Never again

“Fancy meeting you again, Bella,” he said with a smile, with his arms folded. “How have you been? I trust you loved my gift?”
“Give my kids back!” I snarled at him but didn’t walk towards him, cautious to use my powers as he placed my kids in a large stroller in front of him, all of them sleeping. Seeing Chrys sleeping made me realize the sound I thought I heard didn’t come from her. It was either that or he put her to sleep and used her to get to me.
“Your kids?” He looked down at my sleeping children. “It’s a pity they are so cute. Killing them would be so heart-wrenching.” He smirked.
“What do you want with them? You have a vendetta against me not -”
“No. I don’t have any problem with you,” he started before his gaze went to my bloody hands, and his face twisted with rage. “I didn’t have a business with you, but now I have.” He narrowed his eyes at the body on the floor. “Imelda was the perfect henchman. Now that you have killed her, I have no option but to avenge her. However, more than ever, I’m doing this to get back at your mates for what they did to my father!”
“A father like yours is not worth avenging. He deserves to die a hundred times more for what he did to my mates!” I gritted out, taking cautious steps towards him as I looked at my babies. I was studying him, trying to know how to approach him without affecting my kids.
He knew what he was doing when he placed them in front of him; however, it seemed he had forgotten I was a witch, or he didn’t know. All it would take was just a lift of my fingers, and he would be gone. However, I didn’t want that. Just like I did with Imelda, I wanted him to feel pain before his death.
“Your father is nothing but a damned bastard!”
“You bitch!” He flew across my kids, taking the bait without knowing it. The minute he was far from my mates, I used my powers on him. I had him held up in the air as he struggled.
Unlike Imelda, I had no intention of fighting with him. I only fought with Imelda because I had always wanted to do it. Though I didn’t get to do that when we were in the human world, in Lyxant, I showed her what it meant to fight with a Lord.
A growl left Kandera’s lips when I snapped his right ankle. He cried out, his voice loud enough to cause the sleeping kids to stir. With my partial focus on him, I whispered in the air, sending a soft gust of wind towards my kids, one sufficient to put them in deep slumber so they wouldn’t have to see their mother being a badass.
“Do you know how much I longed to do this? To get back at you for what you did to me back then?” I walked around him, grinning as he gritted his teeth. I didn’t give him a chance to respond before I snapped the bones in his fingers.
All it took to do this was a thought. Suspended in the air with my powers, he was helpless. As a werewolf, he held no candle to me. Had he been a witch, he would have at least tried to fight his way out.
Mocking him, I broke his bones little by little, smirking as he howled in pain. Seeing him suffering sated the deep anger within me, the one I felt when I realized my kids were taken…
He begged me, asking for death, but I didn’t give it to him. Though I couldn’t recreate the pain he caused me when he injected me with those liquids back when he took me, I wanted him to feel the same pain.
Knowing this was the real man and not a puppet made it even more thrilling. I got to show him exactly what I was made of. I wasn’t the same woman he took away from her mates when she was helpless, thinking she was human.
“How does it feel being at the other end of the stick?” I grinned when he narrowed his eyes at me. “Come on now, darling. You don’t need to look at me that way. I’m only showing you how good I am. Aren’t you proud of me? Appreciative of the woman you created.”
“Fuck you!” He breathed out.
“Oh? You still have your tongue to talk?” I lifted my right hand, forming a fist.
“No!” He screamed, but it was too late. I tugged his tongue out. The man gasped, his eyes widening before he slumped.
Watching the life leave him, I was disappointed. I figured he would still live through my torture. Who would have thought he would just give up the ghost like that?
What a waste of time.
Flicking my fingers, I set him and Imelda on fire to avoid a disaster. The last thing I wanted was for someone to steal in and take their bodies to revive. They would only return for revenge should that happen. Burning them was the only way I knew to keep them away from my business.
I watched them burn. Though I didn’t feel the immense satisfaction I thought I would feel at the thought of the two deaths, I was still happy to see them burning, knowing they would never threaten my life.
With them gone, I wouldn’t have to worry about anyone attacking the palace anymore. We have lost enough people. We couldn’t afford to lose more.
With the two burnt to a crisp, I left with my babies. I pushed the stroller out to where Devon and Chris were. From the looks of it, they must have gotten everything sorted out minutes ago. You would have thought they would come in to help me after taking care of the men out there, but they didn’t.
Chris rushed over to me and took the stroller from me as Devon held me.
“Are you alright?”
“I believe so.” Letting out a sigh, I closed my eyes, letting the darkness I’d been fighting take over.
