Sophie’s pov
The blood drains from my face, nausea crawling up my throat.
Oh God.
Panic starts to weigh in.
This test could be wrong. It was one test. Some aren’t very
much accurate.
But I have been extremely tired lately and have been eating a lot. I blamed it on the stress of the last two months.
I didn’t think it would be-
My heart slams against my chest, hard. My fingers shook.
“What does it say?” Christopher asked again, his tone leveled with impatience.
“-
I swallowed heavily. If I read those to him truthfully. What would happen? And if I read this to him wrongly?
My mind rushes.
I want to vomit.
The test falls on the floor as I rush to the corner of the room and wrench. I shake, crying as I brace my arms on the unfinished wall.
“For fuck sakes.” Christopher “Lillian. What do two red lines mean?”
My blood runs cold and I fall to my knees.
Ashton.
I clutched my chest as I tried to get air into my lungs. God, it was getting hard to breathe.
“Pregnant huh?” Christopher snorted.
Tears rolled down my cheeks as panic rages in my body.
Oh God.
Oh No.
Ash….
My little bug….
What will happen to him?
What will happen to me?
I cried.
“I suppose she earned herself nine months.” He chuckled.
What does he mean?
What were they saying?
Were they going to get rid of me now that they knew I was pregnant?
Nine months for what?
I turned around, my eyes wide. “The test can be wrong.”
He looked at me with his darkened cruel eyes. I have never seen such a monster in my life.
He shook his head. “Do you have a death wish Sophie?” He chuckled and remove the phone beside his ear.
I hugged myself. ” I don’t understand. What happens now that the test shows I’m pregnant? The least you can do is tell me what to expect?”
Christopher’s grin made me grow even more nauseous. ” Preg-nant.” He points down at the test. “Means you’ve earned yourself nine more months to live.”
My bottom lip tremble when he continued. “Not pregnant means,” He motioned a finger slitting his throat. “Your death.”
I backed away, pressing my back on the wall. “What about my son? What will you do to him? Why do you want to keep me here pregnant? What is the sick plof yours?”
Christopher throws his head back and laughed. “You’re fucking gullible Sophie. Your son isn’t here.”
My heart thuds. If Ash wasn’t here… then where was he?
Was there a possibility that they only took me? And left him?
Christopher shook his head. “But don’t worry, he’s in good hands.” His sly smirk showed me that I should in fact worry about my son.
“He’s with Lillian. His mother.” His smirk widened when he saw my expression.
Nausea and fear forgotten as I stormed toward him and gripped his shirt. “If she hurts a single hair on his head-
“Relax. She won’t hurt him. Unless…” He drawled and peeled my fingers off his shirt.
He grips my wrists, the same place the ropes had bit into my skin. I winced and his eyes flashed. He loved to see me in pain.
What a fucking psychopath.
“Aiden will fucking kill you both!” I sneered.
“Aiden’s too busy flirting with my sister to care about you right now.” His eyes flashed with mirth.
His words hit me like a punch to the gut. The air whooshes out of my lungs and I stumbled.
“What?” I breathed out in shock.
He raised a brow, looking at me like I was the funniest thing he had ever seen.
“Don’t believe me? How about I show you so you can see for yourself?” He suggested.
I shook my head. ” I don’t believe you.”
My eyes misted and my lower lip trembled.
He lifted one shoulder into a casual shrug, as if he was not just tearing my hopes of getting out of here apart. But then again, that’s exactly what he wanted to accomplish.
He sighs heavily. “Fine. Don’t want to come to terms that the
‘love of your life’ is with another. Suit yourself.” He shrugs again and dialed someone on his phone.
Lifting the phone to his ear, he utters.” Bring over three more pregnancy tests,” He looks over at me.
“Think you have enough pee stored for some more testing?”
When I do not respond, he chuckles and says over the line.
“Bring a bottle of water too.”
My mind is still lost on his words earlier. Aiden? With Lillian?
Flirting?
My heart clenched.
For those past months with me, he showed that he loved me and Ash more than anything.
So why…
“Can I see?” I whispered.
Christopher slides the phone into his pocket.
“See what?” He asked with a tilt of his head. “Oh. That?” He shorted. “Ill show you when you take those other tests. For now, pray that you’re actually pregnant.”
I bit into my lower lip harshly until I drew some blood. “Are you planning to keep me here until I give birth?”
Christopher chuckled. “Of course! Lillian doesn’t want to harm a part of Aiden. So as soon as you give birth, the baby will go to Lillian and Aiden. By then, you’re no longer needed.”
His words made me feel sick. “You two are crazy,” I whis-pered, shaking my head.
“Call us whatever you want. But we always get what we want.”
He smirks at me in triumph.
I shake my head and clutched the chain Aiden gifted me about a month ago. It was a rose pendant. He had a special dinner that night on the rooftop. There were pretty lights and candles around.
And that’s when he gifted this to me. He told me to always wear it. That when I do, he’ll always be connected to me.
I clutched it harder, praying that Christopher’s words about him and Lillian were not true.
After a few minutes had passed, a man brought three pregnancy tests and a bottle of water as Christopher asked of him. After he leaves Christopher and me alone, I took the three tests.
A few minutes later, all came back positive.
I had a baby growing inside me. Aiden and I made another ba-by.
