“Did the old man agree? Your mom couldn’t persuade him?” Flynn couldn’t help but frown, slightly annoyed.
Scarlet sighed, a trace of resentment in her voice: “Once the old man decides, no one can change his mind.”
“I plan to give him a call and talk.”
Flynn gave a bitter smile. “If your mom couldn’t persuade him, do you think he’ll listen to you?”
“Let them do what they want. Since you didn’t go, even discussing the engagement party is pointless.”
“Are they going to steal my woman from me?”
Scarlet felt a warmth in her heart and replied, “Well, I won’t worry about it for now. I’ll explain when I get back to Pelens.”
“Oh, by the way, why are you looking for Molly?”
Flynn said, “To help her advance to Grandmaster. Otherwise, she’ll die sooner or later on her path of vengeance.”
“Don’t bring up Zion to her until she reaches Great Grandmaster. Don’t leak any information before that.”
He thought of Molly not only as a burden but also as a ticking bomb, ready to explode at any moment.
For now, the only option was to enhance her martial arts skills to give her some ability to protect herself.
“Don’t worry, I’ll keep my mouth shut. Call her, and I’ll go wash some clothes.”
After hanging up, Flynn dialed Molly’s number, and she answered after three rings.
“Meet me at Plenilune Mountain. I’ll teach you martial arts today,” Flynn said straightforwardly.
There was a pause on the other end, followed by an excited voice: “Okay, I’m at Sovereign Estate Promenade Lane, just buying some bubble tea. I’ll take a cab there.”
“Forget it, I’ll pick you up on my way,” Flynn said as he started his car toward Sovereign Estate.
The drive took only five minutes. Flynn arrived at the Sovereign Estate food street, at the bubble tea shop.
The place was packed, with a line stretching thirty meters long.
Mostly couples, loosely queued and mostly engrossed in their phones.
“Is business that good? Over two hundred people lining up for bubble tea?” Flynn was taken aback by the scene.
“Who would have thought? Who started this trend of the first bubble tea of autumn that supposedly shoots you to the sky? I heard it’s not cheap either, fifty dollars a cup!” an old man nearby shook his head, bewildered.
A young man laughed and said, “Old man, that’s where you’re wrong. This shop knows how to do business. They brought in several influencers with millions of followers for promotion, and now it’s a hotspot for check-ins.”
“It’s all about the influencer economy! They also launched a new flavor of bubble tea, beautifully packaged and tasty. The owner must be making a fortune!”
After saying this, the young man looked enviously at the bubble tea shop.
A pot-bellied man stood at the shop’s entrance, his face forever smiling at the long queue of customers.
Molly, standing in line, waved at Flynn.
Seeing she still had a dozen people ahead of her, Flynn found a spot to sit and started scrolling through his phone.
After watching hundreds of clips on a popular short video platform, Molly was still not done.
Flynn looked up, annoyed.
Great! Molly still had two people in front of her, and the customers ahead were buying in bulk, obviously picking up drinks for friends.
Flynn was frustrated and walked toward Molly; he was fed up!
How could bubble tea be that good?
He couldn’t understand these girls at all!
Seeing Flynn approaching with a stern face, Molly panicked a bit.
She felt embarrassed making Flynn wait so long.
Luckily, the couple in front of her had just picked up eight cups of bubble tea and left.
Molly was about to speak when an elderly man and a young woman pushed in front of her, loudly ordering the clerk:
“One wheat aroma and one caramel, hurry up! My friend is almost here.”
The young woman, wearing glasses with a round face and slightly buck teeth, spoke in a commanding tone, completely disregarding those waiting behind her.
The old lady had a potato-shaped face, a head full of white hair, thin lips, bulging eyes, and large bags under them. Her face was expressionless, yet her demeanor was fierce.
When Molly saw the woman cut in line, anger flared within her. She reached out and pulled the young woman, intending to confront her.
The young woman, feeling someone tugging at her, immediately looked sullen.
She whirled around.
Just then, Flynn had arrived at Molly’s side. The young woman, mistaking him for the one who had pulled her, glared at him furiously: “Are you sick? Why are you pulling me?”
The scene fell silent instantly.
Flynn was stunned.
He couldn’t understand what she meant.
Molly hadn’t expected the woman to be so quick-tempered and was taken aback. She quickly explained, “No… it wasn’t him, it was me. Your line-cutting is just too…”
“Shut up!” The young woman screamed at Molly, yelling, “It was this man who pulled me, don’t you dare cover for him!”
Flynn’s face darkened, and he didn’t bother to explain who had pulled her. He coldly retorted, “So, cutting in line is justified now?”
“So what if I cut in line? Why are you pulling?”
“Why are you pulling me?”
“Don’t think just because you’re a man I’m afraid of you, you’re just a bully, I’m telling you!”
“I hate people like you who bully the weak and fear the strong!”
“Jerk!”
The woman, her face fierce and angry, adjusted her glasses after every sentence she spat out, eventually ripping them off in a rage and unleashing a tirade at Flynn.
The old lady also lost her temper, her eyes bulging as she snarled at Flynn, “What’s wrong with cutting in line? I don’t think you’re any good either.”
“What’s the big deal about cutting in line? What are you showing off for? No one else is complaining, just you!”
The crowd around them was in an uproar.
For a moment, no one understood what was happening.
Seeing the irrational behavior, Molly also grew angry, “Everyone has been waiting in line for over half an hour, and you just cut to the front. Isn’t that a bit rude?”
“I’ll cut in line if I want to, what’s it to you? I’ll cut!”
After glaring at Molly, the woman turned and shouted at Flynn: “You’ve messed with the wrong person today, I’m telling you! I’m not someone to be trifled with!”
“We’re not to be trifled with!” The old lady also glared fiercely at Flynn, yelling at him.
People behind them started to intervene.
“Brother, let it go, they’re women. Don’t upset the old lady too much, it’ll only cause you trouble.”
“Hey, better to avoid trouble. Peace brings wealth, just bear with it.”
“Alright, alright, stop arguing. It’s almost your turn anyway. Just endure a little, no need to make such a big fuss.”
Seeing the woman continuing to be unreasonable, Molly didn’t want to argue any further and said to Flynn:
“You go over there and wait, let them buy first.”
After speaking, she forcibly pulled Flynn’s arm to leave.
The woman was relentless, pointing at Flynn and proclaiming to the people behind her, “This kind of man, it’s wrong to physically pull someone! Pulling people is wrong! Wrong!”
The old lady also moved up to Flynn, tilting her head and glaring at him, “We will cut in line! Just cut, what’s it to you? Want to hit me? Go ahead, hit me!”
“Huh? Hit!”
Flynn, already pulled away a few steps by Molly, heard the old lady’s taunt. Could his temper tolerate it?
He broke free from Molly’s grip and, raising his hand, slapped the old lady across the face.
Flynn’s slap was not light; it sent the old lady flying from her spot, tumbling to the ground with a swollen nose and face, nearly breaking her back, whimpering in pain.
“Come on! Show me how tough you are!”
