Twenty balls, all pocketed in one shot.
At that moment, everyone doubted their own eyes. Darnell’s first perfect game could be attributed to luck.
But now, with another perfect shot, it was hard to dismiss it as mere luck. David rubbed his eyes and asked Jazmine with a trembling voice,
“Miss Picton, twenty balls, all in?”
Jazmine, still in shock, nodded mechanically, her pretty face stiff. “Yes, all in.”
This time, the crowd was even more astonished than the first.
If Darnell’s earlier performance was considered lucky, this time, it was clear that his skill was undeniable.
After all, if someone’s luck were that good, they’d win the lottery and become the richest person in the world.
Elvis and Kendra were also silent. They had to admit that Darnell had given them a strong shock.
“Twenty balls? All in?”
Areli, who had been swearing to tear Darnell apart, froze when she saw him pocket all twenty balls.
Then she cheered and hugged Darnell, shouting, “All in! Darnell, you’re amazing.”
She kissed Darnell several times on the face before realizing what she was doing and wiped her mouth repeatedly.
Darnell glared at her discontentedly. “Miss Fanshaw, how can you kiss me without my consent? That’s disrespectful.”
Areli nearly exploded with anger and pinched Darnell hard. “You scoundrel!”
Darnell dodged with a grin and then wrapped an arm around her waist. “Just kidding. Don’t be mad. If you want to punish me, let’s do it in bed.”
He whispered in her ear, “I’ve prepared bamboo for the panda.”
Areli paused for a moment before blushing and hitting Darnell angrily. “You rogue!”
Darnell laughed and jumped away before calling out to Jazmine and David, “Miss Picton, Mr. Kemp, do you still want to play?”
Jazmine and David remained silent, their faces darkening.
In this three-person game, each round took five minutes. At most, they could play twelve rounds in an hour. Unless they could match Darnell’s skill of pocketing all balls in one shot every time, they had no chance of surpassing his score. The competition was pointless now.
Continuing would only result in further embarrassment.
David’s club dropped to the ground with a thud. His face turned ashen. He knew there was no need to continue. In twenty-one rounds, Darnell had completed them with just twenty-one shots. Even if he and Jazmine combined their efforts, they couldn’t achieve such a level.
That damned Darnell had completely outsmarted them.
This loss was huge. Two billion dollars in orders and a Rolex watch worth five million dollars, all gone in less than ten minutes.
It was crazier than gambling in a casino.
In the distance, Kendra nodded slightly and smiled rarely, thinking this man was indeed interesting.
Darnell tossed his club aside and walked up to Jazmine and David arrogantly. “Do you want to continue or admit defeat?”
Jazmine’s body stiffened as she forced out a sentence. “Mr. Halford’s skills are extraordinary. I truly admire you.”
David wore a dark expression.
The entire place fell silent. No one dared to say a word against Darnell.
“Enough with the flattery.”
Darnell directly took the watch from David’s wrist and turned to Areli. “Miss Fanshaw, you can get the two-billion-dollar order.”
“This watch is mine now.”
Areli hesitated for a moment but decided to accept it since it was won by Darnell fair and square. “Alright, I’ll arrange it.”
Then she frowned at Darnell. “Return the watch to Mr. Kemp. I’ll buy you one tomorrow.”
She didn’t want any entanglements with David.
Darnell protested publicly, “No way! This is the bet.”
Areli raised her eyebrows, repeating her words. “Give it back to Mr. Kemp.”
Darnell chuckled, “Returning it would be an affront to Mr. Kemp’s manhood. People would say he can’t accept losing gracefully. He would be a laughingstock then.”
David’s lips twitched twice before he squeezed out a sentence through gritted teeth, “I never go back on my losses. I will win it back.”
“1848? Nice serial number.”
Darnell pocketed the Rolex and said, “Good. I’ll wait for you to win it back. By the way, there’s also five million dollars. Did you bring a checkbook?”
“If you did, write it now. If not, there’s a monthly interest of three percent starting tomorrow. I’ll be waiting for your money at Spectrum Pharmaceuticals.”
He thought for a moment and asked the caddie for paper and pen. “No, you’re too cunning. I don’t trust you. You better write me an IOU.”
David clenched his fists tightly. He had never been so humiliated but couldn’t do anything about it under everyone’s gaze. He pulled out his checkbook and wrote five checks quickly.
“Five million dollars. Take it!”
David threw the check at Darnell before he muttered under his breath, “Rest assured. I’ll get back everything I’ve lost with interest.”
Darnell shrugged indifferently. “That’s the third time you’ve said that.”
David wanted to shout for an executioner to chop Darnell into pieces.
Areli glared at Darnell but felt helpless against this troublemaker. She turned to Jazmine.
“Miss Picton, I brought all the necessary documents today. We can sit down and sign the contract now.”
Darnell also took out his phone and waved it with a smile. “Don’t try to renege. I recorded everything.”
Jazmine’s face darkened as she remained silent but cursed Darnell inwardly.
At that moment, Darnell picked up a golf ball and stared coldly at Bella in the distance. “Didn’t you say you’d eat this ball if I pocketed it in one shot?”
His gaze locked onto Bella’s legs. “If you can’t eat it, I’ll allow you to shove it inside.” He always paid back grudges.
Areli kicked Darnell. “Stop it. Have some sense of propriety.”
Darnell laughed as he ran away before pulling Areli along to finalize the contract with Jazmine.
With everyone around, Jazmine had no choice but to sit down reluctantly and negotiate terms that minimized her losses.
Meanwhile, in the distance, Kendra held Bella tightly, trying to calm her down. “Bella, don’t get agitated.”
Bella stomped her foot angrily as she looked at Kendra Finn,
“Finn, Kendra! That bastard is too arrogant, provoking me again and again. Who does he think he is? How dare he challenge me?”
“What right does he have to be so cocky? If I don’t crush him now, how will I face my friends? How will I survive in Goldkeep?”
Kendra smiled helplessly, “Why bother getting angry at him? It’s not worth it.”
Finn laughed heartily, “I feel the same way as Bella. That guy is too outrageous. Just looking at him pisses me off.”
“And although we don’t interact much with David, he’s still on the fringes of our circle.”
“Watching him be humiliated like this by that bastard makes me infuriated too. Elvis, Kendra, why don’t we teach him a lesson?”
As he said this, he looked at Darnell, threw his cigarette butt on the ground, and stomped on it.
“He needs to learn some manners, doesn’t he?”
