I called Griffin afterwards and intimated to him the strategies of our rescue mission. I had an idea of the warehouse that they could be in since I heard Pandora’s screams echo.
Just like I knew that Uncle Joe would not hold back from hurting Pandora, judging from how she had just been slapped on the call. I clenched my fist in anger and shut my eyes so tightly that I felt like I was going to go wild.
I started finding it difficult to breathe and gasped a little for more air. I staggered from the hypoxia and managed to steady myself, my back leaning on the wall. I felt my blood boil and I coughed violently.
Griffin rushed to my side with a hand-stretched warm towel, and when I wiped my mouth with it, I saw blood stains. I quickly folded the towel and put it away.
“Do not tell anyone about this,” I warned Griffin when I noticed that he had seen the blood stains too.
“No problem boss. I did not see anything.” He replied and I nodded my head.
“Prepare the weapons, you will head out in thirty minutes. I want it sharp, fast, and quiet. You know the drill. Do not wait for me. Do what you have to do, we will meet later.” I ordered, and Griffin bowed and slept.
I went to the door and looked through to be certain I was alone before changing to my wolf form.
My wolf was a real beauty to behold, a black wolf with the lushest of manes and the fluffiest of furs. I didn’t want anyone to know that I was going in my wolf form, as I had a slightly different plan.
I headed out through my secret passage and came out at the back of the pack settlement.
As soon as I was out in the clear and knew that I was not going to be seen by anyone, I dashed off in the direction of the only warehouse my uncle had to his name.
He couldn’t afford anywhere else as he had made a bad financial decision, by that I mean a bad gambling decision that cost him everything he had.
I could not wait to get my hands on him, so I could rip off his head from his body. I was done entertaining his foolery, and would not listen to anyone who sues for peace between the two of us anymore.
I prayed to the moon goddess that nothing should happen to my mate and my kids. I would never forgive myself if such a thing ever happened. I knew the heartbreak would surely kill me. I increased my pace at the thought of Pandora being hurt.
Soon after, I came to an open clearing where one could see the warehouse clearly, I climbed a tree to get an aerial view, and I was right about my suspicion that he could be keeping Pandora there.
Running a quick calculation, I estimated the time I might have spent coming here, and it was around forty minutes, meaning that Griffin and the rest of his men were almost here. I only had to wait for a little while.
I had barely settled when I heard a barrage of gunshots filling the air and the entire building being surrounded.
Some of Uncle Joe’s guards were already being gunned down as they barely had time to prepare for the attack.
Whispering some prayers and chants to the moon goddess, I changed to my human form, straightened my t-shirt, and crouched so that no one could see me.
I got to the back of the warehouse, successfully, without being spotted by any of the now distracted guards. I knew I had nothing to worry about as Griffin was very capable of handling his area of expertise.
Looking into the warehouse, I saw a figure tied to an old chair, I snuck inside and tried to untie the figure before I noticed that it was hay.
I had been tricked.
My phone rang at the same time, and when I picked up, my uncle’s mocking laughter echoed in the room. I swallowed my anger and tried to hold on to my sanity and the dread that I suddenly felt.
“You must really think that you are that smart. Those men you just killed now, are innocent members of your pack that I employed to take care of my grains in the warehouse. You killed them, that is on you and not on me. You were supposed to wait for my command since it’s obvious you know who is holding your wife hostage now.”
“I am sure hoping that the fool I kept replacing whenever I wanted to step out just has said a lot more than he should. I expected that. I did not expect that you would think I am so stupid. I am really disappointed” my so-called uncle said mockingly and had another fit of laughter.
The croaking sound of my voice filled my throat with disgust as the anger rose in my chest.
“Where is my wife, Joe?” I spat out angrily, the gunshots around me beginning to quiet down and murmurs of the men began to filter into my ears instead.
Griffin rushed in, and I motioned for him to not make a sound.
“Well, I told you that I would call you back to tell you my demands. If you ever want to see your pregnant wife again, you will step down from the throne and go into exile.” He said and laughed again.
I opened my mouth to cuss him out, but I decided against it as that would only agitate him more, and he would hurt Pandora and my kids too.
“Are you crazy? That would never work. Do you not want money? I read your bank statements, and they strongly suggested that you are in debt. If you let her go, I promise, I will sort out all those bills and let you leave the palace freely.” I cajoled, willing to say anything, so I could be reunited with Pandora.
“I am not a fool. When you step down from the throne, please let me know. I can promise you that I will be in the last place you could possibly ever think of looking” he said and laughed before the call dropped dead.
My face lit up as I now had an idea of where Pandora was. According to Joe, she is in the last place that I would look.
