She took the baby away and left him in an orphanage, somewhere really far away that his parents would never be able to trace him. She was already pregnant at the time.
She couldn’t hurt an innocent baby. She was afraid the baby in her belly would be hurt too. Besides, he was Richard’s baby after all.
When she left him at the orphanage, she never went back to find him again. She shut her mind off him and concentrated on nursing her pregnancy to maturity and she had lived without the thought of that baby all these years.
“You want me to believe you? If you could hurt his mother’s life so much, you expect me to gulp down your lies?” Richard scowled.
“I didn’t mean to hurt Luna. I swear, it got out of hand and my mischievous acts went in coaches just to cover up the tracks. But the baby, I didn’t hurt him. I was expecting Adrian at the time, I swear on the life of my son, that I didn’t hurt your son with Luna” Anna pleaded, clasping her hands together.
“Where did you take him to?” Richard asked. Where is he? They could start from there. He wants to know where he could find him, they could trace him from there.
“I’ll be giving you every detail of where I took him back then. But after I turned my back there that day, I didn’t know anything about him again” Anna confessed.
The game was up. The end of her plotting is over. She’s waiting for the police, Richard would definitely invite the police to get her.
She started sobbing. No matter how fast the speed and frequency of lies, deception and evil goes, in one single day, the truth will overtake it.
And many years of lies, just that day, the truth has been known. She hopes that Richard finds his son wherever he might be at that moment.
May he not find him mediocre. Richard would hate her if he finds his son to be in a state he never would be proud of. She wrote the information for him and handed it over to him.
“You knew I loved her. So she suffered so much because she loved me? The only sin she ever committed was loving me and my everlasting regret was why I got involved with you in friendship.
You’re my greatest mistake. I know you are mean. I saw it in the way you treated your own daughter in-law. Because you knew you were a hypocrite all your life, you thought she was like you, hence you were brutal to her.
We will get divorced. Even if you have just one day left to live, you won’t die as my wife. I hate you. I didn’t expect you to go to this extent in murdering someone and letting someone else bear the brunt of it for twenty seven years.
Just how much evil is in you? The Police will come after you. But before that, we’ll have to stay separated forever. If I can’t trace my son, I will return to do something no one would ever expect from me…” Richard bellowed.
For the next two days, a lot happened. Richard didn’t return to the house. He had his men find out every detail about the child. Even Luna, he wasn’t talking to her.
Only Rodgers was giving her information as they progressed. Now, he works in close contact with Richard and his men. They made the work easier and way faster for him.
Luna also wasn’t interested in talking to him though. Besides their son, what else does she probably have to discuss with him about. Once their son is found, it ends there.
In X-city, Adrian Lester’s recovery was fast. As predicted by the doctors, he begins to show signs of consciousness. His pupils moved, his fingers shook and by the evening of that day, he opened his eyes wearily.
Everywhere was blank. He couldn’t see anything. It’s paper white and he remained calm. His brain was blank as well, he wasn’t sure of anything.
He felt like he dozed off again. When he opened them again, he saw blurred images of people standing by. They weren’t clear but at least he saw images.
“Adrian, you’re fully awake now?” It was the excited voice of Santiago. He didn’t respond but gradually his senses returned and in a few minutes, he knew everything that had happened.
He was shot. Aurora shot him. But how did he make it out alive? Now he could see clearly. The doctors were checking his vital signs and soon, one of the nurses approached him and took the oxygen mask away.
He tried to get up, but a sharp piercing pain forced him to lay back. Then he remembered the spot where the bullets had pierced him.
“No, you can’t sit up yet. You’ve just regained consciousness but far from full recovery” one of the doctors instructed.
Santiago stood by his bedside and took his hand “Buddy, I’m the happiest to have you back” he chimed. Now, he’s at ease. Adrian shouldn’t be in any form of danger anymore.
As soon as the doctors stepped out, Adrian’s first utterance was “Where’s my phone?” He needs to make an important call.
Santiago Blake was stunned. Is that the only thing Adrian can blurt out after recovery? Is he unhappy with him? Anyways, he fetched it out of his pocket and handed it to him.
Still laying down, Adrian checked through, it was switched off. He put it on and several messages flooded in. Ignoring all, he called Clem.
“We’ve been worried about you CEO Adrian…” Clem was saying. For days, they couldn’t reach Adrian and he’s not responding to his emails, it’s very unlike him.
“Get the helicopter here tonight” Adrian instructed and hung up. It’s enough for Clem to understand what he meant. He placed the phone by his side and sighed softly.
That same night in New Jersey, Richard got the answer he’d been searching for. As he took the envelope to see the content of the report and possibly the picture that was attached, a photo dropped out first and he picked it up, turned it around to see who he was.
