Kayla
I walked down the huge hallway of the castle with Robin beside me. We arrived at a large open training field that was filled to the brim with a variety of weapons, a few refreshments were placed at the corner of the table, water, and a few towels. And guards were stationed around the ground.
I decided to do a little warm-up before doing some strength training with Robin.
Putting on a wristband and a timer, I let out a breath and began running through the huge training ground. After I was done, Robin suggested we throw knives and walk to a table at the far end of the ground, and I followed behind him.
He took out the small piece of velvet cloth that was placed upon it. I looked at the table and saw a small tray that had a variety of knives on it.
Curiosity got the better of me so I reached for the tray to examine the weapons. Some were long, others short, some had a double-edged while a few had a small bent on the tip like a loop.
His fingers traced the edge of the tray as he muttered, “Every knife is sharp and can kill but you need to know the right one to use in a fight.”
He then moved forward and uncovered another tray that was also covered by a small red velvet cloth.
I furrowed my eyebrows and inquired “Are you by chance preparing me for a war? I thought we were here to do regular training. Why are we throwing knives?
He chuckled and pulled up a target hidden behind one of the several huge gray-colored drapes. “Hitting a bullseye would tire you out quickly, that way you would easily get tired and not be worrying yourself about my grouchy toad brother.” He stated as we both burst out laughing.
It made no sense to me though.
But I went near the knives and picked one up. It was a short knife with a wooden hilt and a small, pointed blade. It weighed next to nothing so it would fly through the air if used at a good speed. I played with it in my fingers and stood in front of the target.
I shrugged and aimed. The target was barely a few feet away. I closed one eye to aim perfectly and pulled my hand behind a bit, deliberating the force needed to hit the target. After taking a few steps forward and behind, I finally released the knife. It missed the target completely. The knife clattered to the ground with a clang. I looked at Robin and gave him a nervous smile.
He chuckled and went to retrieve the knife from the ground. “Don’t be too hard on yourself Luna, it’s just a game.”
” I will try a different knife,” I said and walked towards the tray and picked an identical-looking one. Taking a few deep breaths, I concentrated on the bullseye and imagined it as Elena’s heart. The thought of piercing that bitch’s heart made me filter out everything else that was going on in my head except her scrawny face.
I closed one eye and aimed at the giant red spot painted in the center. I let out a breath, and let go of the knife.
It flew out of my hand and hit the edge of the target. It did not stay stuck and still clattered to the ground but at least I was able to pierce her heart in my mind.
Robin moved to the tray and retrieved a knife from it before walking towards me.
“Take this” He offered me, holding the hilt side of the knife in front of me.
I took it and he closed his hand around mine. He angled his body behind mine and whispered,
” The most important thing is to relax. If you focus too much on hitting the bullseye, you will only pressure yourself a lot more than intended.”
His other hand went around my waist and he gently pulled me back, as he made me mirror his stance. “Now what you do is pull back your hand, breathe, look at the target, aim, and release the knife.”
The knife flew out of my hand and struck the bullseye. I jumped up and clapped my hands like an excited kid who had discovered a secret chamber filled with lollipops, instantly I jumped into his arms.
Robin engulfed me, his hands holding me firmly, as he spinned me around in his arms. I held onto him while giggling hard. Suddenly, a loud growl silenced the air. I stiffened.
I whipped my head to where the loud growls emanated from, it came from the entrance of the training ground and a very angry-looking Asher was approaching us with an angry scowl. If it were to be possible for looks to kill, then I bet I would be dead and bleeding all across the ground. My eyes darted back to Robin, his eyes were on Asher as well. He looked pissed as he stood before us.
And there was this staunch look in his eyes that forced a shiver down my spine.
” What the hell are you guys doing?” he growled and pulled me out of Robin’s arms and body. His eyes flashed with something I never thought I’d see in him. Jealousy.
Everything moved in a slow motion as I felt Asher’s heated gaze all over my body. The light breeze around now carried his manly scent and musk.
I felt my body begin to shiver as his amber eyes turned almost dark. Emotions swirled up in his eyes, a mixture of jealousy and primal lust.
I have never felt so naked in my entire life like I did at the moment. Asher’s eyes slowly scanned my body from head to toe and my body trembled under his hungry gaze.
” What the fuck are you wearing Kayla? You’re the Luna of the pack, why are you dressed like that?” His dark eyes, blinded with desire and need, scanned my face.
