Chapter 19
Inhaling the nostalgic air of home, everything looked the same yet very different, she had a familiar feeling which in a way still felt unfamiliar.
The giant doors opened, and she walked in, maids bowed as she walked in, she could still remember running around in this same mansion as a young girl teenager.
She had left for so long, but she was finally back, and back to stay she was.
“Princess.” Alpha Damon called from upstairs. A happy and welcoming look on his face as he stared down at his childhood friend.
“Damon” the princess called, her eyes following him as he descended the stairs. “Or alpha Damon should I say.” She added with a light chuckle.
“You have grown to do much,” Alpha Damon said as she stood on level ground a few feet away from her
“Coming from you?” she asked, sizing him up from head to toe, “you look like you have a bit aged a day, yet you look so old.” She said, squinting her eyes as she analyzed him.
“Oh please.” Alpha Damon whines, rolling his eyes as at her, as he walks closer with outstretched arms.
“Welcome home.” Alpha Damon whispered into her ears as he tore away from her embrace.
“Thank you,” she said with a wide smile.
” The maids will show you to your room, in case you have forgotten.” Alpha Damon added jokingly.
“I went to the human world, Damon, I did not lose my memory.” The Princess said with a laugh as she climbed the flight of stairs to her room.
Princess looked around the already-made and prepared room, closing the door behind her, she walked to the bed and plopped down.
It looked the same, only that they had made a major few changes here and there, but it was nothing she could not live with.
Her wolf leaped happily in her, it was good to be home among her people and her kind.
She was back to stay, and for her to stay she was here to claim what was hers, Damon’s heart. It was why she had come straight to Westwood pack instead of Varun pack.
She was in love with him, had always been, it was why she had wormed her way into his life many years ago.
Stayed by him and with each passing day she had grown fonder, and eventually, they had been good friends.
Best friends, that’s what they were before she had left, and she was back to take it up from where they had left off.
“How are you settling in?” Alpha Damon asked from the doorway where he stood peeking in.
“Just okay.” The Princess muttered.
“Dinner is set, I ordered a little feast in your honor.” Alpha Damon said with a small smile, “Be down in twenty.” He told her and turned to leave.
The Princess sighed as she stood up to get ready for dinner, she knew how alpha Damon could be so extra when it came to her.
He always did things like this, always used to make a big deal of her birthdays and literally anything that had to do with her.
The aroma of exotic delicacies filled her nostrils as she walked down the stairs. She was dressed in a black ankle-length dress and heels.
She was not ready to do too much, at least not yet.
“There she is.” Alpha Damon drawled when his eyes landed on her. “Come on” he gestures to the seat opposite his.
“Thank you.” She said, taking her seat and looking at the massive display of food on the table.
“Dig in, enjoy your meal.” He said as he lifted a fork to eat.
“So, how has it been? Without me here.” Princess asked as she started to eat.
“Well, just okay. It was boring at first because you had no one to display all those mischiefs with.” Alpha Damon said with a laugh.
“Oh, I remember those days.” Princess said, “They were so much fun.” She added
“Then it was fun, but we really did hurt some people. So now that I think about it, we were basically just a nuisance then” Alpha Damon said seriously.
Princess paused to look at him, he was supposed to take that as a joke not lecture her on whether what that did many years ago was good or bad.
She could tell Thai would go south if they persisted with the topic so she quickly changed the subject.
“And work, how is that?” She asked
“Oh, very well.” He said with a very big smile that made the princess only want to know more
“Really? Tell me more ” she said paying close attention to him.
“We got a new partner, the Mistwood pack and u have been working with their representative, Ava Smith.” He said enthusiastically.
Alpha Damon did not love work or anything that brought stress so his talking about work so enthusiastically made her want to know what exactly was behind it.
“Ava Smith.” Princess said as tasting the bam won her tongue. ” never heard of her”.
“Oh yeah, she is not that popular but she is good at what she does, ” he said with a wide smile.
“Hmm.” Princess hummed in thought
“And beautiful too, very very beautiful.” He added
“Okay, that is too much to describe a work partner,” Princess said with raised brows.
Alpha Damon had never spoken about a girl like that in all the years she had known him, he was always all about her. He wondered what had changed and who this Ava girl was
She seemed to have captivated him a lot from the way he spoke about her she could tell.
“Well, it is the only right way to put it, the project would have not gone as far as it had if she was more on it trust me.” Alpha Damon gushed subconsciously.
“She has so many brilliant ideas and is enthusiastic to learn a new thing.” He added
Princess sighed as he spoke, well she had caused this by changing the subject to work. Had she known She would have stuck to the awkward talk about their teenage days.
“The food is so good.” She said changing the subject yet again when she could not stand his constant tapping about this Ava girl.
“Yes, it is.” Alpha Damon agreed and they were in silence for a bit.
“How is Will?” She asked when she remembered him.
“Oh well is good, if it was not so late you probably would have seen him, he is here even more often than myself,” he said with a mouthful.
“Nice, I kinda miss pissing him off, he always hated my guts.” She added with a laugh as the memories flooded in.
“Yes, I remember that.” He said with a laugh that matched hers.
“I should get back to the room, I am very tired,” Princess said as she excused herself from the table and walked back upstairs to her room.
She walked into her room, slamming the door a little harder than she should have, she could not help herself.
He used to care about only her, she used to be the center of his entire world, and yes she had expected it to stay the same way when she got back but apparently something had changed.
Why did he speak about her with so much interest and enthusiasm? He even had a huge ass smile plastered on that handsome face of his.
Who was this girl?
Was she as pretty as he described her to be?
What did she possess that might have captivated him so much?
All these questions and more flooded her mind as she got ready for bed. The only way to find out more about her is to for these so-called meetings with him.
But first, she had to find an excuse to, alpha Damon would not just let her go to these things with him without a logical reason why.
Sitting back down on her bed, she racked her brain for a reason, something that would make alpha Damon take her alongside him.
After a few minutes of thinking, her eyes lit happily as an idea popped in her head.
She knew exactly what to do and how to go about it, she had the perfect reason that he would not reject.
With a smile she laid back down in bed, throwing the soft cover on her body and closing her eyes to sleep, she would need enough rest and sleep for this just Incase she don’t like how it turns out eventually she thought as she closed her eyes.
