Casper
I stifled a gasp, a frown descending on my face as my insides began to turn.
What did he mean by the loyal person around me would be the death of me?
I masked my expression, pretending that his words didn’t make an impact on me.
“Once you are here, there is no mercy,” I told him, bending over to rest on a knee with a wicked grin plastered on my face.
I knew his type. They would cook up words to distract you in order to earn your pity.
Not this time. Not when he tried to kidnap Lilith and stabbed me with a silver knife.
“You don’t need to deceive me. Your days are numbered already.”
He let out a burst of defeated laughter before stopping to catch his breath.
“You think I don’t know? I don’t care what you do to me. Let’s just end this shit.”
I marveled at his bravery, and it made me have a change of mind towards him.
“Two things. You give me what I want, I kill you, you don’t give me what I want, I kill you.” I said with a sneer on my face.
“I would have opted for the second one, but for the sake of old times, Alpha Casper Hunter, I will stick to the first.”
A wave of surprise hit me when I heard my name on his lips.
Only a few knew me, especially when I went into hiding for 10 years. Some even thought that I had died.
“Who are you?”
“Someone from the past. Someone you shouldn’t worry about. Someone unimportant.” He stated, wincing his pain. “I remember you now. Your mate and your kids died in a fire attack. Marina, Taylor, and Tyler.”
My breath hitched when their names rolled off his lips. A wave of shock hit me like a ton of bricks.
How was he familiar with my past? Only a few people knew about it.
“I told you, I was someone from the past.” He sneered, enjoying the dazed look on my face.
“If I had known it was you the previous night, I wouldn’t have attacked. And I wouldn’t have tried to kidnap your girl.” His voice dropped in regret before fixing his bloodied eyes on mine.
“She is not my girl.” I refuted, rolling my eyes as I started to feel uncomfortable.
“Fine. What do I know?” He chuckled weakly.
“Who are you?” I asked as I was unable to bear the question that rang continuously in my head. “And don’t tell me someone from the past.”
He let out a sigh, and his shoulders slumped in defeat. He tried to move a bit, but he was restricted by the heavy chains that kept him rooted to a spot.
I could tell that he was in a great deal of pain from standing in a spot for days.
“You might not remember because you don’t know me, but you saved me when I was drowning. It’s been a long time since I was a young boy.”
I swallowed, trying to remember the boy I saved a long time ago, but nothing came to my head.
“You are lying.”
“I’m not. I was running away from my bullies and jumped into the river to hide. They left when they didn’t see me but I couldn’t swim so I started to drown.” he explained.
My brows furrowed as the images came together in my head.
He was telling the truth.
“How did you become a trafficker?” I gritted, anger oozing out of me.
“Long story, but I want to apologize for hurting you once again.”
“It’s fine, as long as you give me what I want,” I concluded.
“What do you want, Alpha?”
“Who is your boss’s boss’s boss?” I asked, using my Alpha tone. “The traffickers.”
It was high time I took matters into my own hands.
“I vowed never to reveal my master’s name, but I will do it because of you. You saved my life once, and I will save yours.”
He let out a painful breath, tears rolled from his eyes as his lips parted. “I can’t reveal his name, but I will reveal his son’s name. I’m sorry, but I will never betray my master.”
Irritation washed through me, making me hiss.
“The second in command, his name is Calix Black. He is my master’s son. They are the head of all traffickers in the world. He employs people like me to work under them. We increase in thousands daily because he pays us handsomely after the girls are purchased by his potentiometer customers.”
“Can you tell me about one of his customers?”
“The richest is Rodrigo. I’m sorry, I can’t reveal the names of the rest of them.”
“You’ve done well.” I commended, tapping his dislocated shoulder.
Excitement rippled through me as the information.
“You are saying, if I take Calix Black down, I will be able to take down his father, who is your overall boss ?”
“Yes.” He responded weakly, coughing out blood.
“Can you take me to Calix’s house?”
“I can’t. No one knows where they stay. What we do is deliver the girls to the smaller bosses. We have ranks, and it is controlled by hierarchy. We have hundreds of bosses all over every city.”
“It is because this business is the fastest way to get you rich, so a lot of people are engaging in it.”
“I heard there is a ball, and I am planning to invade it.”
“It’s useless. They already know your plans, and trust me, they will ruin it. I would advise you to seize fire and attack when they least expect it.”
“Thank you, Tim.” I half-smiled.
“You remember me now,” he said with a smile on his swollen face.
“I had the intention to kill you earlier, but I changed my mind,” I spoke in a low tone, maintaining eye contact.
“I will set you free if only you stop working as a trafficker.”
“Consider it done, Alpha.” He cried, gratitude evident in his voice. “Thank you.”
“I will send my Beta to release you and drop you off in the human world so that you can start your life afresh and if I sense that you work for those people, I won’t hesitate to kill you on sight.” I spat, clenching his blood-stained collar while he gasped for breath.
“Yes, Alpha,” he swallowed in fear, bowing slightly as the chain connecting from the ground to his neck restrained him.
“Now, tell me more about what you said earlier about the loyal person being the death of me.” I leaned forward, concentrating on him.
“You have a rat close to you. Stick to my instructions and get Calix. Only then will all the hidden secrets be exposed. You are not safe, Alpha.”
“Same with your new girl.”
“She is not my girl!” I warned, grinding my teeth to declare my displeasure.
“That night, one of those men escaped. Her information is with one of my bosses.”
“Once they’ve finalized everything, they will come for her!”

Unlocking the last door on the second floor, I entered my room, slumping on the bed.
I let out a sigh, opening my mind-link before reaching out to Raphael.
“Hurry to the estate asap, I’ve got the news. The prisoner finally confessed, and he spilled everything I needed to know about Calix and his father.” I revealed. I swore I heard a gasp from him, followed by muttering of swear words before he hurriedly cut off the mind-link.
He reopened it after some seconds, and he seemed calm and collected now.
“Is there anything else you want me to do, Alpha?”
“Yes. Run a background check on Lilith asap!”
