I’m standing in front of the mirror, taking a final look at my appearance. I put on a full-length black evening gown. It has a one-shoulder neckline. This dress shows off a sleeveless look, features a thigh-high slit, and ends with a flared silhouette.
I paired the dress with high-heeled black pumps and a mini royal blue mini purse.
I let my hair loose, wearing minimal makeup.
I’m having dinner with Prince Theodore. I declined his past invitations, but I accepted his invitation this time to clear my mind from Xander’s mating ceremony tonight.
The kids, my grandpa, and his mate Belinda are already there to attend the ceremony.
I grabbed my clutch quickly, and I headed downstairs to meet Theodore, who had been waiting for me to come down.
When I reach the bottom of the stairs, Theodore lifts his head from his phone when he senses my presence, and his jaw drops down slightly as he takes in my outfit.
“Wow, you look amazing, your highness.” He took my hand and kissed it.
“Thank you; you look good too.”
I have to say that he also looks very handsome in his black suit, which sits perfectly over his prodding muscles.
We make our way to the car, and we take a place in the back seats while the driver in the front seat drives us to the restaurant.
He booked the whole restaurant exclusively for us .
He moved my chair like a good gentleman
“Thank you, your majesty.” I thank him
Then he took a seat facing me.
“Can we skip the formality and just call me? Theo and I will call Gina”.
“Okay”
“Let’s order dinner.”
He called for the waitress, and then we ordered our food and drinks.
We had dinner, enjoying each other’s company.
He’s a funny guy and easy to talk to.
“You know, Gina, I want to confess something to you.”
“About what”
“I really like you, and I want you as my chosen mate.”
My eyes widened at his statement. I tried to say something, but nothing came out.
“You’re so beautiful, smart, and successful, and you’re a great mother. That’s all I want in a future partner. I have waited so long for my mate to come, but after seeing you, I prefer you to be my mate, and I don’t see any mate mark on you, so you’re unmated.”
“Look, you’re very handsome, a real gentleman, but I don’t want a man in my life right now.”
“Why, because of Alpha Xander, I sensed something was going on between you two. Is his mating ceremony happening now? I don’t get it.””No, no, we are not together; he’s only my children’s father , nothing more; we used to be mates; we rejected each other.”
“How a man in his right mind rejects a woman like you.”
I blushed at his compliment.
It’s a long story; I will tell you about it later.”
“You still love him, right? You’re not over him yet.”
I nodded. “But you will be the first man when my heart is ready.”
He laughed, saying, “That’s so kind of you, your majesty.”
We continued the evening laughing and having a good time.
“I don’t want it to end yet; do you want to take this to the club? I own a nightclub in LA.”
“We drink our asses out and dance; no one will recognize us there.”
“Okay, let’s go, but what about our clothes? We can’t go to a club like that.”
“We will change along the way.”
We took his private jet and flew to LA. When we got there, the club was crowded with a mixture of humans and shifters.
We took our place in the VIP lounge. We had a lot of drinks, we danced, and it’s been a long time since I had a good time. We were dancing and swaying our hips. Suddenly, immense pain shot through my body.
A burning pain in my lower abdomen increased, and I screamed in agony. I fell to the ground, hugging my knees, sobbing so hard from the chronic pain.
I saw Theo’s lips moving, but I couldn’t hear anything from what he was saying; all I could feel was the burning of my marking spot. Then everything went numb and darkness engulfed me.

We were having a good time, dancing until I heard her screaming in pain, and then she fell to the ground, her body was shaking in great pain.
“Gina, what happened? Talk to me.”
I got no response from her. I picked her up from the ground and rushed off to the emergency room. There’s a doctor who’s a friend of mine who’s a werewolf. I can’t risk flying her back to her kingdom in her state. I went to the emergency room and asked for Dr. William; they guided me to his checking room.
“Your highness, what brought you here? Are you okay?”
“Hello doctor. “No, it’s not me; my friend here passed out from pain; please check her.”
“Calm down; I will examine her.”
After running some tests, he gets back with the results.
“I’m afraid that your friend felt immense pain because her mate has mated and marked another woman.”
“It’s impossible because they rejected each other.”
“Maybe the bond didn’t break completely; something happened in the middle of the rejection; however, she needs to spend the night here under observation, and tomorrow she can go home. You have a very strong woman here; breaking a mate bond by force can kill.” She’s lucky to be alive.”

“Baby, you need to run; they’re bad people and will hurt you.”

“Mommy and Daddy will be fine if you run, and we will get back to you. Okay, now run and don’t look back.”
“Sorry your majesties, but you saw something you shouldn’t have seen; you need to die,” the big ugly black wolf with the red eyes sarcastically said, then he lunged at the woman and snapping her neck.”Mommy, noooo!!!”
I woke up with a start , tears coursing down my cheeks , my body shook with sobs and sweating; my throat was sore.
That dream again!!
I tried to get it but an IV fluid was hooked to my arm.
“Gina, have you woken up? I will call the doctor.”My eyes are blurred. “Grandpa, can I have water, please?”
“Sure, baby,” he says, handing me the cup. I drink it.
“What happened? Why am I in the hospital?
“You were out for four days; don’t you remember anything?”
“I remember my date with Theo, when a sudden pain shot me and I passed out, but why?”
“Imm, sweetheart, Xander mated and marked his chosen mate.” My heart sank, and tears welled up in my eyes as my lips were busted open.
“And what has that to do with my pain?”
The doctor thinks that you were still mates when he marked his mate, and as a result, the mate bond ended with force; that’s why you felt great pain.”
“That’s why I felt the mate bond was still there even when he rejected me.”
“I remember now that he spelled my name wrong; that’s why his rejection went wrong.”
“Whatever, it’s over now; where are the kids? They are with their nannies. I’ll link the doctor to check on you; he will be here any minute”.

I’m lying on my bed, and next to me is a very naked Jessica. We had just finished our mating ritual. I thought if I marked her, I would be over Gina, but I was wrong. Nothing changed her, and even worse, I feel like I cheated. When I marked Jessica, I felt pain. What I did was continue to love her. I never stopped loving her. I was fooling myself. I have hurt her and myself. There’s no going back now that I am mated to another woman.
“We lost our fated mate for good, you fool; because of your stubborn ass, I don’t feel a connection with Jessica’s wolf even though we are mated.” Xavier roared in my mind.
When I get out of bed, I need to run to clear my mind.

I put on my shorts and I made my way to the forest. I shifted to my wolf and I started running without any direction.
After 3 hours, I took my leave of the palace. When I was on my way to my room, I heard my mother and Jessica whispering in my mom’s room. I stood near the door to hear the conversation.
“I can’t thank you enough for helping me get married to Xander.”
“You are welcome, darling; you know I never liked that lowly life, Gina, and I did choose you for him; you deserve to be the queen Luna better than her.”
“The magic spell you put on him to accept me and mate with me did a great job, but you know, we don’t know when the magic will wear out, and I need you to make another potion soon.”
What the fuck! I was under the spell of that sneaky bitch, and my mother was involved.
I know that she despises Gina, but I never thought that she would get so low as to achieve her goals.
Omg, what am I going to do!? What if she hurts Gina and the kids?
I need to get along with them until I think of something to do about it, then confront them.
