Our backs hit the bed tiredly, and loud gasps slipped off our mouths as we stared at the ceiling, panting hard.

My eyes were filled with anxiety when my eyes met the dried blood stains on the sheets.

A knock sounded on my door, catching my attention.
“Motherfucker,” I rolled my eyes and a frown dropped on my face when Raphael’s voice flowed into the room.
I wore my shorts and covered the blood stained sheet before opening the door.
“What do you want?” I asked boredly, blocking the entrance.
The last thing I wanted to hear was his whining.
“Nothing,” he replied. I rolled my eyes when I noticed the disgusted look on his face.
“Why does your room smell weird these days?” he grunted, cringing his nose.
“Just go straight to the point and tell me why you are here,” I groaned impatiently, anger rising in my eyes.
“You don’t have to be so mean to me,” he started. His eyes softened and remorse washed on his face.
“I hate how things got bad between us as a result of what happened the last time. I miss my buddy and I was afraid that some girl would put your life in danger. You know that I love you.”
I rolled my eyes boredly as the only thing that clouded my head was to cuddle Lilith and make her feel comfortable. I hated that she saw me as a monster after what I did to her the previous night.
“Alpha?” Raphael’s voice jolted me from my reverie. “Can I use your bathroom?”
“No,” I said sharply, grinding my teeth.
“I’ve been here for a couple of hours and I need to pee…” the rest of the words hung in the air when the shower got turned on..
“That’s why. I see that you have company.” he murmured as his lips formed a sad smile.
A part of me was pricked by guilt at my cold shoulder towards Raphael.
Before Lilith came into the picture, we were best buddies, but now, I don’t know what we were anymore.
“I hate that guy,” Max spat in my head angrily. I could feel him rolling his eyes. “Lilith is waiting for us.”
A sigh slipped off my lips as I shut the door.
Lilith walked out of the bathroom, shutting the door behind her before walking towards the bed.
“Just like you said, the pain is gone,” she announced, smiling cheerfully.
I stared at her in bewilderment as my eyes hovered on her thighs.
Doubt kicked in me, making me place my hands on her wet thighs before massaging it.

“Max,” I called as my heart thundered heavily.
“Your pain left when she was by your side. Her pain left because of your presence. It could only mean one thing.”
“Is she our mate or is the moon goddess messing with us?” I asked in confusion as panic seized my veins.

I had barely changed into the pair of shorts and shirt that Alpha Casper gave me when I heard faint screams of my name coming downstairs.
What does Anna want this time?
I rolled my eyes, folding my nightgown before tucking it under my arm.
“Where are you going?” Alpha Casper asked, cocking his brows.
A strange sensation hit me, making me aware of the strange anxiety and confusion that lodged in his heart.
Since last night, I noticed that I shared a bit of his feeling which was weird.
“Downstairs to meet her. She is probably worried about me.”
“Sit your ass down. You are spending the day with me in my private garden.”
“You have a private garden?”
“Yes, but no one is permitted to go there.” he paused briefly, staring into the open with a sad smile on his face.
“I usually take Marina there,” he spilled, biting his lips after realizing his mistake.
Curse words flew from his mouth as a frown covered his face.
My heart dropped in sadness as the strange messages replayed in my head.
It was obvious he hadn’t gotten over Marina and if she showed up, he would dump me for her.
I was a fool for giving myself to him cheaply.
Awkward silence filled the air and tears stung my eyes. The mood was ruined.
I shut my eyes, taking deep breaths to calm my nerves before forcing a sad smile at me.
I didn’t want him to notice how hurt I was knowing there was another lady in his life.
He could have her if he wanted.
I wouldn’t stoop low to compete shamelessly as if he were some trophy.
Confusion roared in me as his emotions hit me hard again.
“I’ll just leave,” I replied before excusing myself.
After shutting the door, I made sure Anna was out of sight before going downstairs.
I was about to enter my room when a hand suddenly grabbed me from behind, slamming my back to the wall.
A large hand clasped tightly on my mouth, making me unable to scream and my hands were bound.
Muffled screams forced its way out of my mouth as I began to kick with my legs to set myself free.
Air completely seized from my lungs when the intruder fastened his hand around my neck, pinning me against the wall.
I started to get dizzy as my head was spinning at the lack of oxygen. It happened faster than I could process.
