LEAVE HER ALONE.

I stopped in my tracks as he walked past me without a word.
I turned to him, but he wasn’t saying a word and neither did he look in my direction when he got out of the classroom.
Did anything happen while I was away a second ago?
I looked over my desk, and Willow and Anderson were chatting between themselves.
I hope nothing happened, because Ash’s look earlier, when he walked past me, sent chills down my spine.
~James’s Pov~
“You keep chasing her like a little puppy. You’ve become a leech, James.”
My gaze fell on Ash, who walked closer to me with both hands in his pockets and his black palm slippers and his white socks on.
He was Violet’s twin alpha brother.
I’ve heard so much about him and how no one plays with the wolves of the Silvermist Pack because of how powerful and arrogant most of them are.
“What are you talking about?” I frowned as he walked close to me with a little smug expression and a cunning smile.
What is he up to this time?
His reputation wasn’t a piece of a cake.
“You keep chasing my sister all over the place.”
“You got a problem with that?”
“Yes, I do.” He put on a wide smile. “And it makes me sick to my stomach seeing you getting close to my sister. Stay away from her. I wouldn’t warn you again. Stay away from my sister, Alpha James.”
I’ve heard some rumors about him about how protective he was to his sister.
It is normal for an alpha to be protective towards their sisters and be wary of alphas who just want to get in between their sister’s legs to satisfy their unquenchable lust.
He’s an alpha, so he knows the desires alphas have going on in their heads and he just wants to make sure his sister doesn’t be a victim.
I get what he was doing. However, his protection towards his sister is extremely abnormal. And the rumors I’ve heard about him are nothing to write home about.
“If you are worried, I’m just getting close to her to satisfy my dick. Think again. I love her and I want to be with her.”
“But you had sex with her after a week of getting close to her. If that doesn’t scream red flags, I don’t know what else will.”
Fuck it! He knew we had sex.
“Listen, Ash. I’ve known you and Violet for a long time, and you know that-”
He laughed. “I know nothing, James. Don’t put me in with you and your sickly desires. You took her virginity, James, and you claim to love her? Don’t make me laugh.”
Why does he know so much?
I sensed how furious he was. He was smiling at me, but his pheromones weren’t telling the same thing.
The scent of his pheromones when he is angry smells bad.
Like rotten eggs. And he was still smiling at me as if it wasn’t a big deal.
This alpha is a cunning little snake.
“Ash, this has nothing to do with you.”
“There’s always these words guys put up with whenever they are shoved to a corner.” He smirked. ‘This has nothing to do with you’, he mocked with a low chuckle. ‘Listen, James, don’t push me any further. Let’s all be cool, okay? Stay away from Violet and we are all good.’ He grinned. ‘Got it!’
“And why should I do that – ”
“Because she is my sister.” He responded and leaned closer to my ear and darkly whispered. “Unless you don’t want to die by slipping your foot down the stairs. I won’t warn you again.”
He smirked again and strolled past me.
I stood in the grand hallway, which was imposing, with high ceilings and polished marble floors that gleam under the soft glow of ornate chandeliers.
Students have silver lockers lining the walls.
The air is cool and faintly scented with a hint of cedar, giving a sense of both opulence and masculinity.
I stood in the same spot for a couple of minutes, thinking about what Ash had just said to me.
Was he threatening me?
I got home after my driver dropped me off at my mansion.
I clenched my black bag and walked upstairs, going to my room.
“James.”
I stopped and looked at the dining table and saw my mother eating vegetables and boiled chicken on a separate plate at the dining table.
“What happened? Are you okay?”
“I didn’t know you were coming back from your trip today.” I responded instead.
“Huh! Aren’t you happy that I’m home, James?”
“No, I’m not.” I rolled my eyes and walked up the staircase when my mother stopped me again.
“I can’t believe you are not happy to see me home. You used to be so excited to see me whenever I was home. You would hug me and cry out to me to get you lots of cookies and candies.”
“Yeah, that was when I was little. I’m not a kid anymore.”
“You are my child. My only son. You are just 17.”
“Still not a kid, mom.”
I wasn’t expecting my mother back from her trip so soon. I thought she would be back in a few day’s time. I guess she is back to her devious ways and not let me be.
I’m not excited she is home. I wish she wasn’t back from her trip.
I need some quiet right now. I don’t need her bossing me around like some controlling freak.
“I don’t care.” She walked closer to the staircase and folded her arms across her chest. “You are my son. So, tell me what’s going on. Who is putting you in a bad mood?”
I sighed and took a few steps forward. “How would you feel if I was dating Violet Stormclaw from the Silvermist Pack?”
“What!” She frowned as her eyes widened at me. “Violet Stormclaw?!”
“Yes, mom. You heard me for the first time.”
“My gosh!” She chuckled a little and furrowed her brows. “Why is everyone obsessed with that female alpha? Out of all the girls around, you saw Violet Stormclaw? Why her?”
“Why are you mad, though? I thought you would be happy. Your only son has fallen in love with a female alpha from one of the best homes and comes from one of the most powerful packs. A pack with great reputations.”
As a kid back then, my mom was obsessive about the Stormclaw families and about how she wanted me to get along with them so badly.
I finally got around them, and she hates them now.
“They are weird. I didn’t actually like them, though. I was just friends with them because of your father.” She rolled her eyes annoyingly and went on. “He was best friends with her father before we left each other.”
