Patrick was annoyed. He was displeased with Aurora. She shot Adrian and dared to call him, telling him she did that?
No matter what happens, he can never give Adrian up for anything in this life. He loves Adrian despite his cold heartedness and arrogance, they still get along with each other in spite of the little things that make them frown at each other.
“No, Patrick. It was an accident. I didn’t mean it. It just happened and he was operated upon. Against the doctor’s advice he returned to New Jersey and Clem said he is in a serious condition now…” Aurora was still saying when Patrick interrupted her.
“I’ll talk to you later” he hung up and called Adrian. Contrary to his expectations, his friend answered his phone and he asked “Where are you?”
“In the Lester mansion” Adrian replied and Patrick hung up. He got ready and headed towards the Lester mansion. He didn’t know that Adrian was in such a delicate condition and he’s not by his side.
When he arrived at the Lester mansion, it was almost time for dinner. As he got into the sitting room, that was when he remembered his worries.
He’ll definitely meet with Richard Lester. He wished he could get past everyone else and just see Adrian. The servants welcomed him and offered him a seat but he refused it.
“Thanks. I’m here to see Adrian” He requested and the servant said he would confirm from the young master if he could go in. But Richard sighted him from the top of the stairs and he immediately came down.
“Patrick” Richard called, dressed in simple house wear. His tone was filled with affection and Patrick wondered why he never took notice of his tone when he called his name in the past.
As Richard approached him, he looked away and mumbled “Hello Uncle” he couldn’t look at the man in his face. How can he turn out to be his father?
Uncle? One day he hopes to get that privilege of being called a father by his eldest son. Patrick is a few months older than Adrian, it’s almost a seven month difference.
“He’s here to see young master” the servant informed and was going towards the stairs when Richard said “You can go in, your brother is badly wounded”
Patrick went in the direction of Adrian’s Large bedroom. He’d been so used to him in the past that there was practically nothing about him that he didn’t know.
When he got in, he saw Adrian trying to raise himself. He went over and helped him “I’m pressed, help me to the restroom” he requested.
Seeing Adrian in such a weak state, sends chills down Patrick’s spine. This is not the Adrian he used to know. The one that his presence emits aura and everyone knows the young master of the Lester family was around.
How can Aurora do this to him? She said it’s by accident. Why did the accident come in Adrian’s direction? Why not to someone else?
“My body hurts me badly” Adrian complained, being supported by Patrick to the restroom. He wanted to try it out himself. He desperately wishes for a quick recovery. He wants to get his health back.
“Why didn’t you request for a catheter?” Patrick asked. At least that would relieve him from the stress of getting up with the pain and going to empty his bowels.
“Like seriously, I should let that thing touch my dick? No way. If I don’t fuck with it, doesn’t mean I shouldn’t pee with it as well” Adrian refuted sharply.
The dick must get engaged in some activities. He knows that Patrick was just being concerned about him because of the pain he was feeling but no way would he accept that suggestion.
“If it will get you healed faster, reducing the pain and the stress you’re putting yourself through, I would suggest it. We both haven’t had a fuck in a long time, so don’t go there” Patrick chipped in, waiting by the side for him.
Adrian tried to chuckle but the sharp piercing pain coming from his injury made me close his eyes and only tried to smile.
But Patrick was alternating his attention between Adrian and the thought crossing his mind. How will he feel when he realises that they are siblings?
“Pat, wouldn’t you ask me what happened?” He demanded, pulling his zipper up and turning himself gently to face Patrick again. How will he feel if he gets to know that his friend shot him, though accidentally?
“I think what you should ask is why I came running to see you this late” Patrick replied, supporting him back to the bed. Adrian squinted, it means Aurora had called him.
“Your friend and partner told you what she did to me, right?” Adrian asked, the excitement of seeing Patrick gradually vanished away.
” Yes, she called me” Patrick replied and said nothing else. He referred to Aurora as his friend and partner. It means a part of him still felt betrayed and unhappy.
After a while, Adrian asked “Do you really love me, Patrick?” He was quiet. He had no reason to doubt his love and loyalty to him in the past. In fact, he could vouch for him, Patrick could give his head to be chopped off to protect him and his interest.
But after Ava came in, things fell apart between them. They were separated for years and those periods of separation shifted his focus from him and as well, possibly his love for him.
“Of course I love you. I’ve never loved anyone in the past as much as I loved you. And I want you to know this, whatever happens in the future, you should know that I love you.
I’ll never mean you any harm. I’ll only seek your interest alone. So no matter what, don’t ever doubt my love for you” Patrick replied.
His words come from the worries in his heart. That’s why he said in the future. If he gets to realise that his dad might actually be his own father, the one he had always hoped to meet someday, how will he feel?
“You’re talking about the future when you already leave me with doubts and many unanswered questions. You knew that she was alive, you didn’t tell me.
I offered to help you but you rejected my generous offer and built a niche with her. I know I was wrong to have fired you, but was I also wrong to try to extend a hand of support to you?
How can I trust you again, Patrick? We’ve been friends from childhood. Our bond was strong. Why did you do it, why did you treat me that way? Don’t I mean anything to you anymore?” Adrian demanded.
“When I refused your offer to help me, I hadn’t met her. I didn’t tell you immediately I encountered her, she doesn’t want you to know. I’m really confused now, bashing me from this end, while trying to be neutral.
Don’t let that incident make you doubt me in any way. I loved you back then and now, after what I know, I love you more. You’re the brother I never knew I had. I’ll never hurt you or betray you. No matter what happens, never question my loyalty to you, Adrian Lester” Patrick concluded
In X-city, Elsie Blake was sick. She’d been having a series of fever after what she saw a few days back. Blood covered uncle Adrian.
“Mummy” Elsie called, shifting her gaze on her mom gently. Aurora forced a smile. She doesn’t know if she’s the most affected by Adrian’s health condition or not.
“Is uncle Adrian dead?” Elsie asked.
