Sera and Klaus 13

13. I took my time in the bathroom because my mind could t get over Klaus’ smile. I don’t know what it was all about but what I knew was that he had a charming smile.
As much as I wasn’t in love with him, I couldn’t deny that he was a sex god and that I was mesmerised by him.
I scrubbed my body well and then dried myself well and took time in the mirror applying this and that to my face and after I was satisfied with the makeup the clothes he brought me, I walked out.
I was welcomed back to the living room by the aroma of well arrayed foods on the table.
“Wow! I thought it was just breakfast but it seems like we are celebrating something.
Did I miss the memo?” I asked jokingly as I took a seat next to him at the dining table.
“We are celebrating a new beginning. A new you and I,” he said and I was frozen in my action of taking a plate to start eating.
“What about you and me?” I asked him.
Maybe Klaus had got all this wrong.
“We, as a couple. You now belong to me Sera because I won’t ever allow another man to have you. Not as long as I have breath in me,” he said and I was startled.
Did I do the right thing by sleeping with Klaus?
Was I putting myself in a hole where I won’t be able to extricate myself?
“No Klaus. We aren’t. I never agreed to being a couple with you. Maybe fuck buddies but never a couple. As you know, I just came out of a five-year relationship and I am not ready to commit again.
So, the best I can do in our situation is being your fuck buddy. No more, no less,” I said and he looked thoughtful for a while.
“Okay. I agree. We can be fuck buddies but I have some conditions for it to work,” he said and I looked at him.
“Okay, I have conditions too,” I said and he signalled for me to go first.
“Condition number one, no interfering with each other’s personal lives. What we do is in bed and bed only.
Two, no sleeping with others while we are fuck buddies. Let’s keep it clean and between just the two of us. If any of us sleep around, this, what we have, is over,” I said and he didn’t even think about it.
“Deal,” he said almost immediately.
“Okay. Deal,” I said.
“Now, my turn,” he said and instead of speaking like I had expected, he walked towards the table that was cluttered with flowers and the packed food containers and bags and he retrieved a book from one of the bags.
It wasn’t a book but papers that had been put neatly in a file.
“Here, these are my conditions. They are just like yours, just a bit more elaborate,” he said as he handed them to me and I was sceptical.
I looked at the file and frowned.
Did he have to make all these pages just for sex buddies contract?
Even a marriage contract wasn’t this huge.
“Okay. I will go through your terms and conditions later and if I am okay with it, I will sign and bring it back,” I said and put the file aside.
“No. You have to sign now. Or, we can eat then you read and sign. It’s just a simple contract and I can assure you that there is nothing to think about or fear in there,” he said and that made me even more wary.
I was a business woman and I had signed several contracts and documents and if there is one thing we are always warmed about, it’s to make sure that we don’t sign anything before reading no matter how much we trust a person.
“Okay, I will read it after we eat,” I say because I am famished.
I start working on the food that is on the table and it’s too much for just two people and I am sure that the majority will go to the fridge.
On the table, there is freshly squeezed mango juice, coffee that I think Klaus brewed while I was taking a shower, crabs, braised sausages, freshly baked bread, bacon, crispy the way I love it and we’ll cooked, an assortment of fruits, rice porridge with spinach and I can’t help but wonder if he was just ordering for the two of us.
“Why so much food? You should have bought just enough for the two of us,” I couldn’t keep it in.
“I tend to eat a lot after a good night’s sex. You should too. We lose a lot of energy and it’s good to replenish it.
Since we both go to the gym, we shouldn’t be afraid of eating a balanced diet and getting full once in a while,” he said and it made sense.
We ate in silence and it was true what he had said that he ate quite a lot and I did too. I guess he influenced me.
After we ate, I stood up to help clear the table and plate the remaining in plastic containers to go to the fridge and he stopped me.
“Don’t. I will do it. You sit there and go through the contract,” he said and that’s when I remembered the document I had discarded on a seat.
I took the document and went to read the document at the couch and by the second clause, I was screaming.
“What the fuck Klaus, you should have just slapped me with a marriage contract instead of this!” I complained as I looked at him busying himself in the kitchen sink washing the utensils we had just used and he smiled.
“If that’s what you want, we can arrange that,” he said and I sneered.
“That’s not what I mean! You know that’s not what I mean,” I told him in an aggrieved voice.
“I know, baby. And I am not joking either. If you want, we can get married today and I will be faithful to you for the rest of my life,” he said and I was frozen not knowing what to say or how to respond.
I went back to reading and that’s when I realised that there was nothing serious by the fourth clause and like Klaus had said, it was just clauses to make sure that we were both faithful to each other.
I took a pen from the pen holder that was by the TV stand and went to sign and then read clause 9. 2.
“What the fuck!” I screamed again.
Here was what the contact entailed.
