Seeing Finn about to move against Darnell, Kendra hesitated for a moment and gently shook her head and stopped him,
“Finn, that’s enough. We didn’t come to Whiteville just for fun. We are attached to the task force investigating the Whiteville shooting case.”
“As consultants, we need to monitor the case’s progress and assist when necessary.”
Her red lips were enticing. “Getting involved in these trivial matters lowers our status and makes it easy for people to hold something against us. Focus on the bigger picture.”
Finn laughed, “The shooting case sounds scary, with five police officers and three bandits dead.”
“But in my eyes, it’s a minor case, not worth much. If it weren’t inconvenient to intervene directly, I would have solved it in three days.”
“The Lonsdale brothers and Carson Bateman? I can take them down by myself.”
“Unfortunately, we are only allowed to act as consultants, providing some references to the task force and coordinating with the military police when necessary. We are strictly prohibited from direct involvement.”
He looked proud as he continued, “Otherwise, it would have been resolved by now.”
Bella nodded quickly. “Exactly. Those bandits are no threat to us. It’s not that they are too powerful. It’s that the police in Whiteville are too incompetent.”
“Forget it. Let’s just follow what the old man instructed.”
Finn stretched lazily. “Let’s eat and drink as we please without being too restrained.” He glanced at Areli,
“I could also try to woo some girls if I get the chance. Such a beautiful person shouldn’t be wasted like that.”
Among all the women he had met and been with, none compared to Areli except Kendra and Abbigail Cornish. Her cold demeanor especially intrigued him, igniting his desire for conquest.
His gaze invaded Areli’s body, particularly her long legs, making him wish he could pounce on her right then.
Elvis, who had been silently smiling with an air of mystery, turned his head to look at Areli upon hearing this and added solemnly,
“Finn, you can pursue that woman if you want, but you cannot use any underhanded methods against her.”
“Although she is just a general manager at Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, she can directly interact with Spencer Matson. I’ve seen her appear in Spencer’s study.”
He warned, “If she gets hurt, you and I might be doomed.”
Hearing Spencer’s name made Finn twitch his lips, dissipating most of his arrogance.
Kendra sighed softly, “Finn, put away your thoughts. If you think we’re here just for fun, you’re mistaken.”
“The six-billion-dollar case involves so many people that no one can imagine it.”
While Finn was momentarily stunned and thoughtful, Bella pouted.
“What’s interesting about discussing cases? The police will handle those trivial matters. Right now, I just want to teach that bastard a lesson.”
She found Darnell increasingly annoying.
“If you’re so upset with him, I’ll vent your anger for you.”
Finn smiled at Kendra, “Don’t worry. I’ll go easy on him. No harm or bloodshed.”
He then finished his soda in one gulp and walked towards David and his group. “David, aren’t you going to introduce your new friends?”
David turned his head and saw Finn approaching. He was slightly taken aback but then his eyes lit up as he understood.
“Mr. Peel, you want to meet my friends?”
David smiled, “Let me introduce you to them.”
He pointed at Jazmine and said, “This is Jazmine Picton from the Harmony Hospital.”
Then he pointed at Finn. “This is Finn Peel from the Westergold army’s famous Snow Leopard unit.”
Jazmine’s eyes lit up. She could tell from David’s respect that this person was significant. She smiled sweetly and extended her hand.
“Snow Leopard is a renowned special forces unit. For someone as young as you to join them must mean you are very capable.”
“Nice to meet you.” She subtly brushed her palm against his.
“The pleasure is mine, Miss Picton.” Finn accepted her ambiguous gesture with a smile. After shaking hands, he looked at Areli and Darnell. “And these two are?”
“This is Areli Fanshaw from Spectrum Pharmaceuticals and her assistant Darnell Halford,” David continued introducing them. “Mr. Halford is also the one who slapped me earlier.”
Finn’s eyes brightened as he looked at Areli. He made no effort to hide his interest and extended his hand. “Hello, Miss Fanshaw.”
Areli responded indifferently, “Hello.” She could sense his ill intentions and quickly withdrew her hand after a light touch.
“Mr. Halfordl, pleased to meet you.” Finn was dissatisfied with Areli’s attitude but refrained from reacting publicly. Instead, he extended his hand towards Darnell.
“You did quite well, playing dumb and fooling everyone.” His smile carried a hint of malice. “But such behavior can easily get your brains blown out.”
“Thank you!” Darnell cheerfully shook his hand “Thank you for your compliment, Mr. Peel.” He observed Finn closely. He was about 1. 8 meters tall with a well-built physique, bronze skin, a crew cut, and sharp features.
His body exuded a strong scent of gunpowder, clearly a seasoned soldier who had seen combat.
As soon as he grasped Darnell’s hand, Finn applied pressure, intending to make Darnell cry out.
Darnell snorted inwardly. Challenging him to a test of strength was amusing.
As thoughts raced through his mind, Darnell’s expression turned strange before appearing extremely painful while secretly exerting force.
Feeling Darnell’s resistance amused Finn. Underestimating him was foolish. He increased his grip strength accordingly.
Sure enough, Darnell let out a cry as his face twisted in discomfort.
Their hands remained tightly clasped together with veins bulging prominently. However, Darnell’s hand appeared relatively smaller.
Everyone present was astute enough to recognize this wasn’t just an ordinary handshake but rather a contest of strength.
David and Jazmine watched gleefully while their cronies eagerly awaited Darnell’s humiliation.
Areli’s face changed color as she shouted angrily,
“Mr. Peel, let go! This is too much!”
“David! Tell your friend to let go!”
“As a soldier, bullying civilians isn’t honorable!”
At this point, Bella had already bounced over, looking proud. “Finn, break his hand, so he learns not to be so arrogant!”
Finn twitched his lips without responding, his expression peculiar.
Kendra, along with Elvis, also strolled over, leisurely saying, “Finn, enough! Let go!”
Yet, Finn remained silent, biting down hard on his lips, almost drawing blood.
No one understood the pain inflicted upon him. He attempted to intimidate Darnell, only to end up having his confidence shattered by his opponent’s strength. The force with which his palm was suppressed not only took control of the initiative but also restricted his body’s ability to fight back.
In other words, he was at Darnell’s mercy, and whether to let go or not was up to Darnell.
Finn, furious and resentful, yet without any recourse, had to grit his teeth and bear the pain, lest he lose face and his pride.
Kendra also let out a light laugh. “Finn, stop playing. That’s enough.”
Areli’s pretty face turned completely cold. “Mr. Peel, if you don’t let go, I’m going to get rough with you.”
Darnell knew it was time to let go, and he cried out, releasing his grip, and hopped around in place. “It hurts so much!.”
Finn stood in place, not feeling happy, only a bead of sweat rolling down his forehead.
His hand was dislocated and broken.
