I got all the information I wanted from him. It wasn’t fun at all. The bastard spilt them all, thinking I would release him. It was his unlucky day, as I was hungry for more blood. I snapped his head off his neck and gave him the fastest death ever. He wasn’t fun to torture, not at all.
“Are you satisfied?” Blue questioned, coming to squat next to me as he looked at the body. “He doesn’t sound that fun to deal with,” he added.
“Yup. Just a waste of time, but I got some answers from him, though.” I got up and Blue did the same, my gaze going towards the women who were still sleeping.
“Should we move them now?” I asked, looking at the bodies.
“Hmm. Let’s do that.”
It wasn’t difficult to transport the women to the tarred road. He carried five each and zoomed down. We laid them on the ground and made certain not to disturb their sleep. With their bodies healed, they seemed to have regained some colours.
After making sure the women would be okay, we returned to the corpses of those damned bastards, and had the guards transport them back to the kingdom, where they would be hanged at the doors of the prison; as a warning to any who might try to follow their steps.
“Those men are bastards,” Blue muttered under his breath as we strode out of the forest, acting like we owned the entire place.
“I think it’s time we returned to our kingdom,” I suggested, staring up at the moon. It was full, the type that made me crave to run in my real form.
“What of Bella? Do you wish to leave her here?” Blue demanded in a clipped tone, glaring at me.
“We can take her with us, can’t we?” I proposed.
“And risk having her leave us when she realizes we aren’t humans? Are you even listening to yourself, Fred?” He stopped walking to look at me, scowling.
“I am. I’m just stating the obvious. Why don’t we -”
“We are not returning. They can fend for themselves,” he replied, his voice still tight with emotions.
Blue had gotten attached to Bella without knowing it. Not that I didn’t feel the same way about her, though, but his feelings seemed higher.
“What if something happens? You know we can’t pretend to not be bothered about the kingdom, do you? Our parents worked so hard for it, and we can’t -”
“Can you just stop speaking, Fred?” He growled at me, his eyes blazing. “I don’t wish to talk about this. We are not going back to the kingdom. Well, not until something grave happens. They have been doing just fine god years now. They can continue!”
I wanted to argue some more with him, to tell him that the kingdom was still ours, but I knew how difficult it was to speak to Blue whenever he had that expression on his face. He didn’t seem ready for any conversation.
Pinching the bridge of my nose as I puffed out an exasperated breath, I continued towards the street.
“Do you want to see her?” I asked, turning to look at him.
He was trudging behind me like one with a heavy weight to bear, but when he heard my words, he perked up, looking refreshed.
“Let’s go.”
This time, he didn’t trail after me. He took the lead, looking excited to visit her. A smile tugged at the side of my lips as I watched him. Bella better be ready for him. Though Blue could be tagged a sadist, he had a part only a few people know – our parents and me. And that side was about to be unleashed on an unsuspecting Bella.
We walked to her house, taking our time as we strolled around, looking at the apartments. We’d been in this damned city for years but were just seeing those houses up close for the first time.
We relied on gadgets to know what was going on in the human world. It was how we managed to keep up with the trends.
We glanced up, wondering what she was doing. her light was still on, which meant she was awake.
“Do you want to go up?” I asked Blue, who nodded. “Let’s go then.” We strode towards the front door, flashed a smile at the security man, and walked past.
We took the elevator to her floor, excited and nervous at the same time. Though we knew everything about her, this was the first time we had gone to her house. In a way, it was an unfamiliar experience for us to be in her space.
Blue glanced towards me before he reached towards the bell and pressed it. We stood back, waiting for her to open the door.
“What if she doesn’t want to see us?” Blue questioned.
“This isn’t like you, man. Why are you acting nervous?” I lifted an eyebrow at him.
“You don’t have to act like you are not feeling the same. I can feel your emotions, don’t forget.” He folded his arms, his lips pulled up in a frown as he scowled.
I chuckled at that, my nerves easing a bit. “Come on, you don’t have to act like a sulking baby,” I teased.
“Hey! I’m not a kid!” He pointed his index finger at me. “I’m just -”
He paused when we heard footsteps. Our gazes immediately went to the door as we gulped. I was feeling the same way as Blue. It seemed his emotions were filtering into my subconscious.
‘Don’t blame me for your feelings!’
He growled at me through our mind link, glaring daggers as he said those words.
I lifted my shoulders in a shrug, pursing my lips as we focused once more on the door. Bella didn’t open it like we thought she would. It seemed like she was waiting for another ring.
I reached forward and pressed the bell. There was a sharp intake from her side before she opened the door, only to shut it in our faces because we could even say ‘hi’
