Luna Mavana was preoccupied with putting the pack together so they could go to war.
“I hope your weapons are tight, so you do not get stranded on the battlefield.” She whispered to the warrior who was adjusting his bow.
“I am working on it now; it will not disappoint my Luna.” He gave a smile.
“I sincerely hope so.” She stepped away.
Luna Mavana stepped out of the pack house and searched the whole pack and the warriors to make sure that none of them was slacking behind. She ensures that their weapons are very strong so they don’t get defeated.
She was determined to do this but also had mixed feelings.
She was stuck between. Would I come out victorious? And should I listen to the elders?
Too many things were on her mind but she stuck with the; I would come out victorious
She had looked everywhere by this point and was pleased with what she had discovered. She sent a message to the pack members to gather in front of the pack house before returning inside to dress.
Putting on leather pants and a boot before donning the breastplate, greaves, and helmet.
She tightened the belt around her waist and took in a deep breath.
“I will do this for you, Damian.” Tears glistened in her eyes.
She acted strong and refused to cry. Rather, she sniffed it in and grabbed her Alpha’s sword. When he went to war, he preferred to use his favorite sword.
She wiped her face with her palms and went to visit the alpha’s mother. She lay there weak, barely able to speak.
Luna Mavana moved closer to her and dropped her sword.
She could hear her muttering words, but the weakness had overcome her.
“Do not worry, Mom; I will be back. Victorious.” She leaned in close and kissed her on the forehead.
“Look after her and make sure nothing goes wrong with her.” She gave instructions to the Royal Doctor.
Nodding in agreement, Luna Mavana walked out of the room. She arrived at the audience that had gathered outside to hear her speech. The elders stood next to her, their arms folded.
She gave them a look before slowly turning her head away. She concentrated on how to address the people, ignoring everything those eyes had to say.
“The people of the Silverado pack. We never back down from a battle until we are declared the winner because we are warriors. They attacked us without warning and took away our alpha. Families were gone, we wept that day, we lost loved ones, and now… ” She stopped to contain the hot tears that were welling up around her eyes.
Weakness is the last thing she wants to display in front of her people; she does not want them to perceive her as weak.
She attempted to control her tears for several minutes before continuing her speech.
“We are going to eliminate her today. We would ensure that they were unaware of our arrival and force them to consume their blood.” She felt anger rise in her chest.
“Yeah,” Some people started crying as the crowd applauded and clapped in agony.
Luna Mavana made sure she looked strong throughout everything that transpired.
“Until the last drop of blood leaves our veins, we will fight.” “We will emerge triumphant.”. She walked off the stage after concluding her remarks.
She was able to bump into the elders once more. The action taken by Luna Mavana did not persuade them.
“Are you continuing to make this choice?” Among the elders, one inquired.
“We have concluded. I believe what I should hear from you is a prayer of victory.” She contorted her face.
“Prayer of victory?” the relative elder scoffed.
“This is an act of ignorance because you want to avenge the deaths of everyone you mentioned out there. You are endangering the lives of these soldiers.” The relation elder attempted to speak calmly, hoping to persuade Luna Mavana.
“Staying in this pack without doing anything is risky enough. I can not see anything that is not risky here.” She stated,
“As you say. I do not want to obstruct you.” The elders took one step backward.
Luna Mavana experienced an awkward feeling, but she was able to overcome it. The strange silence that occurred at that moment said a lot of things.
“I would let you go with that. I have other things to do, and when I am finished, I will come for you elders.” She thought silently, glaring at them as if she wanted to take their lives away.
She abandoned the elders and led the way out of the pack.
“Farewell, Luna. Farewell, Warriors. Come back victorious!” The pack members prayed before walking them to the gates. They waved until the gates closed and they could not be seen anymore.
The members trembled in thought as they faced the elders, who simply stood there looking at them as if they were ready for a meal.
Luna Mavana led the way, and they reached the pack.
“Watch out for your six. Make sure you enter the place unnoticed.” She gave instructions to the chief warrior.
“We will get in there.” The chief warrior responded.
They split up and went in different directions.
Luna Mavana was now inside their territory. She used a dagger to slit the guard’s throat, preventing them from announcing their arrival.
“You, asshole. You wanted me to come get you. I’m here.” She murmured to herself.
The battle had begun, and the crest pack warriors attempted to hold back the incoming crowd. They were disorganized, and before some could reach their swords, the warriors of the Silverado pack had dismembered them and fed them to the wolves.
The rest of them attempted to shapeshift and attack, but they were not as quick as the people Luna Mavana had prepared.
“Send greetings to your ancestors.” She raised her sword and slit his throat. She panted as she watched the wolves go after the head.
Luna Mavana was up to meet the Luna of the Crest Pack. She desperately wanted to behead Lorienta. She fought her way through, leaving the outside area for the other warriors.
Ryan arrived just as she was about to reach Luna Lorienta.
He swung the chain in his hands and said, “Hey, you are not getting any passes.”
Luna Mavana became upset when she saw his face, her father’s betrayer. She immediately pursued him.
He was not an easy target to eliminate.
She raised her sword at him, but he was quick enough to dodge and spin it to the ground.
“Oh, poor boy. You are jeopardizing your life to save a fool.” She let out a smirk.
“This is for making me an orphan.” She groaned and patiently waited for him to approach her, and he did. She fixed her gaze on his arms and squinted them; by the time he got close, Luna Mavana swung her arms and split his arms open.
He let out a painful groan.
“You are free to say your final prayer.” She aimed the sword at him.
*********
Luna Lorienta moved slowly into the room where her husband was lying. She was holding a pocket knife behind her back.
Alpha Carlos remained unconscious, but his fingers were already moving.
“Oh, Alpha Carlos. You are in too much pain; would not you prefer to rest?” She smiled as she rubbed his hair.
Carlos sensed there was something wrong in the room, but he could not say anything, let alone defend himself. He could only hear the muffled sound of a feminine voice beside him.
“Do not worry, honey. You will not see them.” She gave a mischievous smile.
Her smile faded slowly as she prepared to fulfill her selfish desire. She stabbed Alpha Carlos six times and then took a seat beside his bed to watch him die.
