WHO’S THE CULPRIT?

Book:His Darkened Obsession Published:2024-11-27

“They messed everything up.” I confessed and questioned. “Why didn’t you come over? I was waiting for you.”
“I wasn’t feeling well, and I felt pretty lazy to come over, so…”
We heard an uproar, and lots of students were running so fast down the hallway.
“What’s happening now?” I groaned and stood up from my chair, climbed onto the desk, and jumped on the floor.
“I have no clue.” Violet stood up. “Let’s go check it out.”
“Yeah.” We ran out of the classroom and followed the students running downstairs and saw a dead body on the floor.
I moved closer to the body and saw Mr. Derek’s head nearly split up and his blood flowed out of his body like a pool.
I gasped and covered my mouth with both hands in horror.
And the most shocking part of it all was that, the spot his body laid on, on the ground, deeply cracked.
Which means a werewolf used his superhuman strength, using so much force to push him off the building.
How could a heartless soul push someone down an 8 story building to the ground?
Who could have done this? I thought and moved backwards. When I looked over at Violet’s direction, she froze and started breathing so fast.
“Violet.” I touched her shoulder, but she pulled away from me and looked up at the school building. I followed her eyes and traced the position of the window to Mr. Derek’s body on the ground.
“Someone killed him.” A red-haired female among the crowds murmured.
“Who the fuck could have done this in broad daylight?!” An Alpha added and covered his nose.
“I can’t believe this. Why, Mr. Derek, of all people?” A green-haired girl cried out in panic. “I just saw him today. He was ready for class.” She yelled.
“Who could have done something this horrible? This is bad.” The fourth werewolf joined in the conversation. “We’ve got to report this to the police,” and the rest of the people were murmuring.
“Who did this to him?” I looked over at James, pushing himself through the crowd to Violet.
“Are you okay?” James asked with concern and for a second, I wondered if both of them were dating.
“Upstairs.” She whispered. “The murderer is up at the building.”
“Violet, what are you talking about?” James asked.
Violet took a couple of steps back, her eyes turned purple, her fangs sprouted out and she ran.
“VIOLET.” We both called out in unison and went after her, using our speed to catch up to her.
We hurried to the first building where Mr. Derek fell out from, and the library looked clean, as if nobody had been here before.
“Are we sure we are in the right place?!” James broke the silence.
“I’m not sure.” I whispered and kept looking around at Violet, trying so hard to sniff out any pheromones.
“Violet, are you sure this is the right place?”
“Yes, this is the place. Mr. Derek fell from.”
“I think so.” I also sniffed. “This place is warm.”
“Warm?” James frowned. “What are you talking about?”
Violet touched the window and other furniture at the library. “Someone has cleansed up this place.” She voiced out. “Can’t you perceive bleach and air freshener here?!”
“You are right.” I also perceived the fragrance of bleach and air freshener too.
“I’m not letting this culprit get away from me. First it was Avery, James, and now it is Mr. Derek?”
“This has nothing to do with me,” James let out.
“What are you talking about?!” Violet frowned. “This has nothing to do with you?”
“Yes.” He boldly replied to Violet. “If you are right that this is the same spot someone pushed him off the window to die, then we shouldn’t be here. This is a crime scene. Our pheromones are gonna mix with Mr. Derek’s now. We are gonna be suspects.”
“Of course we are.” I joined in. “You and I both know the St. Victoria’s Academy wouldn’t involve the police in this. The school’s reputation matters so much to them and besides, the police are humans and not werewolves.”
“Someone just died!” Violet yelled at James. “And what came out of your mouth is, ‘it has nothing to do with you’ how heartless can you be?!”
“Stop holding up the sympathy card, Violet.” James faced Violet. “I love you so much and I don’t want you getting into this mess. And by the way, this isn’t the first time people are dying in this school, anyway.”
He loves her so much? So, the rumors were true.
They are actually dating. Does Ash know about this?
“Sympathy card? You think I’m faking this? What do you mean by this isn’t the first time people are dying anyway?”
“I don’t think you are faking it or putting up an act. Whatever you choose to say, but what I will say is, don’t get involved in this. Someone killed him.”
“Are we sure about that?!” I interrupted the moment as they both fixed their gaze on me. “Why do I have the feeling he walked in here on his own?!”
“WHAT!” they both yelled.
Yep, because that’s what it looks like to me. Why is the library a teacher fell out of be so clean and reeked of only his pheromones?
That tells something.
“Yes, we have no clue or evidence. Looks that way to me.”
“Listen, Willow. Someone just died here and we can’t sit back and let this-”
“Or else what?” He coldly walked in. “Violet.” He finished.
We all saw Storm walking in, in his school uniform, his arms folded across his chest and his stern look was annoying.
I couldn’t even tell what he’s thinking.
“Someone died some minutes ago and you are all here bickering between yourselves. Are y’all dumb?”
“What is going on here?” Jinx also strolled in.
“Where’s Ash?” Violet questioned.
“He’s not here right now,” Anderson replied and also came inside the library. “What’s going on here?” He looked around us with an oblivious expression.
“Mr. Derek is dead.” James confessed and also crossed his arms across his chest.
“What! Dead? How?” He faced me.
I shrugged my shoulders at him. “Had no clue on how he died. I would have said you should check through the window, but students are downstairs and if they see you, you will be their suspect.” I explained to him.
“He fell off the window, right?” He looked at each of us. “That’s why you are all here. Who’s the killer?”
