“Get off me! Please!” Kourtney started crying now as she couldn’t help it, but her pleas fell on deaf ears.
“Oh, look who’s crying now! I thought you were acting tough,” one of the women hissed, shoving her hard against the wall.
Kourtney’s shoulder collided painfully, and she winced as her body protested against the force. They were laughing, enjoying her humiliation, and it made her stomach turn. Her tears started flowing freely now…..
“She’s crying so hard! Aww, poor, pretty little rich girl,” one of them cooed mockingly before shoving Kourtney’s face into the dirt on the floor. “Maybe this will teach you a lesson.”
“You think your money can save you here? Look around, Bitch. We don’t care about your last name or your daddy’s bank account!” another one sneered with spite while they all laughed harder.
At that moment, as their laughter rang in her ears, Kourtney couldn’t help but think about how she had ended up here.
Her heart ached with pain. This wasn’t just about Kathlyn; it was about her entire family. She felt an overwhelming surge of hate toward all of them-the people who make up the Allen family.
How could they do this to her?
How could they abandon her to this fate?
If she survives this, she will never forgive them for this evil treachery.
This time, she would make them pay!
Every single one of them!
She was getting weaker from all the beating and torment, and the world around her started to blur.
At this dying moment, through the haze of pain and humiliation, there was only one person she thought about.
Sebastian Woods!
Kourtney’s heart ached desperately for him. She thought of his strong arms around her, enveloping her… securing her… shielding her against this wicked world.
‘If only he would come for me,’ she thought desperately.
If only he would burst through those doors and take her away from this nightmare.
She needed her husband here now!
She needed him now more than ever!
The realization that she needed her husband was a hard pill for her to swallow. But now, she was done shying away from that thought.
Lilian was right, after all.
She knew now that she needed Sebastian so badly.
He was like a God-sent to her, but she had been too blind to see and acknowledge that fact all this while.
She needed that man, not only in this situation but also in her quest for revenge against her so-called family.
At this point, Kourtney didn’t care anymore.
This time, she was done playing the good daughter.
She was done being the naive little girl who they could step on so easily and get away with it.
But now, here she was, battered and broken, surrounded by a group of women who thrived on her misery.
‘If only I could be given a second chance,’ Kourtney thought as the consciousness continued to slip away from her.
If only he’d just show up.
If only….
The world around her continued to fade, slowly but steadily.
In her last fleeting moments of consciousness, something-no, someone-pierced through the veil of despair.
Suddenly, through the haze of pain and the mocking laughter of her captors, a figure emerged from the shadows.
The figure approached, its outline becoming more defined, and her heart raced, clinging to the desperate hope that it was real.
Sebastian Woods!!!
Kourtney squinted against the dim light, her mind foggy and disoriented.
Was she hallucinating?
Was it really him, or was her mind gathering an illusion of hope to shield her from this brutal reality?
Was this a cruel trick of her battered psyche as she slipped further into unconsciousness?
“Open the damn gates!” His voice shattered the last shred of doubt she felt, sharp and piercing, filled with an authority that sent a shiver through the air.
The command was immediate and uncompromising, sending the officers scrambling into a flurry of action.
It silenced the mocking laughter in an instant, and Kourtney felt the harsh grip of her captors loosen, the chaos around her quieting down as if the universe itself was holding its breath.
The beating and torments finally stopped!
The daredevil inmates were stunned by the forceful presence that had just entered their makeshift territory.
In that surreal moment, Kourtney’s senses sharpened, and she felt strong arms lifting her up from the cold, rough, and dirty floor. She was cradled against a solid chest, and she instinctively leaned into the warm embrace.
She inhaled sharply, her body quickly recognizing the familiar scent of the manly cologne, a heady blend of cedar and musk that felt like home. It was intoxicating, pushing away the stench of sweat and grime that had lingered in the cell.
It was as if she had been transported from hell to heaven, in a matter of seconds.
As she opened her teary eyes, she was met with his chiseled jawline- the one she had slowly grown fond of over their tumultuous marriage.
He was really here….
He had come for her….
He was here in the flesh, real and concrete.
And in that very moment, Kourtney believed in miracles.
A miracle in the form of a man she had once thought she could live without.
“Sebastian,” she whispered, her voice shaking with gratitude and disbelief. “You found me.”
“Of course I did. You’re my wife, Kourtney. I will always find you,” he replied, his gaze fierce and unwavering.
‘You’re my wife, Kourtney. I will always find you.’
‘You’re my wife, Kourtney. I will always find you.’
‘You’re my wife, Kourtney. I will always find you.’
Those words echoed over and over again in her head.
Those words wrapped around her heart!
She watched as the female inmates backed off, their laughter dying in their throats as their eyes widened with recognition.
Who wouldn’t know him?
They identified him instantly as the titan of the business industry, the man who commanded respect and fear everywhere he went. Yet they were just messing with his WIFE!
His WIFE???
Sebastian’s presence was magnetic, an aura of power that made the very air they breathed feel charged.
The women who had once reveled in her humiliation now wore expressions of shock and dread as they stepped aside, their earlier bravado diminishing in the face of a man like Sebastian Woods.
Even the numerous well-trained and combat-skilled bodyguards who entered the cell with him were massive and muscular, their intimidating figures causing the inmates to glance nervously at one another.
