Sophie’s pov
His request was crazy. Why would he need for me to pee on a stick?
“What is the purpose of this Christopher?” I whispered, staring at the stick cautiously.
I wasn’t pregnant.
Christopher’s eyes flashed and his lips tip into a smirk. “Did you not tell Sergio you were pregnant for Aiden? ”
I froze, feeling nauseous.
Sure Aiden lied to Sergio to try to get Sergio off our backs, but what he said was a lie, I wasn’t pregnant. But even though it was, why did this concern Christopher?
“Why?” I whispered.
Christopher’s smirk irked me and made my skin crawl. “Why do we need to know if you’re pregnant or not? We’re simply seeing if you’re better alive or dead.”
My blood runs cold and he chuckled when he saw my uneasi-ness. He loved that he managed to crawl under my skin. He loved to see the flash of fear in my eyes.
Thate him.
No.
I loathe him.
But I doubted he would care how I perceive him. I also be lieved that is exactly how he’d want me to see him. As a mon-ster.
“And what if I am not?” I whispered in fear.
He raised a brow, leaning against the unfinished wall. “If you’re not pregnant?”
He throws his head back and lets out one of those laughs that made fear tickle your spine. A laugh that made me shrink.
I didn’t really care for my well-being. I cared that they had Ash-ton. I cared about his safety. I feared for his safety.
What were they doing to him?
Is he safe?
Of course not. If he was in those assholes clutches then, no. He wasn’t safe.
“I want to see my son. How do I know he’s safe?” I whispered, looking at Christopher’s boots. One kick from those and I was done.
The laughter stopped. It died out like the vacuum sucked the shit out of it. The silence that remained was uncomfortable. It didn’t help that his eyes were peering at me nastily.
“You’re in no position to ask questions. Pick up the stick and pee on it.” He lifted his wrist to his eyes and grumble. “You’re wasting enough time as it is.”
“How do I know if you’re lying or not? How do I know that you actually have my son?”
His eyes narrowed into slits of irritation. “Are you going to put your son in danger by continuing to ask those questions? Or are you going to do as I say? The longer we stay here, the more he’s in danger. What are you going to do Sophie? Play it safe?
Or?”
He takes his phone out of his back pocket and dialed a number.
A gruff male voice came from the other end.
Christopher looked at me with a wicked gleam in his eyes. “Put the gun to the little boy’s head. Don’t pull the trigger until I tell you to do.”
“Will do sir.”
My stomach twisted. My heart thudded in my chest painfully.
There was no telling if they had Ashton or not. But was I really about to not do as he says and put Ash in danger?
Christopher ends the call and looks at me. “So what are you going to do Sophie? Play it safe or-
I picked up the stick and looked at Christopher. “Can you get out? I need privacy at least.” I said shakily.
What will they do to me and Ash if I’m not pregnant?
I don’t even want to think of the possibilities.
Oh Aiden. Please save us soon.
Christopher shook his head, a smirk playing on his lips. “No can do sweetheart. I need to see you actually pee on that stick.”
I blanched, feeling nauseated.
I was thankful that I had a dress on, so perhaps maybe I can pee without him seeing anything.
“Tick tock. Tick tock.” He tapped on his watch, smirking nasti-ly.
With my heart thudding, I quickly crotch and tore my eyes away from that asshole in humiliation.
There was no toilet, no tissue and no water. I was supposed to pee on the concrete floor.
I shivered. Disgusted and humiliated.
“Can you at least look away?” I asked him, my voice low in embarrassment.
Christopher rolled his eyes and with a heavy irritated sigh, turns around and gives me his back.
I’m at least grateful he wasn’t going to stare at me while I piss.
Not only would that be awkward, but I’d be humiliated even more.
“Don’t even think about cheating your way out of not actually peeing on the stick. I will know.” He grumbled with a slight chuckle.
I wasn’t going to.
It’s not like I had a choice.
If they had Ash, it was best to do whatever he said. At least until someone gets us out of here.
“I wasn’t going to,” I murmured and peeled my panties to the side. I pushed the pregnancy test between my legs and closed my eyes.
A tear streaked down my cheek as I felt more humiliated when I heard the sound of my pee hitting the floor and stick.
God.
Of all things.
When I was done, I got up and clutched the stick with shaky hands. This stick was going to tell me my future.
Christopher turns around before I could tell him I was done. He nudges his head to an unfinished window. “Place it on here.
We’ll wait ”
I do as I’m told and looked at him cautiously. “What happens if I am not?”
Christopher leans against wall. ” You keep asking what happens if you’re not pregnant. Did you and Aiden lie to Sergio about the pregnancy?”
I remained quiet.
Christopher’s smirk widened. “I suppose time will tell.” He nudged his head at the test.
We stood in uncomfortable silence for a good five minutes until Christopher uttered. “Get the test.”
I pretended to be occupied and not have heard him.
He marches over to me and grips my arm in a brutal hold. I gasped. He pushes me towards the test.
“Pick up the fucking test Sophie.” He grunted.
Not wanting to get him more angry, fearing he’d hurt Ash. I nodded and walked over to the test. I gripped it with shaky hands, afraid to look down at the results.
“Well..” Christopher hisses. “What does it say?”
I gulped.
“What does it fucking say!?” He roared in impatience and stalked towards me.
I looked down at the test, my heart thudding even harder than it was seconds ago.
Two red lines.
I’m pregnant.
