“That’s not convincing.” I said and rushed the food on the tray. I felt famished to the point I could eat anything on sight.
“Why? Do you think I must have poisoned some part of the food and left the other side with no poison, to make you believe I was telling the truth?”
“Yeah.” I nodded and kept digging on my food. I knew the food wasn’t poisoned anyway. I’m just curious to know why he is so nice to me?
“Interesting.” He laughed and poured a glass of water for me. I grabbed the glass and gulped all down it.
“You are so hungry.” He mumbled, wouldn’t stop looking at me.
“What’s the matter?” I took a deep breath to let the bulge of fried egg I had eaten pass down my throat.
“I prepared the food I promised to prepare for you but Shiva ended up eating all of it after he informed me he had put you in a cell,” He put his elbow on the right side of his folded knee and rested the right side of his face on the back of his hand. “He must truly hate you.” The Alpha stood up on his feet when he saw I had finished eating my food.
“The guards will come and take the empty dishes. Don’t worry about it.” He got close to the iron door.
“Why are you getting close to me? Why did you come here and what is your motive? No.” I shook my head and felt a little dizziness in my eyes. “What do you want from me? I want to know why you approached me. Please, don’t tell me it is because you are my mate. I wouldn’t believe such bullshit.”
I felt my strength slowly coming back to me, even though I was still tired. Everything that happened recently rushed through my brain and welled up tears in my eyes. I felt so exhausted to the point I wanted to die.
What if I can’t kill Sihwa? If I can’t reject any of my mates? What should I do? They are too strong for me. I’m the only one in this battle. No one is fighting for me. I’m an Omega with no influence. How can I defeat my mates? How can I take care of these alphas and free myself from them forever?
Wouldn’t it be better if I give up and let things go as they are?
They want me, after all. Why don’t I let them take me and do as they wish? I just feel all alone…in this world.
My tears dropped on my hands. Why am I crying when I’m supposed to stand strong like the Omega I had trained myself to be? I look so pathetic.
I’m ashamed to even raise my head.
“You want to reject all of us, right?” He kept gazing at me. “Isn’t that the reason you came back?” He asked.
I finally glanced at him with a mumble. “Don’t know anymore.” I laughed bitterly and wiped my tears falling from my eyes. “Sihwa has taken so much from me.”
“I heard Aiden was the person you loved the most.” Chris muttered. “He truly loved you and was ready to give up everything for you, even if it was to lose his title as an Alpha and the son of Aaron of the Grimwolf pack.” He stretched out his hand. “Grab onto it and get up.”
I took his hand and stood up on my shaking feet. I sighed and completely wiped off my tears.
“You asked me what I want from you, right?”
With an instant reply. “Yes.”
“Good, I’m gonna answer that later. But for now, I want you to lie low for a while. You are an Omega. Do nothing past your limits. Sihwa is not smiling. If you keep stirring up trouble, you can’t put up with it once he gets angry. Sihwa is mentally unstable once he gets angry. You can’t stand it. He will mess up with your head. So for now, I want you to go lie low and do as I say.”
“Why should I…”
“With time, you would understand why I’m telling you to do this. Just do as I tell you to do unless you want the rest of our mates to devour you.”
“Alright.” I nodded and followed him out of the cell. We both kept walking in silence. We walked for about twenty minutes, passing guards and maids moving around, and entered an estate.
“This is the Grimwolf estate.” Chris announced and gazed at me. “This differs from the clan, and it is where the whole family of the Grimwolf lives. I will direct you to your room and you shall stay there for the time being. Don’t make any trouble.” He took a step, his hands in his pockets, and stopped. “And remember, Sihwa stays here. He lives here too. There is gonna be so much drama going on here. Maybe or maybe not.”
“What drama?” I asked.
He sighs. “Just try as much as possible to not bump into Sihwa.” He laughed and motioned me to follow him.
Before me stretches a sprawling estate that seems to go on forever, framed by towering trees and rolling hills. Glistening under the sunlight, every window shimmering like polished diamonds.
As I walk toward the main entrance, the sheer scale of it all is overwhelming. The fountains flanking the entrance spill crystal-clear water, their gentle melody mingling with the rustling leaves. The double doors, carved intricately with motifs of roses and vines.
Beyond the gardens, the land stretches endlessly. There are stables, a private vineyard, a tennis court, and even a helipad. It’s a world of its own, perfectly secluded and brimming with possibility. And yet, as vast and luxurious as it is, I can’t help but feel a sense of intimacy, as if in every corner, designed to make you pause, breathe, and savor life’s beauty.
This estate isn’t just a place to live-it’s a testament to abundance, a sanctuary, and a world waiting to be explored. And for a fleeting moment, standing here, I wonder: Could this ever feel like home?
He showed me a quarter of the estate and instructed me to stay here.
“This is where I will live?” I looked at how beautiful it was everywhere.
“Yes.” He held my shoulders. His hands were warm to the touch. He took off his hands and stepped in front of me like he was having the best time of his life.
“Why are you staring at me?”
“Each of them lives here. Try as much as possible to not run into them.”
“But why can’t I live far away from them?” He’s always saying avoid them. Shouldn’t he put me in a place far away from them? Why do I feel like he’s having fun with this?
“Because they would hurt you. Staying far away from them will give them easy access to hurt you. If you are close to them, it’s gonna get difficult.”
“Oh.” I muttered and then a thought came to me. “What about my friends? I haven’t-seen them since-“
