Under the moonlight, a cold glint appeared in Lord Valerian’s eyes. He frowned, noting that Chris was no ordinary man. Although he had not clashed with Chris directly, Lord Valerian could tell that he was a cultivator. Despite his careful concealment, Chris had discovered him. Had he not escaped in time, Chris would surely have caught up with him.
“Chris? The disciple of Archer Wintersong? Interesting! Very interesting!”
With a sneer, Lord Valerian vanished into the darkness like a ghost.
After returning to the villa, Chris couldn’t sleep all night. Who was this person lurking in the shadows? This person posed a significant threat to him. Despite locating his trail, the stranger had managed to escape. Given Chris’s speed and reflexes, very few could escape from him. Who could this person be? An enemy? Daniel Williams? Ethan Stone? Hollow Frost? Unfortunately, Chris had too many enemies to determine which one it might be.
The next day, Chris made a call to Tiger.
“Tiger, bring the Guards of Death to Cloud Bay.” Since Tiger’s return, he had replaced Phoenix and was always ready to serve Chris.
“Yes!”
Tiger nodded without asking further questions. After breakfast, Esther and Juliette went to work. To ensure Esther’s safety, Chris accompanied her. Esther pleaded, “Dear, can you not stay in my office? It’s affecting my work!”
“Oh?”
Chris was stunned for a moment but then reluctantly left.
After leaving Chester Group, Chris felt as though eyes were watching him from the shadows. It seemed the pursuer was targeting him specifically. With this realization, Chris breathed a sigh of relief. As long as they were after him, he feared no one. Chris checked the time; it was almost time to pick up Hope from kindergarten. Hope was now in her final year of kindergarten and would start elementary school next year.
“Daddy!”
Hope was thrilled to see Chris come to pick her up.
“Sweetheart! Let’s go, daddy will take you home!”
Chris lifted Hope and headed to the car.
From a corner not far away, a pair of cold eyes watched Chris and Hope.
“Chris, for my daughter, you must die!”
After picking up Hope, Chris went into the kitchen to cook. It was a rare visit from his daughter, and Chris wanted to cook for her personally. Lord Valerian, who had followed Chris quietly, entered the villa unnoticed even by Tiger and the Guards of Death. As Lord Valerian stepped inside, a terrifying murderous aura burst from him. Just as he was about to act, his expression changed suddenly, and the murderous aura quickly receded.
“Uncle, who are you?”
Hope asked, looking curiously at Lord Valerian.
“I…” Lord Valerian, who had killed countless people, found himself unable to harm this little girl.
“Sorry, wrong door.” With these words, Lord Valerian quickly left.
“What a strange uncle!”
Hope muttered to herself, returning to the living room to continue watching cartoons. Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Chris asked curiously, “Hope, who were you talking to just now?”
Hope replied, “Daddy! There was an uncle here; he said he was at the wrong door.”
Upon hearing this, Chris furrowed his brow.
“A strange uncle?”
It seemed this person was indeed the one who had been secretly tracking him.
Given the strict security throughout Cloud Bay, it was no small feat that this person could infiltrate so easily.
Chris took a deep breath and suddenly yelled, “Tiger!”
“Master!”
Soon after, Tiger came over.
Chris said with a cold face, “Someone just came in, did you know?”
“What?”
Tiger’s face changed, confused.
“Master, that’s impossible! I’ve been patrolling outside the villa, how could anyone have gotten in?”
Chris waved his hand and said, “Alright! Stay here and protect Hope, I’m going out.”
“Yes, sir!”
Tiger nodded and immediately stayed in the living room to protect Hope.
Meanwhile, Chris rushed out of the villa alone.
Before long, Chris arrived at a secluded street.
It was very quiet, nearly deserted.
Chris, with a stern face, called out, “Friend, you’ve been following me for a long time now, aren’t you going to come out and talk?”
Tap! Tap! Tap!
Footsteps echoed.
From the shadows, a figure emerged.
This was a man around fifty, his expression extremely calm but with an intimidating aura.
Chris stared at the man and frowned, certain he had never seen this person before.
“Who are you? Why are you following me?”
Lord Valerian responded coldly, “You don’t need to know. All you need to know is that you will die by my hand!”
“Uh?”
Upon hearing this, Chris was momentarily stunned.
To be honest, this was the first time Chris had encountered someone so arrogantly confident.
“Want to kill me? We’ll see if you’re capable!”
Chris snorted coldly, a murderous aura erupting from his body.
“Die!”
With a roar, Lord Valerian charged at Chris without any wasted words.
Swoosh!
Lord Valerian’s speed was incredibly fast, almost like lightning.
Seeing this, Chris’s expression immediately became grave.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Soon, a fierce battle ensued between them.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Almost instantly, the fight escalated into intense combat.
The two, fist against fist, used almost no tricks.
Chris’s expression grew more serious; this was a cultivator, and not a weak one at that!
Who was this person?
Logically, such a cultivator should not be unknown, so why didn’t Chris recognize him?
But the man before him was someone Chris had never seen before, as if he had suddenly appeared.
What enmity did he have with Chris? Why did he want to kill him?
Countless questions filled Chris’s mind.
Boom!
With a loud noise, Chris suddenly staggered back several steps.
“Is this the power of this generation’s Amerosia Primus? It seems you are nothing special after all! If this is all the strength you have, then today is your day to die!”
Lord Valerian grinned malevolently, clenched his fist, and then threw a powerful punch.
Crackle!
The air seemed to explode, a series of explosive sounds ringing out.
Chris looked horrified; the punch was terrifyingly powerful.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Suddenly.
Gunshots rang out, and several bullets flew towards them.
