Chapter 32
“What is this meeting about?” Princess asked as she sat on the dock beside him.
He had sent a message to her as early as he could so they could meet and talk.
Ava was not doing anything about the pregnancy, and he would rather find another way around things than let her keep that child.
“We need to talk,” Alpha Jude said, turning to glance at her.
“I thought we already spoke about everything,” Princess asked, taking a seat beside him and turning a questioning look at him.
“Yes, I thought so too.” Alpha Jude said, sighing exasperatedly, “But there has been a new development and all the other plans have to be changed to match the new situation.”
Princess could tell from the look in his eyes that whatever development it was that he was talking about was huge
He seemed mildly terrified, almost helpless, and she was mortified for him. She had never seen him this way, although there had not been much contact between them.
In the short while she had made acquaintances with him, he had only ever given off the energy of a know-it-all.
“What is the new development?” She asked curiously.
“Ava,” Alpha Jude said, his voice calm and solemn, he paused dramatically inhaling and staring into the lake.
“What about her?” princess asked impatiently
“She is with child, Ava is pregnant and undoubtedly for alpha Damon.” He said, turning to look at the princess’s shocked expression.
She was silent for a while, but her wide mouth and eyes gave him all the answers he needed. She was just as shocked as he was when he found out, which only meant she had no idea either.
“And I asked her to get rid of it, but we both know Ava, don’t we? She is as stubborn as a persistent headache” Alpha Jude said with a small chuckle.
“I would not even imagine that she will.” Princess said, “I would not, I am a woman like her and I can only imagine that.”
“I know, it’s the reason I stopped persisting.” alpha Jude said
“Does Alpha Damon have any knowledge of this?” Princess asked, she hoped he did not.
“I do not have any idea of that yet, but I would like to suppose that he does not. He would have been here to claim it or something. I mean, I would” he said gesturing to himself.
“What should we do?” Princess asked, it seemed impossible to think of anything in that she had come to the knowledge of Ava’s condition.
Everything she could think of would harm either her or the child, and she did not want that. As much as she wanted alpha Damon to herself, she would do nothing to harm Ava or the child.
“I have an idea” Alpha Jude suddenly, drawing her attention back to himself.
“What is it?” Princess asked.
“She goes for her hunts every fortnight, and she would soon go for the next one, all we have to do is set her up, and we will know what to do from there.” He said.
“Set her up with someone?” Princess asked, “Is that necessary”.
“I thought we needed alpha Damon to lose interest in her?” He asked, looking at her.
“Yes but…” Princess stopped herself when she reasoned it.
“No buts’ princess.” Alpha Jude said, “It is our best option and most likely the only one.”
“Okay, fine.” Princess said, “What do I do? What’s my role in all this?” She asked.
“I will give you the details later.” Alpha Jude says getting up to leave.
“Okay,” Princess said, following suit.
Trudging back home, alpha Jude went over the plan in his mind. He would have to find someone to be the stranger who would help him.
And then find something to make her pass out, he knew what he would use, but he had to find a way to spike her drink or food without being suspicious.
He could easily send one of the maids, but he feared their incompetence, whatever was to be done had to be done accurately.
Walking into the house, he headed straight for his study, he had to finish some work and be ready for the plan, as ready as he could be.
No mistakes were to be made, and everything had to be done appropriately and well.
Walking out of his study, he came face to face with a tired-looking Ava, who had just gotten back from work.
“Ava” he called out to her, she looked too tired, but he had just one piece of information he had to be sure of before he concluded his plans.
“What do you want alpha Jude, as you can see, I am more than exhausted.” She said pointing out the obvious.
“I just wanted to have a word with you.” Alpha Jude said calmly, he had to be soft and welcoming if he wanted Ava to talk to him.
She might be tired, but If he kept his voice down and spoke softly to him, she would most certainly give him a chance to speak and hear him out.
“Why?” She asked looking at him weirdly, he could not read the expression on her face, but he hoped she would listen to him.
“This way? You should sit” he said gesturing to his study.
Ava paused to look at him, there was something suspicious about how nice he was being, and it kept her on edge.
“What do you want to talk about, I am so tired, need to rest,” Ava said as she walked into the study with him leading the way.
“It is about the pregnancy.” Alpha Jude said just as she sat, making Ava stand back up, already on her way out.
“I am not asking you to terminate it anymore, Ava.” Alpha, Jude said, making her stop in her tracks and walk back to her seat.
“Okay, what about it?” She asked, “And do not Inquire whose child it is, I will not tell you.” She, Sani raised a finger to stop him as his mouth opened to talk.
“Now Ava, I just wanted to know how you are faring?” He said.
“Just okay, quite an experience if you ask me,” Ava said, a little happy she had someone to chat with.
She had a lot to unload, but she did not have anyone to talk to about it.
“And uhm, does alpha Damon know about it yet?” Alpha Jude asked, much to Ava’s surprise, she had not told anyone about it or who the father was, so hearing that question was a shock to her.
“What?” She asked again.
“Does alpha Damon know yet? What is he saying? Does that mean you are going back to West Wood? he asks all at once, not giving her the chance to answer any.
“No, I have not told him about it yet. How did you know?” Ava asked, her voice laced with surprise.
“It was and still is obvious, Ava, I just pieced two and two together and got my answers.” Alpha Jude said.
“On wow,” Ava said surprised still, she had no idea it was that obvious, all along she had thought they were discreet enough.
“So, what are you planning?” Alpha Jude asked again.
“No idea,” Ava said, she was still in shock that alpha Jude had figured out all this in no time, what if Princess knew too, she would kill her, Ava thought.
“Penny for your thought.” Alpha Jude said, bringing her out of her train of thought.
“How did you find out, about alpha Damon being the father of my child?” She asked curiously.
“It was there In my face Ava, he came from West Wood for a contract and asked for you Ava, of all the other people who could have worked with and for him, he chose you.” Alpha Jude said.
“And then, he started working his way to your heart, it was pretty obvious, that one, I am a man to remember.” He continued.
“I saw the way he stared, he admired you even from a distance, anyone would have seen the adoration in his eyes when he looked at you, Ava.”
“It is why the princess is furious with you, she knows he would never, ever look at her like that. Like how he looks at you.”
“And I still want you Ava, but I also see the way you look at him, you have never looked at me that way either, but it’s fine.” Alpha Jude said.
“I have to go now,” Ava said, getting up from her ear and heading to the door.
“You have not denied anything I just said, Ava.” Alpha Jude pointed out.
Ava turned to look at him long and hard, she was short of words, having never openly admitted to her feelings for Alpha Damon, she could not let Alpha Jude be the first to hear it from her.
“Good night, alpha, Jude.” She whispered slowly as she walked out of the study.
