mouth to see who it was.
Kellan.
“Why are you here? How did you get in here?” he asked calmly.
His look took me aback as I took a few steps back.
“Be careful.” He smirked. “You are gonna fall into that pool.”
I faced back and saw a pool behind me. Stopped and couldn’t stop looking at him. I remembered how he advised me to be careful of his brothers. I can’t forget the day he gripped my arm just to cause me pain.
How could he be so cruel back then? Why am I standing in front of him? I don’t even want to look at his face.
“What do you want?” I turned my gaze off him.
“I sniffed your pheromones and knew you were here. So, I came to check you out. After all, everyone has found out, you are back to the clan.”
He came closer to me and pulled my right arm to him and hugged me. He wrapped his hands around my waist.
“Welcome back, Wendy. How are you doing? I hope you are fine?”
This hug.
This warmth and comforting presence felt like Aiden’s.
