Luna sighed softly. Adrian is the reference point used to describe and measure the irresponsibility and stupidity of men. But it’s not Adrian’s fault at all, the apple cannot fall far from its tree.
“Let’s not talk about him. He is happy and I am happy too. He has his family and now, I have my family now. My Mom is my family” Patrick replied.
She shouldn’t know that the person she is using to describe irresponsibility is actually the son of the man who got his mother pregnant.
Looks like being irresponsible runs in the genetic makeup of the Lester descendants. But thank goodness, he is not a part of them from his conception to that moment and he’s not interested in being one.
Aurora nodded. Patrick wants her to evade, talking about the man who fathered him. That’s alright. She was also not interested in letting Adrian get any connection with his daughter.
That night, they all talked, watched movies, and drank before going to bed. Patrick wished that they should remain like that forever.
That Aurora now lives in the same mansion with them. It would be perfect. His Mom would have a friend, a cherished one.
Next morning, a strange thing happened: Aurora woke up first to get a glimpse of the trending news online. She glanced at it hastily and stepped out of the bed, her heart beating very fast.
She came downstairs in a night dress and found Patrick pacing around. He seemed to be expecting a call. He turned when he heard footsteps and saw Aurora in a transparent dress.
He stared at her briefly and looked away. That was when she realised she stepped out in her nighties without the outer covering.
She stepped back, taking the stairs back to her room. It doesn’t seem to her as if her ankle was ever hurt. She was shivering, this was too much.
By the time she emerged again, she was dressed in jeans and a shirt. She saw Luna, her eyes spitting fury and anger. This is going to ruin her son’s reputation.
What about Aurora? She’s the daughter of an ex-president, a doctor. Who could have done this? Who hates Patrick and Aurora so much to do this?
“This is Adrian’s signature. I know it when I see it. He’s done this to get back at me” Aurora bellowed. She’d divorced him and now, he wants to ruin her so everyone would think despicable of her.
“No, not getting at you but at me. He wants to ruin me” Patrick scowled. This is too much. Adrian is cruel. Simply because he claimed to be with Aurora, he decides to get back at them.
But he would get back at him. He would hit him hard like a bullet and make him understand that he’s not an easy nut to crack. The likes of him were too feeble to crack his nuts.
Patrick had told his mother about the encounter he had with Adrian the previous evening. As it is, that was when Aurora knew about the confrontation.
Oh! That must be it. He thought she’s with Patrick and hence, decided to ruin her reputation this way? What nonsense! Can’t she be with whoever she likes, besides they’re divorced.
Adrian left home early. He wasn’t interested in waking up to see his dad’s face at the dinning. It was while driving to the company in his car that he saw the news.
Patrick knew that Adrian would be going off to the company and took his car to cross him. It was while he left that Luna took her car, and drove Aurora home to Clara.
Adrian saw Patrick’s car cross his car and stopped thereby forcing his chauffeur to park by the side of the road. He saw him step out in fury. He didn’t want to step out but rolled down the screen. He saw him approaching his car and next, he yanked the car open and gripped Adrian by his collar.
What a scene. Adrian held both of his hands and struggled to get free. “What is wrong with you, Patrick? Are you trying to humiliate me again?” He asked.
But the words had hardly left his lips when Patrick hit him hard on his face. Adrian was furious and hit him back, forcefully pulling his hands off his collar.
“You’re a fool, Adrian Lester. How dare you, to scandalise Aurora and I?” Another blow followed and this time, Adrian staggered.
“What’s the meaning of this Mr Connor!” The chauffeur asked and came over to rescue Adrian but Patrick yanked the man and threw him aside and he fell to the ground.
The fury in Patrick was such that Adrian had not witnessed it before. At this time, few people were already gathering. It was by the side of the road and a scene was created.
“Don’t get violent with my employees. What are you accusing me of, Patrick? You chose to get entangled with my ex wife…” Adrian was saying when Patrick pulled him by the collar again.
“Liar, you son of a scheming woman. You are like that wrecker that gave birth to you. But I’m not my mother, I won’t go easy on you on this. I will get back at you in a hard way” Patrick seethed and went off, going back to his car.
Adrian’s face was battered. Patrick had hit him hard and he decided to return home. But remembering that his dad was home, decided to get to the hotel, take care of himself and return to the company.
Patrick now attacks him fiercely. What the heck! It has come to this that he now attacks him like a giant, ready to crush the prey?
Meanwhile, Luna called the Lester mansion, after dropping Aurora off, she called Richard. When the latter answered his phone Luna was furious.
“Richard, do something for the trending news. I don’t care who caused it, just do something about it. If Adrian has issues with his ex wife, Patrick shouldn’t be dragged into it…” Luna told him everything.
Richard said okay and hung up. Now, both of his sons are against each other. He called his assistant to find out what happened between his sons, did Adrian really confront Patrick?
Few minutes later, Adrian returned to the Lester conglomerate. The news was trending and the caption was “Partners but lovers”
There were pictures of Aurora and Patrick, holding hands, Patrick’s hand on her waist and they captioned it that they kissed and made love in the car.
Patrick remembered, the moment he tried to strap her seat belt, they were snapped. They didn’t know, they had no clue, nothing whatsoever.
Aurora’s identity was traced to X-city and the news blew up from there as well. Now, she’s caught in the web that Adrian had created.
Her parents had called her and all she could say was Adrian. Jimmy was mad. He knew it, that asshole was a chameleon. Was he defaming Aurora because she refused to back out from her request for a divorce.
That was when Aurora opened up and told them that they’re divorced officially. “That’s it, he couldn’t be man enough and decided to drag your reputation and self esteem to the mire” Jimmy insinuated.
The Blake family requested that Adrian make a public apology and bring down the post. But the more they tried to bring it down, the more it popped up.
“Let’s give Adrian the benefit of the past. He didn’t have Aurora arrested by the police when she shot him. I don’t know why he did this to her, but let’s forget about it, we’ll delete the news from all social media” Santiago suggested.
“It is better that he arrested her back then than defaming her. I will not accept your suggestions and as it is now, don’t interfere if you know you’ll make your family member a foot mat for that boy surnamed Lester” Jimmy bellowed
Only a powerful person like Adrian can conveniently do this. Aurora couldn’t take it anymore, she got out and drove to the Lester conglomerate.
As she got there, she requested to see Adrian Lester. His bodyguards said no. After what Patrick her lover had done to Adrian, she was coming so furiously and expected them to let her into his office?
Aurora screamed “Adrian Lester, step out here. If you’re man enough and capable of being responsible for your actions, step out, son of a bitch…”
The bodyguards held her, leading her away from the door to Adrian’s office when the latter was fighting frantically. Suddenly, the door opened and Adrian stepped out.
Seeing Adrian, Aurora pulled herself off their grip and came closer, slapping Adrian across the face. She did it again and the third time he grabbed her by the wrist.
