Lilith
Shit!
I cursed inwardly after trying to push the door open but failed.
I was trapped on this floor!
Alpha Casper had noticed my presence.
I tiptoed back into the room as quietly as a mouse, shutting the door behind me.
I carefully navigated my way into the dimly lit room to avoid bumping into anything.
I made my way to the bed, sleeping under it in order not to be caught should Alpha Casper burst in suddenly.
My mind raced with a million thoughts, and my eyes were wide open in fear.
Soon, my eyelids were heavy, and I dozed up.
The chirpings of the bird-filled my ears, and my eyes fluttered open.
It was morning already.
I rolled from beneath the bed, standing on my feet to take off the dust that clung to my body.
The Sunrays seeped through the dark curtains into the room, giving it a warm orange glow.
Gently, I parted the curtains slightly, squinting as the rays hit my eyes.
Light flooded the room, and I adjusted my eyes to the brightness.
Making out the object in the room, a gasp escaped my lips.
There were 2 small beds that couldn’t fit my length. Judging from the size, they seemed to belong to 2 children about the ages of 4 or 5.
The wall of the room was decorated, and several lights dropped from the ceiling.
The urge to on them filled me, but I didn’t want to arouse Alpha’s suspicion.
Toys and storybooks were neatly arranged in a corner.
Another door was in the room that led to the closet.
On the walk of the room, several words were decorated, and small light bulbs were wired around them.
Taylor and Tyler. I read inwardly. While Taylor’s corner was filled with images of superheroes and a wolf’s head, Tyler’s corner was filled with images of the different planets. Seems he wanted to be an astronaut, unlike Tyler, who appears to be the tough one.
I slept in the children’s room!
But the question was, whose children were they?
I doubted they belonged to Alpha Casper.
I doubted he was even married.
The urge to satisfy my curiosity took a greater part of me, but I knew it would result in trouble.
I wanted to know what the Alpha hid on this floor and why it was highly prohibited, except from Raphael and the doctor.
I longed to dig out the secret he hid from the world and why this floor was where he exposed his real identity, rather than the ferocious personality he showed the world.
Tearing my gaze off the beautiful room, I walked to the door, twisting the knob gently, but it won’t open.
I almost forcefully tried to open it in a noisy manner, but I removed my hands from it, gulping hard as reality hit me.
Alpha Casper locked me inside!
I was in trouble!
This happened when I was probably sleeping. Good thing I hid under the bed all through the night, or else he would have spotted me.
I racked my brain for solutions as I could spend another hour on this floor. Soon, Anna would look for me, and my absence would give me away.
The Alpha would punish me severely this time.
I was about to break down into tears as ideas were not forthcoming when my eyes glanced through the parted curtain.
It suddenly picked up my interest, and I found my hands yanking the window apart.
Soon, it was open, and a gentle breeze blew over my face, tossing my hair around.
I lifted the window further, looking down to see if there was a room underneath, which there was. Luckily, the window of the other room was wide open.
I grabbed a fistful of my hair, groaning inwardly as the thought of what I was about to do drove me insane.
I was about to jump out of the room through the window.
That was the only way to escape.
But it wasn’t difficult since I did it several times whenever I wanted to sneak into my sister’s room when we still lived at my dad’s mansion.
Balancing at the edge of the window, I made my way out of the room, pushing my body outside before closing the curtain and the window. I peeked into the other room, seeing it was free, and I slid into it.
Turned out it was the kitchen.
I heaved a sigh of relief, knowing that I had escaped danger.
I outsmarted Alpha Casper.
I walked out of the kitchen, pushing the door open before going in the direction of my room.
Light footsteps caught my attention, and before I could turn in the direction of the kitchen, it was too late.
“Lilith. Good morning.” Anna greeted me. She was clad in her maid outfit, and a smile was planted on her face.
How was she always up so early?
“Hy,” I replied, trying to hide my anxiety.
I swallowed, maintaining a blank expression on my face to avoid her suspicion.
“Where are you coming from?” She questioned, dropping the vacuum cleaner against the wall with her eyes boring into mine.
“My room, silly. Where else would I be coming from?” I retorted, hiding the nervousness in my voice.
“I knocked on your door several times, but there was no response, which is very unlike you. The door was unlocked, so I pushed it slightly open, but you were not on your bed either.”
“And why is there dust on your hair? Did you even sleep in your room?”
*****
Casper.
The rays of the sun penetrated through the black curtain into the room. It was then I realized that I slept off instead of finding the stalker.
I had gone into my room to get the special knife that I would use to carve out the stalker’s eyes when I sat on the bed and slept off.
I woke up quite early, and the extremely faint scent still lingered on the floor.
I dropped the weapons on the table, opening the drawer to pull out a bunch of keys.
I stepped out of my room and locked every door on the last floor, including the one on the stairs as I left the house, leaving no room for escape for the stalker.
Though I wasn’t certain that someone was in the house, I couldn’t overlook the feeling in my gut.
I walked into the dungeon to see my prisoner.
My first prisoner in 10 years.
He was in a pitiable state that left his head hanging in exhaustion.
His lips were torn, and his face was swollen. I almost didn’t recognize him.
The moment he sensed my presence, fear descended on him, making his body tremble, resulting in a dull noise made by the chains that he was shackled in.
He forcefully gulped with his dry throat, and his face was covered with horror.
“You were the Alpha from…” He gasped as his teeth chattered noisily.
A smirk formed on both sides of my lips as I pinned him a terrifying look.
“I thought you died… I stabbed you with a silver knife…” he said breathlessly in shock as his eyes rested on the spot where the knife sank into me.
“Where is my knife?”
“It’s mine now,” I responded, silencing him with my Alpha tone.
“I want to know who sent you.” I started on a light note. His response to my question would determine the intensity of his torture.
“It’s unfortunate that even the loyal person around you will be the death of you!”
