Chapter 2397: How Long Will You Keep Pretending

“Kid, this has nothing to do with you. You better stay out of it!”
The man glanced at Billy and reached out to grab the woman’s wrist.
Before his hand could reach her, his body was sent flying, crashing into a table behind him and falling to the ground, wailing in pain.
“Kid, you’re courting death!”
Apart from Luke Gould and the old man in the blue robe behind him, the other four men rushed forward simultaneously.
After a few muffled thuds, the four men were also writhing on the ground, crying out in pain.
“Impressive!” Luke Gould’s eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at Billy. “Daring to meddle in my affairs, do you know who I am?”
“Girl, take everything out of your storage ring and show them!” Billy ignored Luke and turned to the woman in plain clothes.
“Sir, I really didn’t steal from them…” the woman responded.
“Didn’t you hear me?” Billy interrupted her. “Give me your storage ring!”
“Alright…” The woman handed over the storage ring after speaking.
Billy used his spiritual power to forcibly remove the ownership of the storage ring and placed it and its contents on the table.
There were few items: some spirit stones, Spirit Fruit, and miscellaneous personal belongings.
“Which of these items is yours?” Billy asked Luke Gould.
“Where did you hide the items?” Luke Gould checked the contents of the storage ring with his spiritual power and asked.
“Where could I hide them? I only have this one storage ring…” the woman responded.
“Very well!” Luke Gould replied coldly. “I gave you the chance, but you didn’t seize it. You’ll regret it.”
He then turned to Billy. “Let’s settle our score first. You’ve injured my men. How do you plan to make amends?”
“How do you want me to make amends?” Billy asked in return.
“Cut off one of your arms and crawl out of here alive!” Luke Gould responded.
“And if I don’t?” Billy pressed.
“Death!” Luke Gould declared.
“Then go ahead and try!” Billy said calmly.
“Fine!” Luke Gould’s tone darkened. “Elder Irvin, kill him!”
As soon as he finished speaking, the old man in the blue robe attacked, sending a powerful mark hurtling towards Billy.
Unable to gauge Billy’s cultivation level, he assumed it was concealed and didn’t take Billy seriously.
He struck without holding back, clearly intending to kill Billy.
His cultivation was mediocre, at the sixth-rank Supreme Source Realm.
In the next moment, a loud crash was heard as a figure was sent flying through a wall, leaving a gaping hole. The body and soul perished simultaneously.
Witnessing this scene, the onlookers gasped in amazement. No one expected Billy to possess such skill.
A mid-stage Supreme Source Realm cultivator had been killed in one move by Billy?!
“Sir, you’re amazing!” The woman in plain clothes exclaimed with a look of surprise.
“You actually killed Elder Irvin?” Luke Gould looked at Billy after recovering from his shock. “You really have guts…”
“Get lost!” Billy interrupted him sternly.
“Very well!” A cold gleam flashed in Luke Gould’s eyes. “I guarantee you won’t live to see tomorrow!”
He then turned and left, followed closely by his men who had struggled to their feet.
“Sir, you should leave quickly!” The waiter from earlier spoke to Billy after they had left.
“The man just now is the son of Bloodforged Gate’s Grand Elder. They brought many people this time; they won’t let this go easily!”
“What is Bloodforged Gate?” Billy asked.
“You’ve never heard of Bloodforged Gate?” The waiter asked in return.
“No,” Billy shook his head.
The waiter was speechless…
No wonder he dared to kill their people; he had never even heard of them!
But if you’re unfamiliar with them, shouldn’t you learn more before taking action?
“Bloodforged Gate is a top-tier force. Although their overall strength isn’t as great as Celestial Pavilion, they are at least in the top twenty.” The waiter explained.
“It’s said that their Grand Elder is at mid-stage Condensed Kun Realm. Since you killed their sect member, he’ll definitely come for you.”
“Got it, thanks!” Billy smiled faintly and pointed at the spirit stones on the table. “These spirit stones are compensation for the restaurant!”
He then stood up and walked towards the door.
“Sir, wait for me!” The woman in plain clothes picked up the storage ring and chased after him.
“Sir, I’m sorry. Did I cause you trouble?” She asked as she caught up with him outside.
“Why are you still following me? Bloodforged Gate’s people will likely come soon. Shouldn’t you run?” Billy continued walking forward.
As he spoke, he glanced at a nearby alley where a man with a shifty look was watching them. It was one of the men from the teahouse earlier.
“I don’t know where to run alone!” The woman responded.
“What about your family?” Billy asked next.
“I’ve been an orphan since childhood; I have no family…” she replied again.
“How long do you plan to keep pretending?” Billy asked as they turned into a less crowded street.
“Wha… what do you mean?” The woman was taken aback.
“You don’t know what I mean?” Billy fixed his gaze on her. “If you don’t start being honest, I’ll strip you naked and throw you onto the street.”
“Sir, why are you bullying me like Bloodforged Gate’s people…” she said with a look of grievance, tears welling up in her eyes.
“Who taught you martial arts?” Billy interrupted her.
“I… I worked as a servant at Celestial Pavilion and secretly learned a bit from some disciples…” she responded.
“How old are you?” Billy interrupted again.
“Sixteen,” she replied.
“Sixteen years old, secretly learning a bit from Celestial Pavilion’s disciples, yet having first-rank Supreme Source Realm cultivation-you’re quite a prodigy!” Billy sneered coldly.
“Sir, you must be mistaken. I’m only at Breaking Emptiness Realm at best; how could I be first-rank Supreme Source Realm?” She was stunned for a moment before speaking.
“If I had such skills, I would have run far away instead of being caught by Bloodforged Gate.”
“You should ask yourself that!” Billy glanced at her again.
He had already checked her cultivation level when he first saw her.
She appeared to be at late-stage Breaking Emptiness Realm but was actually at first-rank Supreme Source Realm!
Although she used some mystic art to conceal her cultivation, whether due to flaws in the art or other reasons, Billy could easily see through it.
At fifteen or sixteen years old with first-rank Supreme Source Realm cultivation-she was no ordinary person!
“You must be mistaken; I’m really just at Breaking Emptiness Realm…” she continued to insist.
“The lowest cultivation among those Bloodforged Gate men was mid-stage Returning Source Realm. That so-called Grand Elder’s son was third-rank Supreme Source Realm!” Billy responded.
“If you’re at Breaking Emptiness Realm, how could you steal from them right under their noses?”
“I didn’t steal from them!” She pouted. “Didn’t you check my storage ring…”
“Give me your other storage ring!” Billy interrupted her.
