The impact of the banging of the door jolted me with fear, making me drop Alpha Casper’s hand in the process as I almost fell on the floor.
A hiss slipped off my mouth when I locked gaze with Raphael storming towards me with another man in white overall and thick glasses. A stethoscope hung loosely around his neck. It confirmed my curiosity. He was Alpha Casper’s doctor. A part of the few people allowed to wander on the last floor.
“Are you deaf or something? Get your filthy hands off the Alpha this instant!” Raphael threatened, flashing his canines.
“Let…her…stay…Raph…” Alpha’s Casper’s weak voice came out as a whisper. But it was swallowed by Raphael’s growls.
The bastard now had an opportunity because Alpha Casper was weak.
What was he even feeling like? A mini god?
I rolled my eyes, lowering my gaze to meet Casper’s weak eyes before squeezing his burning hands against mine.
It hurt, but I would endure it.
“Doctor, he is burning up,” I squealed, pouting my lips like I was about to break into tears.
“I will examine him real quick,” he assured, giving me a brief warm smile before moving close to examine Alpha Casper, who looked like he was about to pass out any moment from now.
“Do you want me to drag you out before you know that you are not wanted here? What the hell are you even doing on this floor?” he seized me by my arm.
I clenched my jaws, trying to accommodate the pain as his fingers dug into my skin. His eyes flashed with anger. It felt like he wanted to punch me so hard on my face.
“This floor is off-limits, bitch! Beside me and the doctor, you are not allowed here, so get out before l hurt you badly!” He threatened, flashing his elongated canines at me.
“For your information, the Alpha would be unconscious for more than a month and your life will be in my hands, dangling by a thread and I would do to you whatever I want. No one would save you then, not even the Alpha. And by the time he wakes up, you would have been long gone and forgotten.”
I rolled my eyes stubbornly, narrowing my gaze to challenge him. “You hurt me, you regret it. I belong to the Alpha, not you. You think I’m afraid of you?” I asked boldly, maintaining a dreadful glare at him.
“The Alpha is attracted to me and he can’t help it so deal with it!” I fired, beaming with pride.
“You slut!” He raised his hands to strike me, but the next thing I saw was his back against the wall hard that a rib cracked.
He whimpered, biting his lips to accommodate the pain and masking his expression, but I could see how hurt he was.
It soothed me that Alpha Casper bruised his inflated ego.
“I warned you not to hurt her!” He roared dangerously, instilling fear in us at the vibration of his deep voice. “You just woke the sleeping tiger.”
I shifted away from him as my body trembled when his eyes flashed red.
“What is wrong with the Alpha?” I asked, pointing at him. His monstrous behaviour almost made me pass out in fear.
Was this also as a result of the curse?
Why was he cursed?
Does this have anything to do with Marina?
“Quick, inject him with wolfsbane, he is getting dangerous!” Raphael yelled. I could see terror rooted in his eyes as he pointed at Alpha Casper who was changing toward him like he was about to kill him.
“Quick!” Raphael screamed desperately, taking steps backwards, but still maintaining eye contact with Casper while hurrying the doctor.
He fumbled with the syringe for a while before tiptoeing behind Alpha Casper quietly not to get his attention, as all his senses were heightened. The sharp needle traveled in the air in a slow motion before it pierced his scarred skin.
He staggered backwards, dropping heavily on the floor as the effects of the liquid kicked in.
Panic seized me, making me clasp my hand over my mouth in shock.
Alpha Casper remained motionless on the floor while the doctor and Raphael bent to pick him up.
They groaned in pain as his heavy weight dipped on their shoulders.
“Quick, this is temporary. It won’t hold him for long.”
“What are you doing to him? Where are you taking him?” I demanded, obstructing their path.
“Get out of the way, you sick bitch!” Raphael hissed before pushing me off the path.
A screamed in pain as my knees brushed against the hard floor, but I hurriedly got on my feet despite my knees stinging.
“Where are you taking him? What is going on?” I chanted, racing downstairs to catch up with their pace.
“Anna! Get this bitch inside!” Raphael ordered while Anna trembled in fear and pity.
But the reaction wasn’t because Raphael commanded her, it was because her eyes met with Alpha Casper’s motionless body.
Her face partly squeezed like she was about to burst into tears.
“What is happening? Why is the Alpha like that? Is he dying?” I demanded, almost yanking her hand off.
“Don’t interrupt the Beta next time, he isn’t in a good mood.” she advised, before looking in the men’s direction as they left the house.
“Can you tell me what is going on? I hate being left in the dark!”
“The Alpha is sick, but it is nothing that concerns you. Raphael and the doctor are here already, just do your job as it is stated in the rules.”
I cocked my head in disbelief, folding my arms under my big boobs adamantly. “The Alpha is not sick, why are you lying to me? Why is everyone so secretive?”
Anna heaved a sigh before shaking her head. “You won’t understand-”
“Understand what? His curse?” I spilled, watching her eyes grow impossibly big with shock.
Her mouth flew open and she quickly looked in the direction of the men as if they were coming for me.
“No one talks about it. How do you even know that…” she gasped, looking at me with disbelief.
“Why is he cursed?”
“I can’t tell you, I’m sorry,” she screamed, running off dramatically.
What a scared bitch!
It doesn’t matter if they ignore me, I would dig deep into the cause of Alpha Casper’s curse.

“Doctor, what are you saying? She can’t make it?!” I screamed, banging the table with my fist as I was close to going insane.
“You are not with the balance. The money you sent was used up immediately. Your mum’s situation has worsened. You need the balance and extra $5, 000.”
“Extra money? For what?” I almost broke down in tears as I started calculating the figures in my head.
“She will be placed on very expensive medications and there will be some tests we will run on her. You need to deposit $20, 000 in the next 48 hours so we will be forced to stop treatment and discharge her,” he advised emotionlessly, getting up his feet and walking in the direction of the door.
Driven by frustration, I yelled hard, almost hurting my lungs before pinching the walls until my knuckles bled.
Who would lend me that huge amount of money?
Alpha Casper was out of the picture. He was not even conscious. Even if he had not had his episodes, I might be hesitant to ask him because he had already done more than enough for me.
Heartbroken and dejected, I dragged myself out of the hospital without sparing a glance on my sister and mother.
I didn’t want them to see me broken. I was their only hope, their pillar and strength.
“Daphne…it’s me…” I cried as I called Daphne, my voice shook and I couldn’t stop sniffing.
I didn’t let her talk before bawling my eyes out. “I need $20k. Where does the doctor want me to get it? I’m tired, Daphne.”
“Wipe your tears. I’ll help you.” She sounded calm. Dangerously calm.
My wailing stopped immediately her words rang in my head.
“How would you help me with $20k? You are a fucking waitress!”
“I know, but I can help you get $20k if only you are willing to sell your body. That is the only way to save your mother’s life.”
