Chapter 21
Princess woke up with mixed feelings. Happy because she finally got to follow Damon to the office and know Ava, and unhappy because Damon had won her the night before at the game arcade, and she had lost her car to him.
She had to wake up earlier to meet with Damon to go to the office.
She quickly brushed her teeth and headed down to the kitchen to make breakfast for both of them. Surprisingly, she found him already in the kitchen counter, waiting for his cook to finish cooking.
He ordered her to prepare pancakes, not just any pancakes but her favorite banana pancakes with nuts and honey.
“Good morning, Pri,” he greeted her, calling her the pet name he gave her when they were much younger.
She felt her cheek warm up, it had been long since she heard that name from his lips.
That was the only three lettered name she wanted to hear from his lips.
She went closer to sit at the kitchen counter, as she looked at him with a huge grin.
“Good morning.” She replied, her gleaming as his cook served both of them.
“Hope you had a goodnight.” He inquired as he started to dig into the food.
“It was alright. I had a nightmare that you beat me at the arcade.” She replied chuckling. She requested that the cook brought them some orange juice.
“Oh dear, it really happened and this is your compensatory breakfast” he smugly said, his eyes gleaming with pleasure. The pleasure of rubbing in the fact that he had finally won her.
She sat quietly, munching on her food. She would rather not ruin her mood just yet.
At least she was getting one thing she had been wanting for a while, so it softened the blow of her loosing her car, even though she had other plans to get it back.
She didn’t want to think about that. All that was in her mind was how divine her pancakes were. It was like the cook had stolen her mom’s recipe but improved it somehow.
She’d even asked if she could get a second plate, but Damon reminded her that if she did, she wouldn’t be able to follow him to the office that day.
She had refused to acknowledge the strange scent on him when she hugged him.
It made her want to puke. It was cinnamon and a touch of clove, which wasn’t his normal scent.
Of course, she knew, she had taken note so many times, when she was having rough days that was what she thought about, and it calmed her.
She didn’t want to go with what her mind was telling her. But even if that was Ava’s scent, why was it so much on him. It was ok for him to have a bit of her scent, but what hit her yesterday was a lot.
It fueled her anger towards her more.
She was going to make sure that after that day, Ava made sure to know her boundaries.
She thanked Damon for the meal and went upstairs quickly to prepare for the office.
She took a hot bath, and chose to wear a black office suit.
The pants were a bit tight on her hips, accentuating her shape even more.
She wore a bit revealing lingerie top and wore her suit on top.
Pairing the outfit with silver stilettos.
Curling her hair, she put on some light make up and took her black bag as she went back down to meet Damon.
She was informed that he was already waiting in the car and walked straight to meet him.
She greeted him with a frown, not happy that he didn’t wait for her, but let it go as she figured that was how he was, always work invested.
The driver dropped them at the front of the office before going to park the car at the office garage.
Normally, he drove himself, but he had his driver take them because Princess was coming with him.
She was to stay at his office mostly and follow him for anything.
The knock at the door jolted her out of her thoughts, the scent of cinnamon became stronger as a female walked into the office.
“Good morning Ava.” He heard Damon greet her firmly.
So that was her. The famous Ava that clouded Damon’s head every day.
She cleared her throat as she walked to stand beside Damon.
Damon rolled his eyes as he introduced them both.
“Ava, this is Princess, she’ll be around for a while. Princess, this is Ava from Mist wood.” He said, briefly introducing them.
Princess looked at her with a disgusted face, finally matching the face to the name.
Ava became uncomfortable by her presence, something was off setting about her, but she couldn’t quite place her head around it.
Maybe it was her body language and how she acted possessive around Damon.
Or it was how Damon acted nonchalant to whatever she did.
She resolved that possibly Damon was tired of chasing her.
She informed Damon of the meetings they had and the progress they were making with the project.
She briefly told him and found her way back to her office.
After about an hour of working in her office, she heard a knock on her door.
Before she could answer, the door was already opened and Princess walked in.
She took a look around her office before finally taking a glance at Ava.
Princess eyed her before sitting down opposite her, still looking at her with disdain.
Ava put down her pen, paused what she was doing, and shifted her focus on Princess.
“So you think you’re the boss lady around here, huh? I’m sorry to break it to you, sweetie, but you’re nothing, not to him and not around here.” She sneered at her in a hateful tone.
Ava took a long look at her before standing up to reply to her.
“I don’t know who you are or what you think you are, but you’re going to get the hell out of my office at this moment.” Ava, fuming with anger, pointed her to the door.
Princess chuckled, slowly clapping her hands as she stood up to face Ava.
“Well, make me.” She smirked at her, waiting to see her next move
.
“First of all, I’m not concerned about this place or a man you’re so desperately trying to get to notice you. And secondly, you have no right to barge into my office and say whatever you want. So I’ll ask, for the last time, get out of my office.” Ava stated firmly, already fuming with anger, ready to pounce on Princess.
Damon walked into the office at that moment and quickly read about the room.
He beckoned on Princess to follow him, as he had something important to discuss with her.
She took a final long look at Ava, took her pen box and scattered it over her table.
“You don’t belong here, sweetheart.” She said finally as she walked out of the office, not acknowledging Damon’s presence.
Damon tried to talk to her as he followed behind her, but she wasn’t listening to him at all.
She finally walked out of the office like she was deaf to all Damon was saying.
Damon let out a frustrated breath, as he walked over to Ava’s office. He met her arranging her desk because of the mess Princess had created.
“I’m so sorry about her. She can be like that sometimes.” Damon said apologetically.
He still had the guilt of what he did to her hanging over his head, and he would rather not add anymore.
With the fact that he really cared about her and wanted to make her his, he had to apologize for everything.
At first, she didn’t answer him, but he made it clear he was the boss, and she had to answer him.
“I’m fine, everything is fine. Don’t worry about it.” She finally let out, in a bid to let him off her back.
He walked over to her, knelt down, and cupped her face in his hands. He stroked her cheeks, and he felt all the pent-up anger she was trying to keep inside her.
He leaned forward to kiss her, but she shifted her face.
She didn’t feel like dealing with me after what had happened.
He stared into her eyes, held her hands and kissed them, leaving her to her privacy.
He allowed her to take the rest of the day off if she wanted to, but she assured him that she was fine, after all she had a lot of work to do and the sooner she finished her business with him, the sooner she wouldn’t have to deal with any more drama.
She couldn’t help but wonder who Princess thought she was to act that way to her, but she knew she would definitely not get off her back easily.
Damon, on the other hand, was furious with Princess.
He had no idea where she went, but he knew that she would face his wrath.
