I shut my eyes and whispered. “Shut your mouth, Avery.” I didn’t want to hear what next was coming out of her mouth.
“No, this is fun.” Her eyes widened with laughter. “He bullied me and did whatever he wanted, but you switched sides.”
“I didn’t switch any sides. You are just being delusional.”
“You scared me, Violet. When I found out, he wanted you. I couldn’t believe my ears.”
“Shut your trap. Shut your funky smelling mouth. You need to shut it and stop talking.”
“Why?” She truly laughs like a maniac. “What is it! Did my words hit a nerve?” She cackled. “So, you knew his feelings…”
“That’s enough, Avery.” I froze and turned to look at who was talking?
Willow.
“Willow.” She smirked. “What a pleasant surprise for you to show up here after your-”
“Can you drop it?” Willow came forward holding a pink handbag on her arm. “It’s been three to four years maybe, or probably five years, I think. It’s time you drop this stupid incident about Ash betraying you. If I recall correctly, Avery, I warned you about Ash, too. You didn’t listen to us back then. You agreed to become his whore. Why are you seeking revenge after all this time? Do you think-”
“Drop the gun down or else I will shoot your brains with no hesitation.”
James.
He walked past us and pointed his gun at Avery. “Walk out of this facility quietly, without hurting no one. I wouldn’t hurt you if you do so, but if you hurt anyone here, I wouldn’t hesitate to kill you.”
Avery gritted her teeth and walked past us without a word, and then she stopped. “I haven’t forgotten what you did, Violet. I remember what you did ten years ago and why Ash protects you from your trauma. How you got blood on your hands at a young age. I will expose them all.”
I gasped and covered my mouth with both hands. I shut my eyes and sighed for a second and put on a bold expression. “You are being silly, Avery.” I forced out a smile. “You know nothing about my life. Get out of here.”
“We will see about that, Violet Stormclaw.” She walked out of the facility and I sighed, feeling relieved at how everything turned out to be.
I took a step to Ash’s ward to see how he was before I go back home.
“Violet.” Willow called to me and walked up to me with her hand on my left shoulder. I smiled and tightly hugged her, with tears rushing down my cheeks.
I missed her so much. I haven’t seen her in three years and she looks so beautiful.
This is my best friend. My loyal friend in the world.
She has always been by my side. I love how beautiful she is, and she hasn’t aged a day. She still looks the same except for hair. It was silky black and long, too.
“I miss you so much, Violet.” She hugged and also cried on my shoulders. “How have you been? I know you are going through a lot right now. I just want to tell you I’m here to stay and be by your side,” Willow assured me and kept patting my shoulders. I nodded and muttered a ‘Thank you’
I love her black crop top and her pair of jeans with the black snickers. It goes with the bag and everything.
She was gorgeous.
We hugged each other for a few minutes before pulling away from each other. I was so happy to see my best friend again.
“You’ve lost so much weight, bestie.” Willow put on a smile and tapped my shoulder.
“I’ve been busy, bestie.” I smiled back and James came over to me with a chuckle. “I’m glad both of you have finally met each other.”
“Thanks, James, for driving me over here.”
“It’s my pleasure.”
I looked at both of them. “Wait, you guys met each other along the way.”
“Yeah.” Willow nodded. “I was having such a bad day today with someone. Then James saw me strolling by the roadside and gave me a ride here.”
“Oh, I see.” I finally understood how they met each other.
James held my hand and Willow motioned us to go see Ash at the ward.
“Let’s not go anymore to see him.” My gaze fell to my feet. I didn’t want them to see my eyes soaking with tears since I’m assured he is perfectly okay by seeing how locked up the ward was. There was no need to go see him again.
“Why!” Willow asked.
“What happened?” James nudged me. “You were so eager to see him today. Why the change of heart?!”
“Tell me, Violet.” Willow touched my arm. “Is he okay?”
“He is fine.” I nodded. “I just want him to wake up. Everything is just a mess right now.”
“Violet, I told you…”
“Can you leave us alone, James? I need to talk to her. I would like you to give us some privacy.”
James agreed. “Ok. Call me when you need me, sweetie.” He kissed me across the cheek and left us alone.
“Alright.” I gave a nod.
Willow held my hand and pulled me along with her. “There’s a great cafe nearby.” She happily informed me. “Let’s go check it out and chill our brains out.”
I laughed. “Let’s go.” She was as cheerful as usual.
I followed her to the cafe, and it was actually great, like she said.
It chilled my brains out and made me relax a little.
I wish I knew this place earlier. I would have always come here to relax but unfortunately I didn’t notice the cafe around here.
Ash and I could come here sometime if we want, anyway.
The cafe is actually refreshing and relaxing. So quiet and cool, too.
Willow sipped from her cup after we both ordered for what we wanted, and she glanced at me.
“Why are you looking at me like that?!” I laughed and slid the strand of my hair behind my left ear.
She put the cup down and wiped her hands around the cup on the table with a long sigh.
“Can you say something and stop sighing at me as if it’s the end of the world?” I tried laughing again, and she just nodded and looked outside the window.
She had a soft glance at her expression and a sad look overwhelmed her eyes.
“Violet.” She called me and looked at me again. “You’ve lost so much weight.”
Well, she knows I’ve lost so much weight. She must have seen me in the media a few days ago, to know how I previously looked.
“I know.” I took my cup and took a sip from it. “You don’t have to tell me twice.” I dropped the cup on the table. “I’ve been taking care of Ash for the past three years.”
