BELLA
My excited mood was hampered by them. Despite the subtle signs I was giving, they seemed not to be understanding any of it, just moping at me like fools. It was infuriating.
“Look at me,” Blue said, his tone carrying a weight that forced me to do what he demanded. There was this compulsion, an intense need to do as he ordered unquestionably. It was as if my body were programmed to only obey the voice, something that didn’t sit well with me, but I couldn’t do anything about it.
“We are going to help you through your shift. I don’t know if I can help with that, but I believe we will pull it off,” he continued his blue irises boring holes in mine. Fred held my paw without uttering a word. Though my gaze was on Blue, I could feel his stare on me.
“Are you ready?” Blue’s voice brought me back to him, as he asked the question, his gaze intent, and his face scrunched in deep thoughts.
I made a sound of agreement in my throat, and he took that as a cue to start. As his words flowed out from his lips, I noticed an instant change in the air.
My body appeared lighter than ever, like I was weightless. It was as if his words snatched my strength, leaving me helpless.
“Good. You are almost there,” Fred encouraged, his voice breaking through the haze Blue’s words put me into.
I inclined my head to look at him, but Blue’s order caused me to return my gaze to him.
“You need to keep your focus on me,” Blue said, with a note of dissatisfaction and a frown on his face. I purred at him, and he smiled, noting I only did that because I didn’t like the frown on his face.
“Alright.” He patted my head, smiling as he resumed from where he stopped. I had to concentrate like he asked me to, to seek the light he spoke of. His hypnotic gaze made me envision a wall surrounding me. I had to seek a crack in the sturdy protection, and when I did, I raced towards it with vigour.
I felt an urgency. A deep need to jump through the hole, to the other side, and I did that, only to be stunned by an unforeseen onslaught of pain. A blood-chilling scream, one I didn’t know came from me until the second time left my lips.
I panted, feeling my body shift. The pain was indescribable, almost knocking my breath off. It felt like my bones were rearranging themselves. My guts hurt like someone kicked me on it.
“That’s it, Bunny. You are almost there. Keep up.”
Somehow, the light pat I received on my head, and those words, whispered, were enough to subside the pain. Though I felt the ache, it wasn’t as painful as it was a few seconds ago. I raised my head, to purr, only to freeze when I noticed something. Instead of my paws on their grasps, it was my hands. Human hands, and not wolf paws.
“Really???” Stunned, I looked down, to be certain I wasn’t imagining it, only for my cheeks to turn red in embarrassment. I was freaking naked.
Strange.
I have seen them change countless times, and they have never changed naked. They were always clothed each time they shifted from their beast form to their human form. Why was mine different?
Did my clothes get torn during my first shift? Was that the reason??
“You were gorgeous during your transformation,” Fred’s words brought me out of my reverie.
I blinked up at him, staring before I realized they were waiting for me to talk. “How long have I been out?” That was the first question I could think of at the moment.
“Give or take, Three,” Blue’s response was detached like he didn’t care, but I knew better. He doesn’t seem to be in the mood to speak about it. Who knows how worried they were when I suddenly went unconscious after that ear-splitting scream I let out?
“What were you trying to tell me in the wolf form?” Fred asked, staring at me.
“Nothing!” I removed my hands from their grips, and got up, realizing I made a mistake by doing that. Kneeling naked was better than standing. Damn it!
“Here.” Fred passed his shirt to be. “That will be enough to cover you until we return home,” he added with a smile, giving me suggestive glances as his gaze took me in slowly.
“Thanks.” My cheeks became darker as I dressed up. Their gazes made me recall how hot and bothered I was in my wolf form, how readily I was to get down and dirty with them. At that moment, I wouldn’t have minded doing it with them in Da Ankora’s study.
Just the thoughts of that sent my heart racing and my pussy clenching. I had to rub my thighs together to ease the ache because I knew this wasn’t the right place to do that. Even though I would have loved to see the shocked expression on Da Ankora’s face, I couldn’t do that to the poor old man.
“Bunny,” Blue called out in a warning tone, his eyes now a deep golden.
“I know who I am,” I blurted out, embarrassed they could smell my arousal. Hell, I could. There was a faint scent of jasmine and honey in the air. It made me realize they weren’t lying each time they claimed to scent my arousal.
“Really?” Fred perked up at that. “You are not human, are you?”
“Obviously not,” Blue snapped at him, taking his annoyance out on his brother, who only shrugged, ignoring him. He knew what Blue was up to and wasn’t in the mood to entertain him.
“No, I’m not,” I said in response, walking over to the bed where I plopped down. “I’m a hybrid. My mum is a witch, and my father is a werewolf. I only met him once, though.”
My mates walked over to the bed with me, and knelt on both sides of my legs, peering up at me like cute little huskies. Okay, not so little.
“Did you dream of them?”
“Yeah.” Nodding, I recounted everything I saw in my dream and told them about the little I could recall from when I lived with my mum. Oddly enough, I knew a lot, to point out the right direction to take, to seek my family out.
“Do you think it family still lives in the hidden mansion in the forest?” I asked, hopeful.
“They are no more,” Blue said, his tone reluctant. “Your coven was wiped out that fateful night by the men sent by the council. Your parents violated the law, so your mum and father had to pay, together with their followers.”
